1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: December 21, 2015, 10:04:48 PM
what's amazing to me is that they have kept going this long with what are obviously such deep-rooted problems and offering their users so little by of information - I guess the volume says it all though, it's slow death now
2  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: November 10, 2015, 01:29:06 PM
Cryptsy, has still told me the same thing that I already know (to reset my password). Both times on different days I tried to reset my password, the given password does not work. So I am left out of my account with 0% chance of getting back in. Do yourself a favor and withdraw your coins. Many of us will be taking them to court and I can't wait to see them file for bankruptcy after we do.

I have access to my account, but they are simply not processing my withdrawal - pending 4 days now. One generic reply from support.
3  Economy / Exchanges / Cryptsy btc withdrawal problems on: November 08, 2015, 12:42:33 PM
Anyone else have problems getting BTC out of Cryptsy. My withdrawal still pending after 66 hours. Dumb "technical problems" response from support. Doesn't say much for their platform if you can't withdraw from it ffs!

I've had a 5 btc withdrawal pending for over 24 hours - truly awful service.
5  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: CRYPTODOUBLE.COM - 100% PROFIT IN JUST 100 HOURS - 5% REFERRAL COMMISSION on: January 11, 2015, 07:44:06 PM
Guys - it's clearly a Ponzi - but that doesn't mean you won't get your money.

"A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation where the operator, an individual or organization, pays returns to its investors from new capital paid to the operators by new investors, rather than from profit earned by the operator. Operators of Ponzi schemes usually entice new investors by offering higher returns than other investments, in the form of short-term returns that are either abnormally high or unusually consistent."

If people keep making deposits then there is enough to keep paying out - until such time as the owners close the scheme and keep all the coin on deposit at that point or it simply runs out of investors - that's the classic Ponzi. You might get lucky or you might lose a finger in the door when it slams ;-) And of course don't ever invest more than you can afford to lose.

Me, I'm in for a little - hoping to get a payout before it folds. Nice website...

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: April 12, 2014, 09:59:03 PM
Why the F does anyone buy ASIC when you can move on with a GPU to new algorithms and keep your profits consistent?

ASIC resale value in one year 10% of original cost
GPU resale value in one year 80% of original cost

Don't think so? Look at the suckers on eBay trying to sell their Jalepeno and Antminers for a ton less than they paid already because they barely make $1/day. Look at 2 year old GPU prices on eBAy, min 80% of MSRP.

ASICs arrive when the seller is sure the difficulty is increased enough for it to be worthless for the SELLER to use them, so he ships them in a box to you.

Why would anyone bother with ASIC? Because power consumption is at least 10 times lower is one reason, even with Gridseed. Agreed there's no resale value - your profit is in what you hope to mine. When they are no longer profitable, pull the plug and toss 'em. Also, very much doubt you will get 80% back on your thrashed old GPU's - it's hard to move relatively new ones at the moment.

Seems to be so much negative stuff on here I just wanted to put in a positive word for Alpha. So my situation is I had two Vipers on pre-order then ran out of cash. I cancelled both, at different times. First I thought I could hang on to one then didn't have enough for that either. Alpha have been prompt and courteous in refunding me on both occasions even though I have been a bit of a nightmare customer! To the haters - if you don't like the warranty, don't buy the product. And don't buy the product if you don't want the risk - nobody is FORCING you to buy anything ffs! So stop whingeing like a bunch of babies, make a decision like grown-ups do and own it. Good luck Alpha and those of you that are still in the running - hope you all make sacks of coin.

Regards new features, I'm sure it has been mentioned before but just to second it, the ability to test over a configurable time span would be the nuts. Thanks.

wooohooo - it just appeared! thanks butterbot!
11  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: March 06, 2014, 02:41:23 PM
With the right settings, this bot can make 3500% or more per year on Bitstamp or BTC-e. That performance is actually leaving the bot on for the past year and not turning it off during the 2 major downtrends that took place. If you had shut off the bot during those downtrends, the bot would have made 5500% in a year. Of course, you need to use the correct settings to get that kind of performance.  Wink

Knightlife999 - goddamnit, I am struggling to make 1 tenth of those percentages!

13  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you consider OKpay to be trustworthy? Why or why not? on: February 14, 2014, 09:47:28 PM
I became convinced OKPay were scamming because I could not get any information from customer support regarding a £5k deposit. It seems my money got left behind when they changed banks for processing GBP payments but they never told me this. Eventually I got my money back when my bank made some calls for me. To be fair to them, I don't think they were scamming me now but the level of information from customer service was very poor. This was a lot of money for me and they just could not tell me where it was!

15  Economy / Services / Re: B-BOT: New MtGox EMA Trading Plataform on: February 09, 2014, 10:18:02 PM
Newbie question on thresholds - saw this way back:

4. You can set two different thresholds for buy and sell commands. You will be notified when the EMA value passes threshold 1 but the bot will only trade after the EMA value has passed threshold 2. Thats 2 threshold for buy and 2 thresholds for sell that you can set.

question - if threshold 1 just triggers notification, how come it seems to change profitability in testing?

Thanks for any help
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: okpay scammed me of $2000 and they are used by btc-e and mtgox on: February 04, 2014, 08:13:58 AM
OKPay is run by Mayzus Financial Services (see website footer) which is a registered UK Company and licensed by the Financial Services Authority in the UK. All that means it should be a fairly safe bet. Have to admit I didn't check out the forums before using them though - won't make that mistake again.
17  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Have OKPay ripped you off? on: January 31, 2014, 11:54:55 PM
Voice Commerce 'were' the company processing GBP payments for OKPay. So to make a deposit to OKPay, I pay my GBP to a Voice Commerce account managed by OKPay. Then I think OKPay wire money out of that to their own bank and then input it to their system and make it available to me as an OKPay balance. The problem with my deposit I think was that OKPay were in the process of closing their Voice Commerce account and switching to a Deutsche Bank account, so my money got as far as Voice Commerce then just stopped! The problem was that they simply gave no information about this at all at the time and I just panicked and assumed they ripped me off...
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do not be a victim of OKPAY on: January 30, 2014, 09:07:22 AM
I did use them twice with smaller amounts and had no problem. But you have to have a service you can rely on with larger amounts.

I think it probably wasn't a scam in my case, but when you have £5k of your money just disappear, there is no information at all from them and, even worse, they are obviously not even reading your support tickets then you do start to worry. It may be I was just unlucky and got caught out by their change of banking, but that shouldn't really need to affect their customers.

It all says something bad about the way the company is run and I certainly would not use them again.
19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITSTAMP SEPA account "no transfer" countries/banks' list (upd 2013-11-23) on: January 29, 2014, 05:06:01 PM
So if my bank is on the banned list on bitstamp I can't withdraw/deposit any money with SEPA?

Is there other options /  other good exchange for bitcoins or do I need to change banks?

Maybe btc-e if you go through OKPAY

Please don't  use OKPAY - see my thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=433716.0

Hi - my bank got my money back for me today. They contacted Voice Commerce Ltd. in the UK who the payment was made to originally. They were acting as payment processor for OKPay for GBP transactions. Once my bank spoke to them, the refund was instant. Since I made the payment, OKPay have changed their bank for GBP deposits, it's a Deutsche Bank account now. Voice Commerce told my bank that there had been lots of problems with OKPay so they froze their accounts.

If you are still waiting for money I recommend contacting Voice Commerce directly or ask your bank to, if that was who you made payment to of course ( http://www.voicecommercegroup.com ) . If you paid in a different currency to a different bank then contact them directly. It may be there are similar problems between them and OKPay that are causing delays.

OKPay themselves are either very dishonest or very incompetent. Either way, DON'T USE THEM.
