1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Buying $20 BTC without verification on: August 14, 2018, 09:34:42 AM
In my opinion the main reason for crypto not being widely used is that it is so darn difficulty to get your hands on some. I recently did an unofficial survey among user on my site (+-5000 users) and 85% of them said they do no own any crypto. The main reason they stated was that it takes way too much time/eefort to buy even as little as $5 of BTC, that is phone verification, ID verification, ID with selfie verification, CC verification, and sometimes even proof of address - all of this to get $5 of BTC - no wonder it is not widely adopted.

I completely understand the entire idea behind KYC and money laundry. But surely no one is going to launder money in such small amounts.

My idea is to create a website were you can buy a max of $20 (or maybe $50) using CC. Your credit card is then recorded and you will not be able to make another payment on the site (or maybe only after a year or so). Hence, if you can only buy $50 per year, there is no way you can launder money.

By question to the community, from a legal perspective, what problems could I face if I sell such small amounts via CC without requiring any kind of ID verification? Why is no-one else offering this? I know there are other ways (localbitcoins, buysomebitcoin, etc), but these methods are slow, unreliable, often require a minimum of $50/$100 purchase, and in a lot of cases still end up requiring ID verification, not even mentioning the excessive fees/commission. If you limit customers to $50 a year, clearly there is no way to funnel money on a large scale, and there shouldn't be any need for KYC. Also, are KYC policies required by law, or are these just nice-to-have guidelines?
2  Economy / Services / Anyone use CryptoVoucher? on: July 24, 2018, 10:25:59 AM
I recently came across cryptovoucher.io which according to their page allows you to buy vouchers on other third-party websites, and then redeem them into crypto currency on their website.

Tried google-ing them, but couldn't find any proper review. Has anyone used them before? Are they a scam? If you redeem the voucher, can you send it directly to your own wallet, or does it go into a wallet that you have to create with them?
3  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Some Explanation on Verified PayPal Account on: May 11, 2018, 07:46:09 AM
I currently have a small website that accepts crypto payments between $1-$20, with around 200 users. Many users complain that I do not have CC payments, so I want to bring in PayPal. For this I want to get a pre-verified PayPal account. I've read everything I could find on this topic, but there are still some things that are unclear. Some clarification will be greatly appreciated.

I need the following from the PayPal account:
- Handle around 5000 users (in the long term) who pay between $1 (monthly) and $20 (yearly). I estimate around $1000-$2000 payments a month.
- Be able to use the money to purchase crypto on localbitcoins or virwox. I'm not going to link a CC to the PayPal account.
- I do not want the account to get closed after a few weeks.
- Willing to pay $30-$80, depending on what is offered.

So a few questions:
1. Do I need a personal or business account for this? I want to have as little restrictions on the account as possible, and make it look as business-legitimate as possible.
2. A lot of these accounts come with a VPN/proxy. Do I have to use the one provided to login to PayPal (that is the exact same IP), or can I use my own US VPN?
3. Can I change the details afterward, eg name, email and business name?
4. A lot of these verified accounts come with either a VBA or virtual debit card. Can those be used for payments? Which one is better? For instance can I use the debit card to buy on localbitcoins? Can I do anything with the VBA, or is that only for verification purposes?
5. Related to the above, what options are there to withdraw the funds from the account if I do not link my own bank account or card to it?
6. What are the typically daily/monthly receive limits on a personal and business account?
7. Does the age/maturity of the account matter? I see a lot of them are a lot more expensive if the accounts are eg 90 days old.
8. Are these account typically closed very soon by PayPal, or will they be usable for longer periods of time?
9. Any suggestion where to buy one (cheaply and reliably, and pay with crypto)?
4  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payment Gateway that accepts CC and pays out in Crypto on: April 06, 2018, 08:14:50 AM
Thought as much, but thanks.

A bit weird that no company has popped up that does this. I understand the issue of money laundering if you have instant payment (or conversion to crypto) without an account or ID verification. But accommodating small payments of up to eg $50 would make money laundering on a large scale impossible, but provide an nice and easy-to-use transition between fiat and crypto. Kind-of like ShapeShift, but just adding fiat currencies as an additional option.
5  Economy / Service Discussion / Payment Gateway that accepts CC and pays out in Crypto on: April 06, 2018, 06:21:05 AM
I have a website that charges $1 - $5 a year for a subscription. Until now I used a simple crypto payment facility - cheap and easy to setup.

The problem is that many of my potential users (about 95%) don't really know anything about crypto, and even if they do, they don't want to create a wallet and purchase some coins at an exchange.

I still want to continue accepting crypto, but want to allow people to pay with a credit card and/or PayPal.

Does anyone know of a payment gateway that accepts CC/PayPal (and possibly crypto itself) and pays out in crypto? I basically don't want to handle any CC or PayPal accounts, all that should be done by the gateway, I simply want to get the income paid into by BTC/BCH wallet on a monthly basis.
