1  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you accept army teachers or not? on: July 30, 2018, 12:00:51 AM
I don't think it is a terrible idea. I wouldn't want to force the teachers to carry a gun if they didn't want to. I think it should be a concealed carry thing. Honestly, it is impossible to get rid of guns. if the school isn't getting attacked with an assault rifle than its getting attacked with a shotgun, or a handgun, or a pipe bomb. None of that is going to stop. there are to many guns in circulation for that. Its just plain unrealistic.

I have personally been in environments where almost everyone had guns. They were all trained to handle and use them. they all knew how to care for them etc. The guns were all out in the open and everyone knew. I didn't find it to be hostile in any way and the guns themselves weren't a big deal.

The idea behind having teachers with guns is that someone with bad intentions knows that if they try anything wild they will be met with appropriate force in response. that is their deterrent.

I have heard of several people that were in violent situations and had stated to the media that they wish that they had a gun to protect themselves. I know that I personally would prefer to have the ability to fight back.
2  Other / Off-topic / Re: Daily Cursing of Americans nowadays as intense as Russians at 1990. on: July 25, 2018, 02:16:23 AM
I don't think US Americans much care what anyone thinks of their cursing except maybe their mothers, and even then the mothers might be just as bad.
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about Hitler? on: July 22, 2018, 10:11:38 AM
No matter the validity of his ideologies,  Hitler was responsible for the death of millions of people. So he's no hero
The history book would have been totally different if Germany and it's allies had won the second world. No one would have known about the Jews holocaust at all and they would have been very close to extinction.

You are right. The history books would have been different. But, what if the NAZI's had won and they just normalized the extermination of all non Aryans? I believe that is ultimately what they wanted.
4  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are we going towards a matriarchal society? on: July 22, 2018, 09:49:54 AM
I don't think that we are headed to a matriarchal society. I honestly believe that women in general really do want to be led by men. Sure, some women want to have cool jobs and power etc. But, I think that for the most part most women want a man to take care of them and lead them. I think women really want to make babies and build families. That's their natural instinct.

Eventually the pendulum will swing back and men will get tired of pretending to be women and they will "man up" again. Also, I don't know any women that are interested in these sissy boy types at all. They aren't attracted to it, they don't like it and they don't want it. Gay men might like it though I guess.
5  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dilemma in life. Need help! on: July 22, 2018, 09:09:32 AM

Just as I get out from school, I am a jobless, helpless and penniless guy, everyone tell me to take responsibility,

Not everyone come from a well made family.
I don’t think I have the opportunity to having my own car or even a house, I know most of my friends come from very wealthy family, because they have so much money to spend.

I am worrying what is the future for me, please guide me to the right direction.

I suggest that if you don't have a job go get one. Then you wont be penniless or helpless. Then you will have an opportunity to get a car and a house, etc. Don't worry about what other people have. Its not going to help you. Good luck!

6  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mr Trumps trade war is fair trade .. Slap more tariffs on everyone.. on: July 15, 2018, 05:28:18 AM
Sure, working with the Brits would be fine. I just suggest that your Prime Minister pull the trigger on Brexit and cut out the EU. You guys are tough enough and smart enough to stand on your own.
7  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people go into prostitution? on: July 14, 2018, 09:11:52 PM
I see a lot of reasons on this thread stating that poverty, frustration, sexual assault etc. are often the reasons behind getting into it. And where as I do agree, I also think that some people just want to make quick easy money (I also don't believe it really is easy money. I'm sure its a very ugly thing).
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are the reasons to support war? on: July 14, 2018, 09:03:45 PM
I think the justifiable reasons for war are to protect yourself from an aggressor or to protect others from an unjustifiable overwhelming force. At this stage in human development i see no other justifiably reason for war. If you think I am wrong I’m more than happy to hear other points of view.

What about preemptive strikes? If some country thinks that another nation is making preparations to attack them, then the former may launch a sudden attack in order to gain an upper hand. This was the justification given by Nazi Germany for invading the USSR.

I suppose it depends on the aggression level and the rhetoric coming from that country. If they are talking like "We mad, we blow you up!" and they start launching bombs in your direction to try and provoke a response than they are giving you no reason to believe that they wont attack. but, maybe you should just hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Personally, I would hate to be the first one to make a move on anything other than peace talks.
9  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA Verses Russia-Military power on: July 14, 2018, 08:54:33 PM
I don't think that they want a war with each other. Especially a nuclear war. I think ultimately cooler heads would prevail. As far as a matchup between the two, the US would have a hard time. They have been demilitarizing for the eight year period of Obama and under Trump have only begun to build back up. I don't know what Putin was been doing but I'm willing to bet he hasn't been limp wristed about the Russian military.

Also, I found the following point to be a good one.

Russia + China hold all the gold, the US holds $20 trillion in debt.

They can just destroy the US financially without firing a shot.
10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: $50,000 electric car or $45 carbon filter on: July 14, 2018, 07:13:35 PM
I think that the $45 filter is a cool temporary help but in the long run we should be moving to electric cars.

That being said, Im curious as to the source of energy that is used to charge that electric car. If it is coal or nuclear power than I really think we should be working towards something else. That isn't to say that we need to immediately kill all those jobs that coal and nuclear power create but transition to something else. The sooner the better.

I am very skeptical about the real effect of the filter on cars emissions, I mean, this carbon dioxyde can be filtered and kept somewhere but it cannot be destroyed so simply just with a $45 filter or we would have no more global warming problem if it was that simple, it seems like a scam to me but maybe it help a little bit. Anyone knows how it could really work ?

Im simply making the point that it is better than nothing. But in the long term something else should be done.
11  Other / Politics & Society / Split from main thread Re: Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh on: July 14, 2018, 07:04:25 PM

Just as a side note, I think it is so silly when the left talks about reversing roe vs. wade. I very seriously doubt that they are going to go back and dust that one off. And even though I personally don't believe that abortion is a good thing, I would be upset if they did reverse it at this point. The decision has been made, move on to other things.

Yes us leftists are just silly to worry about something like that when the POTUS is literally the most anti-abortion president to ever sit in office.

I find it silly when the right talks about taking away a persons rights on what to do with their own body, safely and legally.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAhkdfeV-DU

There are a lot of things that point to this administration being against abortion, with out a doubt. But, that is the stance that a majority of the Republican party take on this issue. I don't intend to have a debate about abortion with you on this thread. So I will just say that I was wrong to say that it is silly of you to have that concern. However, I am fairly certain that they will not go back and reverse that ruling.

President Trump blasts NATO allies, says “Germany is totally controlled by Russia,”

Yes, that one was easy to see coming. The Russian pipelines, the careful manipulation of the German population to NOT believe in nuclear power, to stop using coal, to do all the "Green things..." a path that purposefully led them into energy dependance on Russia.

You say it was easy to see, but I wasn't looking. Thanks for pointing it out!

I wonder how this all plays out with the whole Russia collusion story? I know this question sounds stupid but, any connection you think?
13  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Alternatives to death penalty? on: July 14, 2018, 08:58:02 AM
I don't know if the death penalty curbs criminals from committing crimes or not, but I do believe that some crimes are just to outrageous and the only justice that can be had is from the death penalty. Also, some people just prove themselves to be too dangerous to be allowed to live.

Why would they be sending oil to Cuba and not getting paid for it? It doesn't make sense to me?

16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh on: July 14, 2018, 06:31:08 AM
My understanding is that he is a pretty good pick. I hear that he is pretty close to the center politically and I don't think that is bad. I kinda wish Trump would have picked someone a little younger though. But, Kavanaugh is in his 50s and the people on the Supreme Court tend to stick around for a while, so I guess that's not too bad.

Just as a side note, I think it is so silly when the left talks about reversing roe vs. wade. I very seriously doubt that they are going to go back and dust that one off. 17  Other / Off-topic / Re: Some parents can't say no to their children. on: July 14, 2018, 06:18:29 AM
I think if you always cave to your children's wants it hinders them in the future. I think that might be part of the problem with the western world these days. To many people believe that they are entitled to whatever they want when that simply is not the case. You cant always get what you want and that is a lesson that needs to be learned early.
18  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe the news ? on: July 14, 2018, 04:58:02 AM
I don't often believe the media. A lot of times its just garbage and you have to check around on a story and do a little research to even get close to what is really going on.

Also, the media is completely biased whether you watch the left or right. They tell you what they want you to hear. They are both guilty of this. But, you cant often blame them. Its nearly impossible to present a story and not share an opinion or show it in an opinionated light, due to the fact that the people covering the story have opinions. It can be as simple as inflection of speech.

Finally there are often corporate interests involved. Its hard to stay in business with no sponsors.

The EU seems like a joke to me and I am amazed that the people of the EU countries put up with it. They are unelected people dictating law to the people! Why cant each country make their own trade deals?

As far as Trump's trade war is concerned, I think its a great thing. You don't want to make a mutually beneficial deal? Fine. We just wont buy your crap. I can tell you that I don't need Canadian or Mexican Steel or Aluminum. I don't need Spanish olives. I don't need French wine. I don't need any Chinese crap at all! As a matter of fact I don't want it! I think that a majority of US Americans would agree with me when I say I would prefer to buy US made. As far as I'm concerned its a better quality anyway. I cant buy a pair of jeans these days that last more than four months, where as I have had a pair of US made jeans for years and I still wear them! I had an old man give me a bunch of clothes for free because he wanted to clean out his closet. They were made in the 60s and I am still wearing them.
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who to blame: the people or the government? on: July 11, 2018, 07:38:41 AM
I am from the United States and I believe that our government is comprised of the people. If there is an issue with the government than the people need to fix it. If our leaders aren't working than they need to be replaced. If government policies aren't working for us than we need to demand they be changed.

So, who is to blame for the faults of the government? I say it is the people.
