OK! For other people with this problem. I did not have the folder Ighor described, after creating it and adjusting the write permissions the application works.
Thanx Ighor

See my post above.

Checks if the folder exists, if not create it (in finder go to /Users/YOUR_NAME/.config/). Make sure read and write are enabled for all users (not sure if thats needed, but it worked for me)

Hope it helps

Hi Ighor, as promised, a donation of 0.5 litecoin is heading your way for your great work on QT Bitcoin trader, your work is much appreciated.
I use the program because its so easy to use, i could use the btc-e website but your program makes it so much easer.

I have been playing around with the rules, but i'm a bit confused there. I made a rule for LTC/BTC: "if market sell price goed less then 0.03050 spend all my funds at market sell price" with some other sequential rules when prices rises and lowers again. At the starting moment I have all my funds in BTC. So i would expect to buy LTC for all my BTC when the first rule hits. But nothing happens. When the rule hits it just says processed and the next one jumps to processing, but no order has been created for the rule that was hit.

Do I misunderstand the way the rules work?

Hi. This is a permissions problem. I'll fix this soon.
But you can fix it manually now. Check write permissions to folder: /Users/YOUR_NAME/.config/QtBitcoinTrader

Hi Ighor,

Thanks for your great peace of software, much appreciated, will make a donation as soon as i get it working properly.

I downloaded the latest version for my mac from sourceforce, all works fine in the beginning but it seems stuck. I have created new api key and secret on btc-e, entered the info on the first (add profile) screen with valid password but on the next screen the only choice is 'default profile'. When i enter my password i just come back in the first (add profile) screen.

Tried it in my VM with Windows 7, works like a charm. I can choose profile BTC-E[ProfileName] and after entering the password the program starts.

Seems to be some issue with OSX. Tried to uninstall, and install again. Same result. Tried to create new api key / secret. Same result.

I use OSX 10.9.1 (Mavericks).

Any idea?

I think the biggest concern would be that the person you're giving it to would end up forgetting a password or something like that. It may sound ridiculous to you but not everyone's Internet savvy, so I'd say it's very important to also give that person maybe a printed document which explains the basics.

Most people are used to passwords these days. But I would recommend against giving coins to your grandmother Wink
I had trouble enough explaining what the hell 'internet' is. Good luck explaining crypto currency Smiley

Hi, I'm new to this forum and was just curious if anybody gave bitcoins, lightcoins or any other alt coins as a Christmas presents.

I would never do it, its not personal enough for me, but with all the buzz about bitcoins lately I wouldn't be surprised if whole families have exchanged bitcoins as presents this Christmas!
