1  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think of North Korea? on: May 24, 2018, 01:32:51 PM
The one thing that most of the people interested in NK forget, is that even if it IS that bad in there, as most defectors describe, the "perceived" of NK's inhabitants is most likely not that negative.
This is simply because they can't compare it to something else.
It just is the way it is.

I saw a little documentary about a few defectors and they all said the same in some way:
Yeah it is nice to have a lot of food, but  they were happier before. Life was easier, less stress and competition.
I think it was this documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyqUw0WYwoc&t=973s

What's your opinion on that?
2  Other / Meta / Re: Forum moderators deleting posts they don't like? on: May 21, 2018, 07:38:03 AM
Well it seems that I have stung in a wasp‘s nest ;-)

So am I being right in my assumption that this all just happened bc one of the posters disagreed and hit the report button. A mod just hit delete because it seemed redundant or whatsoever?
Well ok then I should report 80% of the posts I read for either bad english (hardly readable sometimes), just stating random facts or unrelated to the OP‘s question ...

Just for the record, I really try to discuss (that’s why I am mostly in the politics forum). But most people just post stuff to rank up (sadly).
3  Other / Meta / Forum moderators deleting posts they don't like? on: May 20, 2018, 07:41:43 PM
Hi guys,

it's is very weird, but this is the second time one of my posts got deleted. Both were related to a religious discussion.
My posts didnt offend anyone, we not racist or sexist or something like that at all.
They responded to a previous post, they related to the actual topic of the thread.

What both posts had in common: both were contained critical thoughs about christianity (not offensive!).

When my first post was deleted I had the strange feeling that it just got deleted, because the moderator didn't like my opinion. And this time it's the same.

How come, that a post basically being the same as mine but with an opposite opinion doesn't get deleted, but mine is. Even though it should be fine - at least how  I see it compared to the forum rules.

Are the moderators here are all hardcore-pro-christians and biased in a way?

I'm just curious, if anyone feels offended, I'm sorry.
4  Other / Politics & Society / Re: OBAMA was the best President in the world on: May 20, 2018, 01:28:45 PM
Still there is one big question? How do you define ‚the best president‘? In this forum a lot of guys kinda recite wikipedia like you shalasrilanka.
Noone asked when he was elected or that kinda stuff.
It always feels like alot of guys just post random stuff just to make posts ...
Truth is veryone has different ideas of the quality of a president, so everyone has his or her own best president.
We should argue about these qualities, like trutel did woth abbas! Although I dont fully agree with him.
5  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How should a world government look like on: May 19, 2018, 03:44:01 PM
I don‘t think a world government would automatically lead to a totalitarian state that just serves its rulers. I think of it alittle bit like the galactic republic in star wars. Just one big council, like the UN is today, only with actual power. I also don‘s see how this would lead to extinction of local culture and creation of mediocre men. This could happen though, but it happens also today.
6  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Islam kill Christians? on: May 19, 2018, 08:22:29 AM
The question should actually be: why do fundamentalists kill people who think different!
Because they define their own worthiness solely by what they consider unworthiness of others.

It’s pathetic i no. But we all do this in one way or another. Nobody wants to feel worthless.
Most people try to increase their worth by actually doing something meaningful.
Some (the fundamentalists) overcompensate by doing what they believe not just meaningful but epic by following their gods/leaders will. They are too stupid or blind to see that they are just exploited.

Same goes for christians too btw.
7  Other / Politics & Society / Re: OBAMA was the best President in the world on: May 19, 2018, 07:29:33 AM
There were a lot worse presidents, but to call him the best in the workd is a bit too much. How many other presidents do you even know?
Well I liked him because he was different in a good way. But why all the drone bombing?
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Socialism vs capitalism ,which one is good for us ?? on: May 19, 2018, 07:24:45 AM
I’ve read alot of different opinions in this thread and it happened waht always happens. People start talking about a word they think has a clear meaning but actually has not.
Before we keep talking we should actually define what ‚socialism‘ means to you.

Socialism in the way marx though about: a basic democratic socienty whre everyome has the chance to persue his or her personal ideas.
Socialism ‚soviet style‘ (ignoring mhalf of marxs‘ texts): actually a better suited word for it is ‚stalinism‘ a oligarchy/dictatorship under the proclaimed ideals of socialism. The people are oppressed to fulfill ome or a few men‘s ideas. Individualization is suppressed.
Social-democratic countries like austria: free markets but heavily regulated to reduce the negative effects of capitalsm (like the rich getting richer) but harmess its potentials, like free persuit of ideas.

I personally would love to see a real socials/marxis society to be created. Aworld where I can live my dreams free from the need to make money.
Realistically a social-democratic socienty is the best way to live. It‘s easy to implement in short terms.
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you agree when people use prophets for fun? on: May 17, 2018, 07:26:52 AM
In an open society it shoulbe be allowed/possible to mock any public person (even if fictional). If someone is offended, it's their problem.

There are borders though! And sometimes those are crossed. Then those persons should be made aware of that.

Btw the japanese and ethiopian emperors are not prophets. You are mixing up a few things here man.

Do you really think Jesus would be angry at you if you mock him. I think he would join you laughing about himself - like many other people too.
10  Other / Politics & Society / How should a world government look like on: May 16, 2018, 03:08:55 PM
Hi guys,

I am a big fan of democracy and wonder if it could work if the whole world would be united in one giant union.
Would such a government consisting of more than 100 nations even be able to act anymore?

I think to be able to effectivly rule, there is a need for a few people who have real power, like the roman triumphirate, At least for the administration. They should be elected for a few years, maybe for a lifetime. But the parliament should be able to unseat them.

Seperation of power is necessary to imho.

What are your opinions on that? How do you imagine such a government?
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have we lost the power to control our futures? on: May 16, 2018, 02:51:09 PM
I know a lot of people who complain that yesterday everythimg was better, that poverty rises, fear of migration, foreign influence etc.
But when I ask those people what they are planning to do about it they all say they can‘t do anything.
Bit it would be so easy to do little things that in the end would some up.
It‘s not that we lost our power to shape our future, itös that we lost our will it seems.

Complaining and hoping that someone else will fix our problems is just way more conveinient.
And without making your own hands dirty you even get to complain if someone fails trying.
12  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think of North Korea? on: May 16, 2018, 02:42:32 PM
What I don‘t get is why the US and south korea dont cancel their millitary maneuvers for this year, or postpone them at least.

I totally understand that north korea is offended by these actions, especially now as they are actually talking peace (or denuking).

I Think North Korea is one of the most powerful country in the world

It's a dangerous country - that's for sure.

But don't forget they have very old equipment! And their men are very likely to desert once they cross the border, because of the bad state of the army.

Still they could do quite a lot of damage to south korea!
15  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the real problem of man? on: May 15, 2018, 03:16:25 PM
Mankinds real problem is that we are a race of greedy, selfish apes don't look beyond tomorrow.
This is of cource a little exagerated and not true for all people.

But I see it alot, even here in the forum: people are so shortsighted and just think of themselves. They don't even try to understand the context of other people.
That's the root cause of all our problems.

I don't mean that we shouldn't have different opinions, that's totally ok, as long as everyone take into account the wellbeing of the rest of the people too.

Example: free gun access in the US.
Here in austria only only hunters, sportsmen, and police officers have weapons. The crime rate is like about 1% of the US. There are nealy no situations where someone "accidentally" shoots someone else. There are NO shootings in schools etc.

I could buy a gun though if I wanted to. I just have to take a course, and buy a license.

I don't understand how ANYONE could argue against those (very little) restrictions at all.
It's prooved that they make the lives of everyone safer.

In the US people always complain about those restrictions blablalbla, like little baby's whole lolly was taken away by another kid. Noone talks about taking away our guns!!!!!!! You just shouln't be able to buy one in a few minutes without registration and license.

Everyone who is complaining about such limitations obviously doesn't care about anyone else - selfishness^100. That's just not ok.

16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Stop the taxing of online sales! on: May 15, 2018, 03:07:13 PM
It's a bit shortsighted to think a state just has to take care of "security".
What about education, or taking care for the poor, or building infratructure, and many more things.

I think the population of the world is okay. It's not small.

Gow can it be "okay"? OK in a way it could be less, or more?

Don't forget, the population numbers are rising. Is this okay too?

If God asks me to kill my children, I have no choice than to obey because he was the one who gave the children to me so he can take them away as and when he desires.

OMG! just OMG!

Is it ok, if I give you a car as a present and then just take it away. Do I really have the right to do this?
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: Jesus Christ is comming back here on: May 15, 2018, 02:59:24 PM
You guys are all too blind imho, to see the truth behind all your religious texts.
It is not even important if Jesus lived as a real person (or god or whatever).

Don't missunderstand me: I try to live after his example. But the important thing is just to try to live like he told us. If someone just invented him as part of a story to tell us about "christian" idea(l)s, or if someone really lived like that make not difference in any way.

An example:
A fried of you tells you that he has a guy friend who said you are the greatest guy ever! You don't know that guy and there is no way of you ever meeting him.

Now is there a difference if the guys does exist or not? Remember: you will never know if he is even real. You just have to trust your friend about it.

It feels good anyway, right?

And that's all behind bible, thora etc. You rely on a guy telling you something. That's ok. We all do this all the time.

The important part here is just, that we remember that it is that way. And not that you friend told you the absolute truth!
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can facebook change the way you vote ?. on: May 14, 2018, 05:21:11 PM
I personally think I can't easily be manipulated by (social) media. I always try to make up my own mind, by discussion, by researching etc.
But you can never be sure. We all can be manipulated by using certain psychological tricks.

I may be special here (I overthink almost everything ...), but I can see that most people, even near me, fall for the easy stuff: they trust what they here most! It's crazy. But they believe the guys that "scream" the most. And I think this is the main problem here.
People are too dumb, lazy or both to really think about what they hear and see. If the see a guy like trump shouting racist stuff about mexicans  the 1000x time, then they believe him.

It's way easier to blame others for your own problems, than think about yourself - and how you can solve your own problems. Sad but true.
