Just wanted to say thanks again to AMT and eightcylinders . We did receive our refund and deposited it and all that.

Good luck to everyone on their bitcoin endeavors.

I heard back from AMT this morning at 5:43 am MT I received the e-mail confirming receipt of my payment.

I could create a picture of it but I'm too damn tired, you can believe it or not that is your choice. Here is the content of that e-mail:

Hi Curt,

first of all I would like to apologize on behalf of the entire AMT Team that we haven't replied to you yet.
My name is Alyssa and I am dealing with the payments and the accounting, but we are so extremely swamped and short staffed at the moment, that I will try and help out by catching up on the tons of emails in the sales inbox as well - as much as I can of course.
Your check has been received as you have been previously told. I am sending you confirmation for your payment - you can find it attached.
Regarding the status that the website is showing you - I will tell the IT guys to change it, but even if this doesn't happen in a timely fashion, disregard it because I have already added you to the list of orders and this is what counts the most.
I have amended you email address as well, so we don't run in any confusions in the future.

Also I would like to thank you for your patience, I can assure you that the entire AMT team has been mobilized in the manufacturing facilities, solving issues, running tests and trying everything we can to get the machines out the door.

All the best,
Alyssa Trusten

Attached was a confirmation of payment in the form of a fully paid invoice.

They were even nice enough to correct a mistake I had made while inputting my e-mail.

Who ever is in charge there needs to let this Alyssa take front of house operations, and posting in this thread, this is the most professional response I've seen from the company. Even if it took two days to receive, which wouldn't be bad if I hadn't made prior attempts with no response.

I'm interested to see if anyone else receives any e-mails today If you do I'd at least post that you received one. It's not really fair to give them all the shit but not comment on something they might be doing right. The fact that someone is up and working at 7:45 am on a Sunday gives me some encouragement.

Note: Alyssa is the one who answered us most recently and let us know our refund check was in the mail. She seemed nice.

Alright we have word from eightcylinders that he fedex'd a cashier's check to AMT_Miners and they should have received it last Friday.

We've emailed AMT today inquiring about our refund.

Just keeping the thread updated.

Thanks,

grumpybear and his girl Wink

Jeff will send a check to the office.

Hi AMT_Miners

We're still waiting to hear back about this.

It sounds like eightcylinders has sent you PMs confirming things but they need a confirmation email or phone call or something from you before they send payment.

Thanks

Not sure how snail mail works in your part of the world but typically more than 3 days ...

Who said anything about snail mail? Read that post again. We're talking about email just for confirmation BEFORE he even sends any payments (via snail mail or anything else).
10  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 13, 2014, 05:47:28 PM
So we have a confirmed sale between between Tom W. and Jeff N.  (grumpybearsgirl and eightcylinders) Jeff will send a check to the office, once we confirm the payment  we'll shoot Tom back his refund asap by the payment of his choice. Just updating the crowd on that specific situation for Tom's refund.

I still want to know why grumby bear hasn't taken anyone up on the offer to buy their spot in line. All of this could be over by now.

I guess the queens here love the drama.

grumpybear has contacted me.. Sounds like there are several offers so I hope they pick me!!  In any case, it sounds like some lucky person (hopefully me!) will get this order.  I am very excited for the chance to get a second unit!!!!

grumpybear, I think you need to tell AMT who the lucky winner is and then that person (me or whomever) can pay AMT pronto so you get your $$ back.

Yes we picked you =) Thanks for being willing.

We've currently sent a PM to both eightcylinders and AMT_Miners about transferring order #1196 to eightcylinders and I had my fiance send an email with similar wording too for further verification.

Once eightcylinders pays, AMT has said they will refund us the exact amount we paid.

Thanks
13  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 09, 2014, 06:10:00 PM
Wow I hadn't logged on in a while.

So I just PMed eightcylinders.

We are definitely interested in trading spots if AMT will use this as a way to get us our refund.

So is AMT essentially saying once eightcylinders pays for the spot, they'll cut us a check?

Edit: Wow just noticed I have ~ 4 PMs of offers to buy as well.

Update us on what course of action you take and if/when it finally gets resolved.

Thanks, we will

Order #1196 isn't even due for delivery for another week... Asking for a refund before it is even due to be shipped, on a pre-order, is not one of those "situations", few would honor for a refund.

"asking for weeks"... That order is only a few weeks old!

"with our mortgage at risk"... What! That is a poor decision of yourself, if that is your action, buying a pre-order with the HOPE that it will make you money in time to pay a mortgage. You need personal priority adjustment. If you HAD issues with your mortgage, they existed before you made the bad choice to buy a miner. A miner, I might add, that has a break-even (at best), within two months after owning it. If your mortgage is at risk, having gains in the third month wouldn't help much.

But I digress... Don't blame others for your poor decisions, and then attempt to hold them accountable for your poor decisions. They offered us miners, we accepted the terms, and now we are getting our miners.

If you want "off the shelf" equipment, that choice has always been there. Now these will be "on the shelf", and then you can complain how they will not make you rich, and want refunds as bitcoins falls again, or as it rises, so you can get your coins back to trade for more money. That is why all these places NEED irreversible transactions. Because buyers continually try to defraud these places. Again, that was a risk you agreed to, once you hit that SEND or submit button, or made that wire-transfer.

The PR guy is doing a great job. However, he needs to stop replying to obvious trolls, who are demanding answers to stupid questions that don't pertain to him. We don't need you (the troll) speaking for us, we have our own mouths, and have gotten the answers we need. (Even if they are not the answers we want to hear.)

I offered to buy peoples orders directly. No-one took me up on the offer. They had a chance for an instant refund, and passed. So, they must not be too anxious for a refund.

Also, last time I checked, most laws state... "Within 30 days of expected delivery." That is for existing items, where delivery was implicitly stated as a "sure thing". Not for "pre-orders", where it is implicitly accepted that any statement of delivery is an "estimate of expected delivery", thus the term "PRE" before the word "ORDER".

They are not refusing refunds. They are refusing unreasonable requests for refunds, without some kind of valid reason. They have that right, as you have chosen to "give them" money to use, as an "advance", on the creation of an "order" to be "filled in a reasonable time". (Unfortunately, it is not YOU who determines what is "reasonable", it is the LAW. Which, I believe, in most countries, is 30 days beyond expected delivery. That is also in paypal's agreement, and ebay's agreement, and UPS's agreement, and FedEx's agreement, and even your CC's agreement. Which I believe CC's extend to 60 and 90, in some instances, but LAW of consumer-protection rules over most of those aforementioned contracts.)

It's been more than a few weeks, thank you lol. Try over 1 month. The point is, we don't want the hardware. Just our money back. And instead of acting like an irrate customer and flaming AMT, we have been nothing but nice about it.

We would like our money back for Order #1196, as I've said many times before and through countless emails and phone calls.

Grumpysbeargirl: What was their response to you on the phone?

Please share details with us, the more the better.

I'm sure everyone wants to see you get your moneyback and how AMT resolves this situation.

Thanks

On the phone, we talked with Jim. He kept trying to convince us that the machines were coming and that bitcoin was going to go up. He even likened our 'investment' to that of investing in a [IRA] CD. We kept pushing for the refund anyway and he said he didn't think it would happen but he would pass that along.

He kept asking why we wanted our refund and my fiance kept saying stuff about how fast difficulty is going up but the fact is we just made a stupid move by sending them the money. We just want it back.

As I've said before, we don't even want the hardware shipped out to us. We just want our money back.

We've tried to keep optimistic about this and like I said, polite, but so far, no refund.
17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 06, 2014, 06:36:31 PM
AMT you HAVE to give a customer a refund if they ask on the preorder. Don't worry about what other companies do, most of them are shit. If you don't have the money to refund a few customers who aren't patient, you shouldn't be running this business. There are laws about this, call the FTC and ask them if you can indefinitely keep customer funds for preordered product that you are using to finance your startup business when they ask for refunds...  Don't be another scammer, when a customer wants a refund you give it to them and sell their "spot" to someone else. Anything less makes you suspect. You should not have entered this business without enough financing to secure the product before sales.

Also, people. If you don't get a refund on a product like this, initiate chargeback proceedings with your credit card immediately. If you paid in bitcoin, go to your local courthouse and file a lawsuit in small claims court for the amount you paid. Don't be stupid and wait for someone else to do it for you. Make noise, get noticed, and watch how quickly the company sends you that refund.

Thank you. THIS exactly.

Thanks RickJameBTC and sirminesalot for the posts. Rick, it was a wire transfer so there is no chargeback...that's why it's even more concerning at this point.

I realize we're not the only customer who may want a refund but I feel like we've been polite enough (and I know many others have probably not been so polite) that the least you could do is honor us the refund.

We would like our money back for Order #1196, as I've said many times before and through countless emails and phone calls.

18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 05, 2014, 08:56:18 PM
Once again, we would like a refund for Order #1196. Orders are late and as stated previously by AMT, late orders have the option of receiving a refund.

The fact of the matter is, we wish AMT the best but we just want our money back, NOT the product.

Please send us our refund via check or ACH transfer or even bitcoin if that's what it takes.

We've been nothing but respectful and haven't even raised our voices in email or over the phone.
19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: January 30, 2014, 10:19:28 PM
Thanks for the update. Me and my fiance would still like the option of a refund at this point.

We talked with Jim over the phone and via many emails and are still waiting for confirmation of our refund and/or a check in the mail.

Again no offense to AMT, wish you the best. My fiance and I just made too quick of a decision and really do not want the product anymore....just our money back.

Please honor a refund for us, we'd really appreciate it and we've been nothing but nice and respectful about it.

Again that's Order #1196.

So we've been getting a good deal of calls from clients inquiring about the the case parameters and rackmount/upgrade options. We also realize that we have two types of customers, guys that know how to operate CGminer and guys that don't. Period. This thread has gotten a lot better regarding the negativity and we'd like you guys to know that you we do hear your suggestions and we do take your advice from time to time.

That's why we're going to offer a few case options to customers which ordered the 1.2. We'll show them off next week of course but for the now, one case is the standard desktop lian li, a mod between the x900 and the A77, something in the middle.

The other option would be a rackmount case similar to bitmines coindesk that we all have already seen, those that see themselves putting this in a data center for example could benefit from that case more. Both cases come up slots for upgradable modules, and upgrade modules will be available for clients starting Feb 15th, we'll figure out pricing in a bit for that one.

Next week we'll send out the two (or maybe three) options via email to current clients and you'll be able to choose which is best for you and your orders assembly. Any feedback or suggestions is always appreciated, we'd like the community to get more involved as well.

I know this isn't really the best place to do so but we have been trying to get our $$ back from AMT for a couple weeks now with various voicemails and emails sent their way and no response as of yet except 1 missed phone call returned.

If you could please, we would like our money returned for Order #1196.

We are trying not to get upset about it and be as respectful as we can.

We decided we jumped the gun and just want out. Simple as that.

Please AMT, refund our order. We'll keep calling/emailing in the meantime.

what did you order?

The 1.2 TH/s box preorder
