1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 20, 2014, 08:07:34 AM

Also on the miners page I can't find my miner using just the first 8 characters. I have to type in the full address and fo to my own page to see my stats. Thanks for any explanation.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: School Blocking Port. Port Forwarding? on: January 26, 2014, 05:20:46 AM
Yes I have. I bought my own vpn through privateinternetaccess, and have talked to their tech support. I can;t specifically enable a port and 3333 is still being blocked. I only have access to a limited number of ports. I need to essentially reroute all of 3333 through a port that I actually have open. But I don't think I can since technically the school controls all the ports still. Unless i am misunderstanding. Sorry, but I have very limited knowledge with ports and port forwarding. I'm more of a computer hardware guy and less on the coding and things of that nature. Thanks for any help.

I am on my own desktop in my dorm room. They are just blocking the port I am trying to use on their network.

My school has blocked port 3333. Are there any other ports that can be used like 80? I am using a private vpn to get around my schools security and was able to open up a few extra ports but unfortunately i am still unable to use 3333.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / School Blocking Port. Port Forwarding? on: January 25, 2014, 10:36:58 PM
So I was mining middlecoin about a week ago and then my school decided it was going to block all the ports. Specifically middlecoin uses port 3333 and the only port that my school now has open is 443. Every time I try and run my miner i can't connect because the port is blocked. Is it possible to port forward from 3333 to make all of the info run through 443? I am not very knowledgeable in this specific area and could use some guidance. Thanks for any help.

So I have been mining for a few days now. My miner was running fine and then crashed once which was nothing crazy unexpected, but now it won't run. I launch it and it says cgminer has started, but then never starts mining. I am using dual 290x's. This is the code I am trying to run.

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://www.middlecoin.com:3333 -u XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX -p password

Thanks for any help.

Anyone figure out the YUM address to receive payments on bettercoin? When you click on "here" to create an address it just takes you to google. How do we get paid?

I have been mining for about 30 min now and it says I have about 3000 shares and have a .25 payout on the side of the dashboard, yet I have no confirmed transactions or transactions of any kind. Do I ahve something set up wrong?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / New Dual 290X CGMINER Middlecoin.com on: January 05, 2014, 11:22:05 PM
I have just started mining with my dual XFX 290X's using cgminer through middlecoin.com. I have been able to maintain a hashrate of about 870 on each card with the following code.

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERECNT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
color02
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp:middlecoin.com:3333 -u XXX -p XXX --gpu-engine 920 --gpu-memclock 1500 --thread-concurrency 27400 --worksize 512 -v 1 --lookup-gap 2 -I 19 -g 1 --gpu-powertune 15

Other Computer Specs

i7-3820 overclocked to 4 GHz liquid cooled
Corsair XMS DDR3 (2x4GB)
1000W Rosewill Lightning PSU
290X reference coolers on both cards, but my temps are staying around 85 C with the fans at 100%

Questions:

1. Is there something i can be doing better with my code or is it always just about tweaking it to your specific set up?

2. Is it worth it to invest in aftermarket coolers or liquid cooling for the GPU's or just stick with the reference coolers at the current temps?

3. I am mining through middlecoin.com and roghly estimating what it says my account has mined on the site I am mining about .01 BTC per day. I know that middlecoin actually mines whatever the most profitable coin is and converts it to BTC, but should I be expecting a higher rate that .01 per day or is that roughy correct for my rig?

4. I have a friend also mining from middlecoin.com using a AMD 7850 and he is getting a mugh high difficulty that I am when mining. My difficulty is normally 300 or lover while he can be over of 2M (i think that is waht he said). Anyway, I am mining roughly 1700 accepted/m while he is much lower because of the difficulty. IS it bette rto have a higher or lower difficulty and does that effect the profitability?

5. Sometimes after I turn off the miner my computer screen starts glitching and crashing multiple times by even something like just moving the mouse or trying to open or close a window. Then I end up having to restart it multiple times and let it sit for a while before it becomes usable again. Am I frying my cards or are they tired or what?

Thanks for any answers.
