A good laugh that pole is lol

I started so i could get some extra cash to do pc upgrades I wouldnt otherwise be able to afford. I only wish I had found out earlier when the difficulty wasnt so high Sad
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When GPU mining, does quality of the rest of the components matter? on: July 11, 2011, 04:59:56 AM
An AMD Sepron and 512mb of ram will do, if it can run windows xp, it can mine coins lol thats my general rule of thumb. And as long as the PCIe 16x slot runs at atleast 4x then it will be enough to mine with Smiley

I'd be keen on buying those if they were available

Hey been mining for about 3 months now! started with a HD6850, have now moved onto a HD6950 2gb (reflashed with 6970 bios) + HD6870 for a total of 700MH/s!

Been great fun and havent had to put a single cent into my upgrades! used what i started with and when i had enough i reinvested in some bigger hardware. first the 6870, then sold the 6850 and topped up funds with BTCs to get a 6950! loving it!

Just wanted to say hi

Ok so far, at an OC of 1000MHz on the core of the 6870, im only hitting 290MH/s. At stock speeds it only gets 260MH/s. 5850 is a much better choice, of a 5870 if you can afford one.

Also, I would have to overclock the 5850 up to maybe 900MHZ before hitting 300Mhash/s.....hmm
So....5850 or 6870?
Like i previously said, my 5850 at only 850MHz gets 330MH/s. I'm going to be testing 6870 today to see how much OC is required to reach the 300MH/s mark.

The 58xx series cards have a lot more stream processors than the 68xx series, so they produce higher MH/s rates. I have been testing a 5850 and at 850MHz on core i get 330MH/s. I have just brought a 6870 which i will be testing tomorrow, i can report back tomorrow at to the difference.

5850 = 1440 stream processors
6850 = 960      "              "
6870 = 1120     "             "

Help! I have a a ATI HD5850 currently in my system, and have just got a 6870.

I added the 6870 planning to running that as a separate miner in the same rig. However the 6870 isnt being picked up by guiminer nor is GPU-Z showing that the card is OpenCL enabled. Very confused!

I knew I couldnt crossfire them, but thought they would run side by side loll

Help if you can! would love to make this work!
