from the Austrian Post Crypto Site (https://crypto.post.at/):

Almost all of the 999 crypto stamps with a golden unicorn motif, 1 gram of gold bullion and a nominal value of 50,000 eurocents have now been purchased or won in the hunt for the golden unicorn. The final stamps will be awarded by the start of October to those who have bought a crypto stamp onchain or have a crypto stamp in their collection. How to win one of the remaining stamps? You don’t need to do anything more than regularly check your collection to confirm any possible win. The stamps are awarded at random and every collector has an equal chance of winning.

You may be wondering what happened to the 1,000th stamp? The final golden unicorn weighs in a hefty 20g of real gold he only one of its kind in the world, the gold bullion it contains comes from the Austrian Mint and has a current gold value of EUR 1,110. Just like every crypto stamp, this special edition naturally also has a digital twin. And now you have the unprecedented opportunity to win this unique item!

Specifically, at the virtual live event on 5 October from 18:00 to 19:15 CET. The event will be held in German.

In addition to the prize draw, there will be an exciting panel discussion entitled “Digital collectibles: a glance at the future” with four guests:

Andreas Petersson - Managing Director, Capacity Blockchain Solutions GmbH
    Carolin Wendt - Director, Mintbase
Patricia Liebermann – Head of Product Management Philately, Österreichische Post AG
    Patrick Jansen – Digital Collector

Chairing the discussion will be Raoul Rettberg, better known as Klaus from the crypto stamp tutorials.

There’s no need to register in advance. Simply join the event on 5 October from 17:55 CET by clicking on the live-event button!

To have a chance of winning the prize draw, all you need to do is attend the event from beginning to end. More will be revealed live on the day of the event! The event will be held in German.

new raffle round of golden unicorns is out. check your crypto stamp collection with connected wallet! Next Thursday would be the last raffle round if the Austrian Post doesn't extend.

well i just checked and it is now almost $17 to add one stamp.... was $8 a few hours ago... guess I should not have waited

edit - just checked this morning and gas prices are crazy... $36 and change to xfer - I thought the point of crypto was to be better than fiat banks? Shit, I have wired 10k to China for less money using a bank.

price is lower again. perhaps you give it a try.
5  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO]-Crypto Stamps- Collectable Blockchain postage stamps on: September 14, 2020, 02:09:04 AM

you already created a collection, so try to transfer or buy at least one crypto stamp into the collection for qualifying for the onchain raffle. The chance to win a golden unicorn is about 15% each week. 3 weeks left. ;-)

The difference between onchain crypto stamp (OCS) and the normal physical CS is, that for the onchain you will have the NFT first and can request any time the physical counterpart (unfortunately you need to pay gas for every steps). Whereas the physical CS, you will have the physical stamp first but the NFT is not minted yet.

it does not matter how many are in the collection? what is the criteria to be selected? your post above says toe collect "achievements" to hunt for the Unicorn - I have 16 that I would redeem (the other 12 I will either sell or give away) I have given away a few already.

I wonder if there is any value to the one stamp with 'satoshi' in the pass phrase? lol would have been better if the stamps were based on BTC not ETH lol

What I have read is, that at the beginning the Austrian Post has planned to give priority and reward those collections with many achievements. But because of the high gas situation they changed it. It's enough if you have a collection and with at least one CS in it. Does not matter how many CS you have in your collection. So far about 31 collections with only one CS inside the collection won a CSGU.

ahh ok - I will do a few then. I have till weds/thurs so I might wait to see if gas prices go down a little - I had added enough to do about $10 each for gas so about $160 total if I do them all

holy hell.... it went up more. was near $8 each earlier now it is almost $13 to do one. what a fucking rip off...

Better before Wednesday because on Thursday they will have already selected the winners.
Austrian Post won't get any money from the high gas fees. All ETH will go to the miners.

I'm not sure why you just didn't buy an OCS stamp or two here:

https://crypto.post.at/onchainshop/

more info: https://crypto.post.at/how-it-works/#what_is_onchain

I think taciturn is saying you need an OCS stamp in your collection. Not sure about imported physicals. I do it in reverse. Buy onchain, then have the physicals sent to me via metamask. I don't recall it being super expensive, but maybe it was. The ETH network is really shitty lately, so many shit-tokens/contracts lol.

to be honest - I have zero experience with ethereum or the onchain store and did not understand the difference when purchasing - someone had posted the link to where I could pre-purchase them and I did - it just so happened it was physicals - I looked at buying the on chain ones now - and its nearly the same price as xferring the physicals nearly $12 euros each

tell me this if I buy on-chain ones, do they automatically send me the physical ones? do I have to request them? And is there a cost associated to getting the physical ones after buying on-chain ones?

edit - after reading the response right before mine - I think I will just hold onto the physicals - periodically checking gas prices and eventually redeem them when its reasonable. Sadly, this will remove any chance of winning one of the golden unicorns - though I assume that chance is slim anyways. And I wasted $15 to create the empty collection lol

In the beginning it was free using the physical CS to create the first collection and mint the first CS. But the budget has been exhausted by few egoistic people because they created many free collections and NFTs for the onchain raffle.

Not necessary to be a OCS to participate in the Onchain raffle, normal physical also works. But I agree, with all the CS2 hassles and security problems, the OCS2.0 are the safest and best anyway. It does not matter if the physical counterpart has also the same security issue, because it does not have private phrases (seed), instead it has a standard German sentence for all OCS: "sammle achievements und begib dich auf die jagd nach dem goldenen einhorn" (translation: collect achievements and go hunt for the golden unicorn).
9  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO]-Crypto Stamps- Collectable Blockchain postage stamps on: September 14, 2020, 01:40:05 AM

I wonder how many people missed the unicorns in their collections and lost out.... And what happened to them if not redeemed? So many questions  Roll Eyes

I just created a collection cost $12 - tried to add the first stamp and its nearly $9 to add each one. This will be super expensive....

that said, if I go to https://crypto.post.at/wallet/<enter wallet address for stamp>

and click the button the side (no idea what it says)

it pops up a message: The golden unicorn was not found here

I am not sure but I wonder if this is a way to check to see if the physicals have a unicorn assigned? without having to pay the fees to add to a collection? I have almost 30 stamps - it would cost me over 200 USD to add them all and that is kind of crazy - or am I wrong and that should be expected?

...

You misunderstood how the crypto stamp golden unicorn (CSGU) onchain raffle works. The criteria are: you need a digital collection and at least one crypto stamp in it. That's so far the minimum. Every Thursday after midnight (CET), sometimes later, the system will randomly select collections for a CSGU. You need to connect your wallet with the Austrian crypto stamp site and check your collection. If you win, you can't miss the huge full page win message. You need to claim it before the next Wednesday by filling out the address data and signing the transaction (free). Transaction is set with 100 gwei, so if ETH network has higher gas price it can take few days for the smart contract to fulfill the transaction. As long at least pending transaction or better successful transaction, everything is fine. If you see the won CSGU in your collection, then you will get the physical CSGU counterpart. This raffle will end on the 5th of October 2020.

As you already know total mintage of the CSGU is 999 (500 physical sale Onlineshop, 299 Onchain Raffle, 200 physical Raffle). So far 154 of 299 Onchain Raffle CSGU have been distributed and about 25-30 of 200 of physical Raffle CSGU have been sent to winners. Another 100 of physical Raffle CSGU reserved for the scavenger hunt game (until 21st of September 2020).
Differences between Onchain Raffle (ID 0-298, marked outside with 390000-390298, rectangle packaging), Onlineshop (Physical Sale ID 499-998, square packaging) and physical Raffle CSGU (ID 299-498, marked outside with 390299-390498, rectangle packaging): Onlineshop and physical Raffle CSGU still have the NFT in their original physical counterpart wallet, whereas for the Onchain Raffle CSGU the wallet is empty because the NFT is minted directly into your collection after the win claim.

Really great from the Austrian Post to make 499 CSGU worth minimum 249,500 Euro (gold value not included) as gifts to CS collectors/enthusiasts.

ok I thought I might have did it wrong - I just dont see the logic in paying so much just to add it to a collection, nearly doubles the cost of each stamp. but if there is a chance to win the golden one.... maybe worth it.

one question - if you add it to your collection - is there a way to xfer the onchain one if you, for example, sell the physical?

edit - well, hell I go ahead and xfer enough eth to wallet and go to start xferring the stamps - the cost to transfer went up nearly 20%....

Yeah, unfortunately it depends much on the ETH gas situation. At the moment all NFTs suffer from high gas costs.

Of course you can sell physical stamp and NFT separately. For OCS (onchain CS) you can request physical counterpart online (costs gas again), but if you sell/transfer the OCS you can't request it anymore.

50,000 euro cents = 500 Euro.

This is a valid stamp, accepted by the Austrian post office.

Theoretically, you can use this stamp to pay for up to €500 shipping fees (ie. send a parcel through the Austrian post office) Cheesy

Plus 70 bucks for the gold, so they’re losing money on this? That’s why I was questioning it

I guess, they rely on the fact that this is a collectible item, and almost no one is going to (actually) use it to dispatch items with. So, they are selling 500 Euro stamps, that very few will "redeem" the service value of it.

But still, those 500 Euro are not gone from the books. They have to keep them in accounting records and can't use them for something else. But I also agree, that they make profits from selling products/services, where most people won't use them, in this case the crypto stamps.  It's like people buying vouchers from a company and never use them. I really like the Croatian Crypto Stamps. The interactive mosaic web shop was great.

Is it possible to provide metadata for Opensea / Trust Wallet, like pic, tier, sale source,...? At the moment we see only blank IDs without pics and other metadata.
That would be great, otherwise the NFTs would be hard to be recognized without good visualization and other metadata.

Also why is the smart contract not verified yet?
Thank you  Smiley

We provided metadata for Opensea.
And we verified the smart contract.  Wink

Thank you! Smiley
It would be great if you can provide later more metadata to Opensea. On Opensea the items can have "properties" like in your case e.g. "tier" and "sale source" (crypto / physical). If there are thousands of Postereum items on Opensea it would be much easier to filter them later by the properties.

Croatian stamps (Update):

... The disadvantage is that you can buy 1 stamp per order (and hence, if you are planning to get more, you have to pay for shipping fees per order)...

It can be annoying to pay several times for shipping, but compare to the Austrian OCS1.0 it's fairer and everybody has a chance to get one OCS, instead of few people buying all the OCS at once.

Thank you,
when I enter password in Metamask, Onchain store says:
"Destination is not specified. Please, connect your wallet with the Metamask"
But Metamask is connected...

perhaps try with another browser, e.g. Chrome or Firefox or Brave.
Also there is mobile app (Android / iOS) for Metamask.

Hi,
I can't redeem a presale crypto stamp 2.0 I've bought.
I don't want add it to my collection but only to my wallet.
Any suggestion ?
Thank you
arenite

Do you mean the presale token? If yes, you can go to https://crypto.post.at/onchainshop/ with connected wallet, where the presale tokens are. Then you should see a checkbox for redeeming presale stamps. on the bottom you can choose the destination (wallet or collection). The "Use Safe Gas Estimation" can be really high, but normally it should be much less.
