Windows installation: Run the wallet-qt .exe, once loaded, shutdown the wallet. Search for the chococoin appdata folder by clicking Start, and search for %appdata%. In the chococoin folder, create the chococoin.conf file with notepad, and copy the example chococoin.conf settings as in the example with the username and password of your choice. Save the file with the .conf filetype (to do this in Notepad, ensure that the “Save as type:” drop down box says “All types”, and that the filename says chococoin.conf). Then restart the chococoin wallet, and let the blockchain sync. The fixed node is 64.90.43.131, so any problems sync-ing, add this node. To add this node, open the wallet console and enter the following line on the console tab: addnode 64.90.43.131 add

Chococoin (ccc) forever.

difficulty of mining is imperative to have a good exchange
Agreed. Chococoin (CCC) needs a good exchange, and Coinex would be the best possible start for a listing.

Scrypt coins like LTC the best way to go at the moment.

The NSA mining dogecoin, there's a thought. Perhaps it wouldn't be smart to waste resources on it, the more they tried the more other coins would pop up. Look at the marketcap of top 20 alts below from coinmarketcap. The top 20 alts add up to 3,894,217 at the moment versus Bitcoin 12,236,125 BTC. To dominate the markets they would they not have to fight a rising tide of popularity that they might have helped to create? (edit, this list below isn't quite relevant as it includes coins you can't directly mine).

12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which coin to mine? on: January 08, 2014, 09:53:50 PM
I'd suggest going with some of the newer coins picked up by more stable pools. iSpace is pretty stable, and standard interface so its pretty easy to set up once you have registered, configured your workers, and added your mining address. The 'Getting Started' link on the dashboard menu gives you sample cgminer code. My tips at the moment would be for florincoin (you can add data to the blockchain), deutsche emark (its just popular, although there are going to be a lot of coins), Chococoin (I think this might gain a large following pretty soon), and unobtanium (its one of the rarest coins, no premine). http://ccc.ispace.co.uk/
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Noob, just saying hi. on: January 08, 2014, 09:06:26 PM
Made .02 bit coins so far since I started New Year's Day. Just got the blockchain synched up tonight and saw my bitcoins show up in my wallet. Have an old laptop synching now that I will use for my main wallet, that I will only put on line infrequently when I get enough in my always online wallet to worry. I have one asicminer cube and two more on the way. Not really expecting an ROI, just doing this to have a little fun. Anyway, hi everyone!
Hi Noob. Welcome to the forum. Good luck with your cubes. Planning acquiring any other ASICs?
