1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [AUTO SWITCH] ScryptGuild (BTC Guild) Beta on: May 28, 2014, 02:17:58 PM
Worst earnings ever the lowest even lower than clevermining. This pool is a waste of time after testing it for 6 hours i give up as the earnings were tooo damn low for my 90mhs miner. I make a lot more on nicehash and wafflepool I dont see why miners would point there machines to this low earnings pool.

Wow.  So you tested a PPLNS pool for a whole 6 hours and came to a conclusion on earnings?  Good riddance.  Don't bother logging back in after 5 hours and noticing your earnings have doubled since when you evaluated them.

Huh thats no excuse for a crappy pool that doesnt make anything. I left my miner on for 20 hours still didnt make anything its a crappy pool no matter what you say. Im waiting for my payout that hasnt been paid when do payouts happen.

Nice, please go cry somewhere else since you can't seem to understand it here. And like mentioned before - since you stated many times you didn't make anything why do you care? don't go away mad -- just go away.

Sorry everyone for starting such a heated discussion over repairs.

I just finished contacting my second local college and found some interesting things about the bitmain s1 antiminer.

The motherboards are NOT normal boards and can not be soldered on. Heat will destroy them. Guess this is the future of motherboards now. They are only one sided boards with everything added in layers over layers using some form of adheasive/electrical process to make things stick and connect.

What happened on mine (and just realized it was a brand new one just got in 10 days ago) was the item pulled away from the motherboard completely. Just fell off. Piss poor workmanship all done by computers.

Of course I purchased several off ebay as new and can't return them so I'm out, my bad I guess. Anyway bitcoin is always a high risk venture and always will be for the time being.

Guess will be selling it for parts for best I can get. Just letting everyone know the motherboards are not like TV or computer boards etc. That is why they don't repair them. If they work good enough to pass test that's all they care. I have 7 computers and workstations and only 2 have similar motherboards where items (at least larger ones) can't be replaced without microscopes and some sort of fancy adhearing processs etc.

Does anyone know where I can get a bitmain S! Antiminer repaired? Seems one of the caps or something popped out approx 1/8 inch and now shows as dead. Or is it just a waste and for parts now? 1st one to go bad. Cry

Still mining on Slush with just 12.5 GH/s I had 240 GH/s going but sold miners just a few days ago. Cheesy Scrypt mining FTW

explain more of Scrypt mining! point me to the gold

I'd like to know also. I've been trying to figure it out but can't get connections - always get an error. I like the new btc scryptguild site but......

Some day will get it. Will leave 100 ghs on slush though as always have.
6  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [850 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: February 27, 2014, 11:41:49 PM
I wonder if Slush had bitcoins tied up in Mt.Gox possibly?....im just looking for excuses now lol...but it is possible...other pools arent having as bad of "luck" as Slush...I've been with slush for awhile now and he has always fixed stuff quick, but this is the first time i hopped ship. Maybe slush got hit by that flaw of the missing coins as well? along with gox and other sites...weird stuff.

yes I was thinking the same thing...

SLUSH controls all my miners and he is telling my miners to not find blocks because mtgox.

on a more sane note...
these 8 hour blocks get longer the more we have...

Ok so you dont know what im talking about.....im talking about the NUMBER of online exchanges that got hit by a security flaw with bitcoin transactions, and Slush hasnt been the same since then...I wasnt comparing Mt.Gox to slush in any way, besides saying maybe he stored coins there. Im saying MAYBE he has been hit by the same glitch and the coins are gone.

Maybe, I would hope Slush has somewhere better to put his Bitcoin - like cold storage. But maybe. Just think of all the thousands of Bitcoin lost forever if not millions, hmmm, lots of possibilities there. They will never get back the lost Bitcoins and Japan has no current laws making it easy to even get lost money back. Something again to think about.

Things are in fact shacking out overall and even CampBx has issues with ACW,s and EFT's, namely - can't do it anymore! And it now takes forever to get checks from them not their normal 10 day waiting period. Is it hitting other exchanges? Only time will tell.

But while they work it out we can keep mining.

Bless me Slush for I have sinned. I just purchased 600 GH/s of miners. At the horrid luck Slush is having it was doubling the time it would take for my investment to pay for itself. This is the first time in 6 months i Have mined somewhere other then slush's pool.

A valid reason, first one I've heard that wasn't cussing or complaining. Where did you get 600 ghs now without paying way more than worth? Anyway GL hope you get investment back and have some fun same time.

Well this is a good bye, I have jumped ship completely all my miners have been transitioned to BTC Guild.  I do not know why I clung on to Slush for so long, it was nothing but a waste of my time and hardware for the last year.  At the new pool my gear has earned more in the last 48 hours then it has on Slush's pull in the last week I was here.   I don't see it getting bad there either, The longest block so far has only been about 2 hours.

I am not sure why so many of you die hard Slush fan's can not see the writing on the wall, it is clear as day.  Your pool leader does not care about you anymore, I was stuck here since I started mining in 2011 but have finally realized what a joke he is.

Bye bye.

Slushes pool is shit there is someone on the inside stealing my work blocks just like mt gox and their stats are all fucked up as well.  Daily graph doesn't update after almost a week wot a lot of shit.

Changed to BTC guild and the interface is more in depth i like it hopefully it will work better than slush costing me money scammers

Bye bye, so long, cya, don't let the door hit ya in the butt on your way out.

You obviously are a real noob and haven't been on BTC long at all. I've been on BTC as well as Slush since I started and if you haven't seen any 3+ hour blocks over and over on BTC you haven't been there long. A 3+ hour block on BTC is like a 12 hour on Sluch. True BTC is paying better right now but has only been so like you said in the past week. And true they offer better graphics and info but overall over 30 days Slush has paid better.

Didn't like your dumb act talk anyhow and I think you are same jerk on WOW talking same way irritating everyone and getting put on ignore by 1000's of players.

So just go and be gone already.
10  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [850 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: February 26, 2014, 07:14:11 PM
I've made more on the current difficulty with BTC Guild than I did with Slush at the last difficulty. And that's with 2 days left till the next increase.

For me, the last 30 days on Slush have been the worst in almost 12 months of mining.

Hey there everone. How's it going. Sure seems like a lot of people like coming to this forum to complain yet say they are on other pools. Ok good for you - go back to your other pool and leave us alone. Most of us have tried and are still on other pools to some extent but we remain here, why.

Better payouts over time. Right now my BTC is better than Slush but on average can't compare the two since BTC has a very low payout.

And for those a little bigger why stay here, because you are a big boy here and when blocks are found get a good reward but on other pools you are just a little guy with little payouts.

My opinion. Gets so old all the complaining going on here - who cares!

Wots the

How

my graph has been climbing with the daily rewards increasing but its gone down a bit wot has caused this?

Even if I turn off my hardware fore a second will the graph go down or if i hath a powercut or if there are no blocks like in this example the 22h wait time.

if all those issues are avoided will the graph still climb? is ther a limit to this?

regarded,
myself
The graph shows your earnings per day. If you start mining and don't add any new hashing power the graph will start at it's highest and show a steady decline due to increases in difficulty. Due variance/luck the graphs values will bounce around an average value.

*sniff* *sniff* um... i think you need to change your pants.

LMFAO!!!
ROFL!!!
Ops, sorry hehehehe.  I really liked that - gone back to WOW cya

The website dose not display the blocks from the last 22 hours and so someone has disabled it and stole our mining contribution to benefit himself
Would you, please list the blocks shown HERE, but not HERE

Ahhhh, dang, why did you post that. If he can't figure it out on his own not worth answering. But I understand why the post so others can also check it out but still so so many cry babies on this forum.

thats impossible not with 850TH/s

Yes I agree its not impossible i will jump too.

Bye bye and hope you didn't have any money/bitcoin on MtGox since it is now closed taking everyone's coins and money with it. LOL.

Oh to worry so much and place blame and make false claims and curse and jump ship and on and on.

And yes I'm still here just been quiet. Grin

Are you using a graphics card for mining? Seems like it GeForce GTS 250, I use my GF graphics card for testing because so slow won't make anything just have fun. I use cgminer when I use my GF graphics card. Navidia does not use an AMD based processor or chip or whatever it is.

I have to use both log in addresses, sometimes I can't connect using stratum.ditcoin.cz:3333 etc and have to use the http://api.bitcoin.cz:8332 which then defaults to the stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 somehow.

Oh and I had to use cgminer version 3.7.2. For some reason newer versions wouldn't work with my Navidia card, maybe just my system not sure.

Hope this helps some, from one n00b to another. LOL

Yes, I am using the gts250... I know the video card does not do much, but it is all I got.

I jus ordered a block eruptor and should have it this week.

I am mostly trying to understand this process and take it from there. For now, this is definitely a hobby more than anything else.

Thanks for the help.

Good for you! Hope you enjoy your time mining BTC. You have the right attitude as a beginner thinking of this as a hobby. Some on this site are truly into BTC mining for the money but they have been at it awhile and know what they are doing.

For us beginners this has to only be a hobby and for fun. We can't afford the hardware to make a true go at it this late in the game, but it's fun anyway. And if you can make something while doing it heck jump up and down and clap your hands and just be happy.

I started testing BTC mining with an old old GeForce GS 8400 then got a nice graphics card for playing WOW which showed me that playing with BTC mining might be fun. My problem was in choosing a Navidia GeForce card thinking it would be ok for BTC mining instead of an AMD based card but I got around it and still have a great time on WOW too. Fun all around.

Oh, I'm the one that's probably driving everyone crazy with my weird posts, LOL, but life is to short, have some fun while mining and don't ever be afraid to ask a question here even if you get flamed, who cares, that's what the site is for. Some will take time to help you.

Good luck mining and enjoy Slush's pool if you are using it. Oh dang Lynch King is causing problems again and needs his butt kicked on WOW. Cya

...... In fact, last week about 50% of the hashing power got booted. Something like that certainly does and did affect luck.

Not really.

"Luck" = Submitted shares per round / network difficulty. This is not affected by a pool's hashrate.

Can you or maybe anyone answer a question for me I've had for awhile?

It seems pools do not count the shares submitted correctly or something. Are they not able to count a number over 999? For instance BTC Guild shows a total number of shares submitted per work block then a total overall. I have several single submissions that are way above my total overall shown and a lot over my shown work block when I hit like 377k submitted or 3.04m submitted.

It seems the systems miss anything ending in K or m submitted. Is this true overall. I know I had a 55 plus m submitted on Slush then found out that the pool dosen't count but only the last hour or part depending on time. Understandable and my luck wasn't with me then I guess, no problem.

But my BTC Guild is doing same and it seems they can't count the ending K or m. Is it counting a submission like 8.49k as 849. 8.49 or? It seems it is not 8,490 as I get dozens of these over and over and even the occasional 18plus m submitted.

My submission rate always stays the same on both pools give or take 2000 shares no matter that I submit numbers ending in k over and over or a number ending in m once in awhile. Just curious.

I don't know, but if you provide some examples (number of diff1 equivalent shares you think you submitted, number of diff1 equivalent shares the pool thinks you submitted) I'll see.

Ok I will try and see some that come up. I don't understand diff lvl 1 equivalent etc guess that's my problem with understanding submitted shares. Not sure what diff lvl running on Slush but BTC Guild is diff lvl 64, default is 32 and sometimes I play with 128 or higher and can see it does not really matter diff lvl as they seem to come out same in the end. Lvl 64 seems to run my boxes quieter.

What the difficulty does is cut down on the bandwidth used. if your diffculty is 1 then every share gets registered on the pool. if the difficulty is say 8, the number of shares actually is less, but you are credited 8 shares for each share returned. The down side is that if it is a really short block you may not get any shares credited. this is why difficulty is raised for for higher hash rates. they should balance out.

Thank you for taking time to help me understand so should I just set my diff to default of 32 for my hashrate or keep at 64, it really does seem to run quieter at 64 but might just be me. Smiley

Ok is this what you mean. I just had a 19.1k submitted along with 14 other 1 to 8k submissions. It showed 19.1k/64 and when block done still same no increase. I guess has to do with what you mentioned lvl 1 equivalent.

pool seems to be alright now

Pool luck (1 day, 7 days, 30 days):   147%, 100%, 103%

Just remember the pool will always go up and down, always. Slush is not stealing anything from anyone you can go see what block numbers have been mined and by who and check this against the Slush pool numbers and they will match exactly.

We have bad period and good ones, so do other pools. That's just the way it is. Don't try to over think any pool because you probably will loose trying to outguess what will or could happen.

And he is right the pool seems better now.Grin

True, maybe, BUT... The pattern I see is we have maintenance issues and then a period of horrible luck. Sometimes I think the pool 'appears' to be working fine, but behind the scenes perhaps it is not, either way we usually don't get much feedback on what is happening. I'd love to see a time-series plot of our daily blocks found overlaid with the maintenance issues or tickets submitted. My hypothesis is during times of high issues reported that our blocks solved dips significantly. From what I see it's always during and after periods with technical issues that we have horrible "luck", which really makes the 'luck' value something other than pure.

Yes this pool is slow to openly address issues if at all I agree there but don't know about other things cause way over my head. I do like BTC Guild provides so much info but still seem to be making more here by small amount. That could all change again though. LOL

I noticed Slush did use FB to celebrate the recent good luck, if we can get similar messages during maintenance and bad luck that would be ideal. I'm fine waiting it out during some technical issues, but would rather know if there is more behind the scenes influencing that 'luck' number. In fact, last week about 50% of the hashing power got booted. Something like that certainly does and did affect luck.

Oh really, I didn't know that as I don't follow anything on FB. I wish he'd be more open here it's not hard to do but what you said makes sense.

And as for maintenance issues I did notice the site was down again today for awhile, or was it late yesterday, anyway, then luck changed instantly. Go figure.
