Your ICO needs a video. Videos are the most effective tool for getting top of mind awareness for a new idea. And they can be easily shared on social media. Of course, a compelling video "could" even go viral. I know videos work because I've posted many on Linkedin and watched my number of views rapidly increase.
The two key components of a video are the script and the animation. The Script provides structure, logic, situation, your story, the problem you solve, and call to action, while the animation holds the viewers attention. It does this in 3 ways, and in the following order:
1. Movement
2. Shape
3. Color
In my opinion, a Whiteboard video is not only more affordable, but also more effective than full-blown animated explainer videos which tend to go overboard on graphics and music. Further, I think Whiteboard animations are more effective because the script is emphasized (more logic) and there's usually no music (although there can be, or even strategically placed sound effects).
** VIDEO TIP **
The first few seconds of a video must offer an immediate which compels the viewer to watch the entire video - you've got 10 seconds! Otherwise you'll lose them. This is done by basing your script on your audience's wants, needs and desires. It's a very logical process.
