1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SCRYPT] Klondike Coin, Join the Goldrush! ★Kimotos Gravity★ [Exchange] on: February 02, 2014, 02:42:47 AM
An update from the dev filled with promises will not cut it. Hell, even the Facebook app will not cut it if the majority of the coin will be in hands of people trying to make a buck on it. KDC needs a widespread adoption, possibly from people not into altcoins, to actually be a "better" coin than all the rest, and as it is now, I really can't see it happening.

Also, the community here starts to be horrible. It didn't catch on, it's okay, most coins nowadays don't. Get over it and stop acting like it's the best thing invented since sliced bread, despite everything outside of this thread pointing to the fact that KDC is, at best, in a lethargic state.

We're not sleeping, we had a lot of projects that could be finished quickly and were, other projects take more time to complete.

We're doing what we can as quickly as we can.  Considering the coin has been around only 23 days I still believe we're doing phenomenally well, not only as a development team but also the community.

The list of things we currently have on the initial post, some coins that have been around for months still don't have, that been said, there are many more things we want to implement and they will be done.

I completely agree, we need people outside of the altcoin community, however....have you tried to explain cryptocurrency to someone who has no clue? Cheesy

We're looking at ways to bring things forward outside of the general community and we really hope we are going to be able to do that.  Ideas are always welcomed and we'll seriously consider anything that people come forward with.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SCRYPT] Klondike Coin, Join the Goldrush! ★MANDATORY UPDATE!★ on: January 24, 2014, 02:42:06 AM
How long do you guys think it will take to get listed on cryptsy?  I feel like some coins have been listed much faster even with less attention.

Coin is getting stronger value wise by the day.

It's still performing well below where we expect it to be achieving, i'm glad others see the future vision as well.

Development work is a little slower over the past couple of days due to the implementation of the gravity well and having to update all the nodes and testing that's been involved but things are still going well on that front.

Honestly don't expect the coin to be valued at any less than $3 a piece not long after listing on cryptsy with the development work being done and the value the community hold the coin in (Remember supply and demand, if everyone wants to buy, and no one is willing to sell, those buy orders have to increase in offerings!)

Everyone has been great, I'm sure I can speak for other developers in thanking you all for your continued support.

I've uploaded the Wallet that's been compiled to the link on the main page.

www.klondikecoin.com/downloads/KlondikeForMac.zip

I'll have a look this evening at compiling if this is not correct.

I'll make sure this gets updated for you tomorrow.

A new Mac Wallet will be compiled within 24 hours, difficult however to test this as we only have 1 Mac environment and the original build worked on our test rig but others had issues with it, will need community feedback on this once its built.

The code is also in the process of a little clean-up and a bit of testing to try and ensure a smooth build process for anyone who wants to build themselves, I'll make sure this is thoroughly tested prior to putting it online.

Any pool owners having concerns with updating their klondikecoind correctly, drop me a PM and i'll be happy to talk you through it.

Everyone remember, although we see no issues, we strongly recommend backing up your wallet.dat file BEFORE you run the new wallet.

Warning: If you're mining on http://kdc.cryptofountain.com check your settings!

Someone activated the value for auto-payout to 1 and changed the address to "L5Dx3dBFrshxGP9fC7smP4iyrafQqH9cMS".

Could be a hack on my account or someone had access to the pool. I've send a mail to the pool-owner so he can check if that happens to other accounts too.
Lost about 300KDCs.  Angry   My fault. Shit happens... Smiley

Damn. You're right mine got changed but I had no coins and was not mining at the time so nothing lost.

It was changed to L5Dx3dBFrshxGP9fC7smP4iyrafQqH9cMS with a payout set to 1

Found the wallet address on the block explorer:

http://explorer.klondikecoin.com/address/L5Dx3dBFrshxGP9fC7smP4iyrafQqH9cMS

Sorry you've lost coins.  Make sure to update your passwords everywhere.  Did you use the same details on cryptofountain.com as any others?  I hope it's not spoiled your gold rush experience to much Sad

Stick with it. I assure you that there's lots more to come from us yet Smiley

Can anyone offer a good explanation of what this coin has over DGB and USDE? Seems like both of those have way more interest.

There are quite a few factors at play with this.  Firstly and most importantly. We didn't pre-mine a single block.  Infact members of the community hold larger shares than the development team meaning there is much more of a spread of the coin and less chance of this coin been dumped and crashing once it hits an exchange.

Klondike Coin is far rarer than either of the two coins mentioned above, this alone should create a higher value per coin.

If you have a read through the opening post on the thread and our roadmap, we have things in development which no other coins have, let alone the two you mentioned.

The reason for the interest around the other coins been higher? Hype.  Klondike Coin was never pre-announced. The first people other than the devs had heard of this coin was on the night it was released.

Ultimately those that have faith in this coin have only good things coming their way and will find reward in their continued support.

Enjoy the gold rush now, don't miss the boat :-)

How do you call it in english, i know how it is in dutch, but basically it is something like if you have one people that want to buy this coin and 5 people that will sell it, then don't go to a exchange, INCREASE the community first, MAKE IT BIG, try to get in the newspapers!!!! Even a local one is already enough, if you can create enough buyers then it will go up, and the few dumpers will be gone in a minute!!! This is all based on PROMOTION, if the coin is promote enough and you have enough people that want to buy it, then release your coin, else wait, wait, wait. The hashrate is no problem, there are a lot of miners, so OPs and promotion time have time enough, and do you know, how longer it takes to hit a exchange how LESS dumpers we will have, as those DUMPERS will start mining another coin. This should hit $1 per coin, not bad for me as owning more then 5K coins, but we really need to wait, maybe another 2 or 3 weeks AT LEAST!

2/3 weeks is too much and if we wait that long the coin might be dead by that time.
Not saying i want to hit the exchange fast and dump it hard, but people who mine this coin want to see results soon or they will start giving up if it takes too long.
1 week would be perfect.

If those miners in the 1890's were going to give up after a week because they didn't find gold, they wouldn't be rich Wink

Likewise in modern times, those bitcoin miners at the start, if they didn't get a return in a week and gave up, well poor them Cheesy

Anyway, this isn't about the money, its about a viable digital currency that is going places.

Keep on mining.

Oh, and if you can link me to anywhere you have gained new miners from for us, also include your wallet address Wink

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There is so many coins which one is best to mine and keep on: January 13, 2014, 11:32:30 PM
I would be biased and say KlondikeCoin but the simple fact is this has had an amazingly smooth launch, has not been premined, and has some completely unique features on the way that really will set it apart from all the other altcoins out there.

Ultimately however its going to be down to what you personally feel comfortable with mining.

What are its unique features?

There'll be announcements coming over the next week on them.

They will be kept under wraps until then incase others try to take the ideas themselves before we've released haha.

as it stands, check out the thread in the altcoin forum and you'll see all the positivity around the coin currently.

14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi everyone! Do you know where to buy these mounting plates? on: January 13, 2014, 08:30:15 PM
That looks custom made.

You could buy a group of standard mounting brackets, something like this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-291-LL and modify them to rack them together.

Take a look at the brackets on the left of your image, there are no holes, so I assume the person has simply drilled where required.
