I would suggest Lottocoin, digibyte and maybe qqc for longer terms. Coinye for short term but most of all, do what you have a good feeling with!

I think Globalcoin has high potential at the moment, the mining is down at the moment which reduced the price 5 fold. But once the mining is fixed it will restore to it's former glory.

I would be biased and say KlondikeCoin but the simple fact is this has had an amazingly smooth launch, has not been premined, and has some completely unique features on the way that really will set it apart from all the other altcoins out there.

Ultimately however its going to be down to what you personally feel comfortable with mining.

I'm new to the forum too, would love a heads up as a newbie. Vertcoin looks promising, is anyone mining it at present?

I'd suggest mining Litecoin or Bitcoin with the Middlecoin pool. They are the largest cryptocurrencies and involves the least risk. However, if you want to risk more and maybe gain more, you can mine other coins.

My favorites so far are Earthcoin and Worldcoin, I try and hold a few others such as Lotto and Tag. It's all speculative and really comes down to whether you can afford to hold or not.  Smiley

When I was lurking around the forum, read that Earthcoin is a scam, the price of it has fallen a lot since it went on cryptsy.

Im going to point all my hash at lottocoin =)

There'll be announcements coming over the next week on them.

They will be kept under wraps until then incase others try to take the ideas themselves before we've released haha.

as it stands, check out the thread in the altcoin forum and you'll see all the positivity around the coin currently.

1. Lottocoin (severely undervalued)

2. Doge (highly popular)

3. Feather (great team)

4. Litecoin (very safe investment and mining)

Vertcoin is the best choice for now and so on, if you don't want to concern about ASIC technology like Litecoin and other scrypt-clone coin will face in 2 -3 months.

1) Worldcoin:
- great development team (check http://worldcoinfoundation.org/en)
- building an exchange --> decoupling from bitcoin: check: https://scharmbeck.com/
- superfast transaction speed (30 seconds): check: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vv_hkKj39AE
- not too much inflation --> 256 milion coins --> same ratio to bitcoin as ratio silver to gold
- constant high network hashrate --> people believe this coin has a future and keep mining it
- was already on cnbc --> pretty positive about it, even mentioned more than litecoin  Grin : check: http://www.msnbc.com/the-cycle/watch/cashing-in-on-bitcoin-111318083837
- ...
2) Dogecoin:
- very good community
- great hype

just my 2 cents,

greetings

I only hold on to members of the top 10 list on http://coinmarketcap.com/mineable.html long-term.  Most of the suggestions here are potential pump and dump schemes, with no expectation to retain value for more than a few months, fueled purely by hype from their newness.  That's of course just my opinion.
