1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex = Scam exchange beware. on: June 08, 2017, 07:13:06 AM
Withdrawals are not working.
Coins are disappearing.
I withdrew my MAID coins and it shows as "Complete: Error" in withdraw history.
The transaction never showed in blockchain. But the coins dissappeared on Polo.

The day before same withdrawal was working fine.
They are going down, now they disabled TrollBox.
It is Cryptsy all over again.
1) Non-working withdrawals
2) disabled chatbox
3) stealing of our coins

Take what you can and run away.

EDIT: btw they dont respond to support tickets (i have open ticket for another issue for 16 days now)
EDIT2: well Polo responded to and fixed my ticket few hours after i posted here. So being vocal surely helps.
My Coins finally went through. Their support is still tragical but at least i know that it exists now.

Someone is investing heavily to DGB, after that there will be pumps. Dont sell your DGB's. Come and mine with us instead at DigiForce.cc

// Maximum 400% adjustment...

Is there something we are over looking here? With a much higher (actual) hash load will this adjustment act differently? What are the dangers of allowing very large diff swings like this?

Also, with a higher difficulty # like the 10-20 range we currently see, will we see any other phenomena that we can't test in the low hash test-net environment? Are we on the right path? What are your thoughts?

I think this might give miners a lot (as in, A LOT) of rejects as soon as the difficulty adjusts, unless your tests say otherwise.
Good point to consider! Thanks for the feedback! We will look at that more in depth.

Told you so.. Tongue

hey digibyte.  been mining at coinium and since the new diff took place the diff has been all over the place.  never consistant.  it will go from 8 to 9 then jump to 12 to 15 then back now to 7.  cna you explain as to why it does this.  and im getting much more rejects with this new diff change.  plz explain.

Difficulty jumps up and down dynamically but this should not be problem, it is to be expected from retarget each block, also right now there still large swings in net hashrate.
You can mine on PPLNS pool (such as digiforce.cc) which will smoothen rewards for you.
About reject rate, can you provide more data? I am both mining and administrating pool and i did not notice increase in rejects.

Well I mined on digiforce on the night, I'm sorry but I lost my dgb, I never get them for the past night and my sold stayed at 0 so I dunno how you can say all is work and no one lost dgb.
I have the new wallet which is worked perfectly so the problem comes from the pool.
Which pool were you using?

I used digiforce pool.
I run DigiForce pool, send me your account name or email and i will look into that.

Please check your miners and make sure they are mining on correct fork ( change the pool if neccessary ), you will help to stabilize updated fork with this.

What P2P pools can someone recommend? Still mining at coinium at the moment

The ones that are on the new share chain! Make sure the p2pool you visit has 7960 as the Block reward! Smiley

P2P Pools Updated to DigiByte v2.0 DigiShield

Better check current block id,
should be same as in your (updated and synced) wallet.
You can check block id in your wallet when you go to Debug window -> console -> write "getblockcount"

its not just the block count though, a different Fork could exist with the same count, correct me if im wrong.
you need to check "getinfo" instead of "getblockcount" to be sure
It could but there is small chance for that.
Ok better check "getinfo" so you can compare multiple values, e.g. difficulty.
Thanks for pointing that out.

DigiForce is running positively on right updated fork with DigiShield.
Just resynced the wallets to make myself sure.
Block reward decreased to 7960, difficulty also decreased but that was to be expected,
there is a little panic and also some of hashpower is on the wrong fork.

Especially considering there are literally hundreds of altcoins now, some of which have fairly similar specs to DGB.  The one thing that sets Digibyte apart in my mind, and is what made me invest in it in the first place, is the dedication and apparent intelligence of the Dev team.  Most of these coins seem to be made by and for retards, with their only goal to succesfully pump and dump a premine.  Obviously this isn't the case with DGB, but we need more projects to help the coin gain visibility.

This is exactly the point that needs to be spread. What we can do as individual community members, is try to grow the community. Every person we bring in, every comment in this thread, every reddit subscriber, every merchant like martins that begins to accept DigiByte - this is how we grow the currency. And we achieve that by making it known that DigiByte at least deserves a look because it has a competent and professional development team, and no shenanigans are in place. The funny part is, the fact that the coin is nearing 2 months old and no one has been scammed and the dev is even more vocal then on Day 1 - I mean this is a damned special case! Most altcoins that don't perform well as trading fodder, those that don't explode in price are abandoned and dead within a couple weeks. This community does talk about price yes, but I think unlike most altcoins people are mostly concerned about the future and whether or not they should continue to mine/hold their DigiByte stash. Not everybody that is concerned with price is planning on dumping ASAP.

So - if we want to succeed we need to grow, there is no other way around it. We especially need more merchants like martins, and we only get them by casting out our nets. There needs to be a marketing push both by the community and devs for a weekend so we can make it known that DigiByte is not like the rest, and here's why. The main sticking point we face, I believe, is this nonsense about the premine. Now, I personally scratch my head when people say DigiByte had an unreasonably large premine - because I see 0.25% being held whereas tons of popular coins that are trending have had 1, 2, 3, even 5% or more premine with IPOs and all this other garbage. I really am confused on how DigiByte has gotten lumped into this bad "premine crowd". I think DigiByte has one of the more sensible and realistic uses of a relatively small premine. I do agree with some detractors that the initial giveaway phase wasn't handled the best it could be, and perhaps half of the premine could've been used better - but wow, what other coin has open discussion about such a thing? NONE! By then the dev has cut and run, because most premines ARE get-rich-quick for the devs. This clearly isn't, at the absolute worst you can criticize the devs for selfishly trying to secure an income off of DigiByte's success - but my god, who doesn't get paid for a job? And even further, in order to get a nice paycheck from his reserved funds, he's gonna have to work his absolute ass off for years.

The held premine is worthless if the coin doesn't succeed. Even if he wanted to dump now it's not that much money. Even if he dumps at 200 satoshi, which he won't - it's still considerably less than he could make in salary doing even freelance development. There is no window for this man to dump into life-changing money until the coin has succeeded enough that his dump would be a momentary hiccup in the market. There is a very important reality check here some vocal critics need to piece together. Why would Mr. Tate cash out after 3 or 4 months and take home at best a year's salary? If I were a dev this competent and now had this sort of crypto experience, if I was looking to get rich I would just launch another coin that was built to make me rich, and the community would eat it up for a week or two just like all the rest. The fact that Mr. Tate hasn't disappeared, is so vocal, has shown his actual face (or so we're lead to believe ;P) - how much more proof do you need that he isn't planning to screw everybody over? There are much better ways to scam BTC, and trust me, this man has the skillset if he was so inclined. DigiByte just isn't a good get-rich candidate for this dev, plain and simple. Even the most stringent of skeptics should be able to settle on this conclusion. If Mr. Tate wanted to scam, he could. Instead, he's hoping to be rewarded for a lot of hard work. I personally am ok with this.

We have to find some way to settle this premine bullshit once and for all when it comes to DigiByte, because it does not belong in the same grouping as other premine coins. Premine isn't inherently bad, and I think aside from some minor criticisms about the initial giveaways, this is one of the shining examples of exactly how to do a premine correctly and to the benefit of the community and currency. How do we overcome this stigma? We need to figure out a way to address these criticisms once and for all, and we need to then push that message outward beyond our usual hideouts. We need to show people why DigiByte deserves some attention. We have a great name, great branding/logo, a transparent dev we know by name, the most evolved anti-multipool code in the altcoin market, and a wildly active and positive community. If we can push this message with competent answers to some of the popular criticisms, I believe DigiByte can see some nice growth very soon. But it depends on us to spread the word.

I personally would be happy to devote some time to joining an official PR push run by some of DGB team, if creativecuriosity would like to do something like this.

Very inspirational an indepth analysis.
I am also willing to join the collective organized effort.

I sold 500,000 DGB during the pump yesterday and am buying back today and will make around 210,000 DGB, not bad for a few mins work  Smiley Sell high, buy low and all that.

You earned that at the cost of the Demand's price confidence. If you hadnt sold that amount.. and probably would have held on to it... There's a chance that the exchange (buyying and selling) would keep on going. Thereby giving you 500K dgb close to your total DGB now (in value).

I would prefer a healthier supply/demand without that sort of speculation Smiley

Then again, its always about luck here and there. Ah well,..

This is true.
It's a tough call because I'm sure we all mine & would like to realize a bit of cash to pay for electricity etc, but selling large amounts is indeed detrimental to a big rise back to the 300 or so we saw last month. There was obviously a concerted effort to do so last night at least twice, but because it was quickly pushed back down below 100 confidence fell right away & now we're back where we started.

I said it before, but I really mean it that there is no difference between multi pools dumping & us holders dumping. The coin will never rise as long as people only view Digibyte as a money making-tool rather than as money (as grynca said just above)

I was looking at mintpal yesterday when pump&dump happened ( by coincidence, i dont look there all the time ;] ). Because it is such a small market it took about 6BTC of buy orders to launch the price up to 190 satoshi. But then there was no sell wall to keep the price up so it fell back down. A little later there was the error with coinmarketcap showing some crazy buggy figures so price went up a little again.
Again in such a small market as mintpal nearly everyone with a few BTC can create large pump and nearly everyone with enough DGB can create large dump.
But this is not what this coin should be about, we should try to use the coin as it is,  not marketing it for another currency.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] Custom MP Code ✈ DigiShield v2.0 Mandatory Update ✔ on: February 28, 2014, 05:13:18 PM
Most of you are having very unhealthy mindset for DGB, speculating about price, waiting for the right moment to dump your DGB.
Think of DGB as about money, the final thing that holds your wealth and when you mine then you are making money.
If you stop calculating to BTC, USD or other currencies and start thinking what you can !directly! buy or sell with DGB then you will be creating real value for DGB and maybe you will also sleep better.

DGB is currency, there are glozzilions of other speculative shitcoins around.
Lets make DGB a currency.
