Those having problems running the beta client, are you using java 8? I ran mine on linux without any problems except for harvesting is not working and maybe its not supposed to work yet.

I have been reading through the forum and gone from extremely confused to a little less confused. I have run the beta client without any problems, created a real account and now have an address starting with the letter N and the according private and public keys. The testnet address in the upper left corner had me a bit flabbergasted for a while but after hours spent reading the forum I think I get it now. The phase 2 stake claim seems to be only for those who have a stake on nxt ae, right? I have a token that was messaged to me here and registered/claimed it through the given link, so Im not supposed to go through that process of sending a message to that nxt account with my newly created real nem address and token code, right? So I just wait for? Sorry for the confusion but there is a lot of confusing info going around.

WTF! I havnt been around for a couple of weeks cos of work, now I see a message in my inbox about some utterly confusing account creation process that seems to have been screwed up and a new process started with some deadline that says that if you miss it you loose your coins?  could you copy paste that message here please? I am really pleasantly surprised about all the good work you smart people are doing on the multiple buy in list. Its more then I thought you could possibly do. Thanx for all your hard work guys, you should get a bounty for all that.

HERE ARE SOME THOUGHTS AFTER 5 HOURS OF AUDITION
1. I don't think that fraudsters should be refunded. Their money should be spent for NEM promotion.
2. I found two more big fraudsters and I need about 3 hours more to match txids with names. We need more people doing audition, or bigger reward for auditors.
3. I checked about about 50 random transactions and found 5 fraudsters and 4 of them are big which means there are roughly 10% of fraudsters.
Totally disagree. You can't outright steal someone's money. Send it back to where it came from. Did someone already find your sockpuppets?  Totally uncalled for. Maybe someone should check the auditors accounts. I have no sockpuppets. Anyway, do you really think it's fine to steal someone's money? yes, refunding is the best way. The rule is very clear. They waste our time to audit. They should be punished. I agree their money should be spent for NEM promotion, and some of their money should be rewarded to the audit people. I agree, sockpuppets have generated a lot of work for the community. Im not saying they should "steal" their money but there should be a penalty. After all they did try to steal our money. |

You should engage them in the introduction thread then you can know if they are real or fake accounts. Many new accounts are friends of earlier NEM participants. Doing so smaller groups can be formed within a bigger group/ community. That's a powerful force to push things forward. I received a lot of PM these days and there is no denying that NEM attracting many new people. Im sure some of them are real but the problem is you can never really know. So I guess you just have to rely on people being honest, the problem with that is honesty is not so common. |
