It ask you all the needed questions for gpu-plotting,(device setup, number of plots, size of plots in GB, stagger size in MB, the plot directory) and them it will launch gpuPlotGenerator with all the needed parameters. Hi all. I have been burst mining for a few weeks now with a few TB of HDD space. I have a Samsung Chromebook that I have crouton installed on to run a full Linux desktop on it. I am curious if there is a Linux Burst miner that can be compiled on the ARM architecture. I would like to mine on the Chromebook so that my laptop will be portable again. Thanks in advance.
I dont know if you can mine on Chromebook, but i compiled dcct tools and uray miner to ARM long time ago in a virtual arm system (v6 i think): https://github.com/kartojal/burst_arm_tools Someone told me that these binaries need optimizations and better compatibility with new ARM chips... In July will start again with banana pi. |

Hi all, today i release a GUI front-end for dcct tools (with mdcct support too) for Linux systems like Ubuntu 14.04. It's a script made with bash and Zenity, compiled with shc tools to make it like a binary file. It have AVX2 and SSE4 support. Easy How-to- Download dcct + gui frontend from here.
- Uncompress it.
- Double click on "dcct-gui" to start it.
Features- Simple front end & very lighweight .
- Only one dependency: Zenity (Already installed in Ubuntu)
- Bash binary script (you don't need to run a console for execute it))
- Choose a DCCT tool from the list, and follow the windows to run it.
- Plot Burst files without console skills. Plot supports SSE4 and AVX2 by Mirkic7.
- Mine Burst without console, just select "Mine Burst", write the pool IP and select the plot directories, them Whoala, dcct miner will run.
- Optimize plots with only selecting the plot file.

After the plotting, does the CPU and the RAM are important ?
No, you can mine with 2GB~1.5GB in Windows 8.1 with the Blago miner, and any dual-core CPU can be used for mining only. WIth a little linux distribution like Lubuntu i think you can mine with less than 1GB of ram with DCCT miner or Uray miner. |

I'd like to mine with a Raspberry Pi. So I'd like to know if it just possible. If you don't know how to reply to my question, maybe you can help me by replying to those ones : is it possible to mine on Linux with plots plotted on Windows and is the Pi's CPU as powerful as needed ?
You need SATA2/3 or USB 3.0 for mining BURST. USB 2.0 its too slow for reading(mine) the plots! Check another ARM board with USB 3.0 or SATA port, the cheapest i think is Banana Pi with one SATA. I recommend for mining in linux use their filesystem (ext3 or ext4) not NTFS (Windows) because gnu/linux programs dont like the NTFS system, it will be more slow and its probable to corrupt the plots or have any strange errors... You can always use a LIVE CD like Ubuntu 14.04, download the plotter, and plot to external devices formatted in EXT4, then connect it to the ARM board |

for plotting if you dont have a good cpu better buy a 750 ti, plot, then sell it! PS: and... Sony PetaSite it's for big backup purposes guys! That only have like 15-30MB/s transfer rate, it's like video tapes, very low speed for Burst mining. |

Based on the above information you should find that SSD are not as competitive for price / TB Thank you ! It seems that the 4x 1 Tb is cheaper than a 4 Tb one. Lowest cost 1TB drive on NewEgg - $44.95 x 4 = $179.8 Lowest cost 4TB drive on NewEgg - $139.99 I'm not sure where you are getting 4x 1TB drives are cheaper than 1x 4TB drive (maybe I am just miss-understanding). I just pulled quick dirty numbers from the drives but you will find that the $/TB sweat spot is around the 4TB mark, except for sales or other variables. Plus, using 4 1TB drives also hurts your future growth since you have already used 4 SATA ports. Anyways, Good-Luck shopping. So, I've certainly missed something. But I've seen one with 8 Tb at $299, so it's $37,5/Tb so it's this one the best. But it's an external one, it's a problem ? If is USB3.0 or eSATA, its ok. |

Please could somebody reply to this. Since I'm coming into this coin pretty late what are the current sizes of your rigs?(TB) If I want to start mining burstcoin what would be good size to do so? Not trying to make a fortune just possibly keep cost down and at least recover my investment over time. Thanks a lot if you could reply to this. Have a good one.
One last thing currently when I try to configure my wallet using the guide provided the url is not working and i keep running into an error. "The webpage is not available" I have the latest version of java and am running the the auto bat file. Please if you know how to fix this that would be great. Otherwise no burst coin for me.

Too bad price aint growing with it =( more storage just means more dumpage =( Too many miners, not enough places to spend Burst? I made a toy horse racing website that takes Burst (and Bitcoin eventually) to hopefully pull Bitcoin people in and expose them to Burst. It's beta but should be fully functional. Got a better version in the pipeline which will be more fun.
