Hey there,

I made my five posts, but somehow I still can't post elsewhere.

I only want to start one thread in the trading section. I'm interested in hearing other people's stories with investing/speculating in bitcoins. In particular I'd like to know:
- when they bought and sold
- what their reasoning for investing was (i.e., why they expected to make a profit)
- what their motivation was (i.e., fun or for money)
- what do they think about investing afterwards

I'm particularly interested in their reasoning, and their level of sophistication. I'm a finance student and a computer nerd, which is probably why I'm so curious.

Suddenly I can see why there is a newbie's section. Luckily on that note, I'm outa here!

I like your idea, but you should talk more about who you are. If someone has valuable technical skills to offer, they'd want to know what you bring to the table, and why they can't start the same company without you. I don't mean this as an attack, it's just how the process of finding business partners work.

Also, I don't think the BTC contributions that you talk of are an issue at all. The real cost is contributed time and effort, which is far more valuable.

Have you considered going to a local entrepreneurship meetup?

Finally, as for spamming, I propose that instead of mandatory fees, we simply make the client refuse to send out more than X transactions per minute.
I don't think that'll work. If someone is spamming, then they'd be using their own custom made client anyway. Spammers can be quite sophisticated - there is money in it after all.

Hi,

I'm Hens. I'm only here because I want to ask the other users for their bitcoing investment/speculation stories. I'm particularly interested in their rationale for investing (i.e., why they think it'll go up). I have to escape this newbie dungeon first though.
