Hi.can someone tell me if KYC is ok ? what could be the effects of doing it especially in bounties/airdrops, they are requiring to pass KYC before joining
By knowing who their customers are, companies can help prevent crimes such as money laundering, bribery and corruption, fraud, identity theft and terrorism. KYC is designed to filter out those individuals with no real interest in the ICO and only care about laundering their money so that it is hard to trace its true origins. Due to technological advancements recently, the KYC process can take less than 1 hour to verify a person’s identity. We are all part of the crypto community, so 1 hour should not deter us from wanting to make the crypto and ICO space a safe place for all. Despite KYC being a very useful process as explained above, it can can cause more harm than good especially to customers who give out their information. It all depends on the intentions of the company. You can read more about it here https://medium.com/@XIF_Official/the-importance-of-kyc-in-the-crypto-world-a40ff02b8d57.

Knowing your customers (KYC) is a controversial topic when it comes to privacy standards in the World of Crypto. However, it serves great importance when unabused. By knowing who their customers are, companies can help prevent crimes such as money laundering, bribery and corruption, fraud, identity theft and terrorism. KYC is designed to filter out those individuals with no real interest in the ICO and only care about laundering their money so that it is hard to trace its true origins. https://medium.com/@XIF_Official/the-importance-of-kyc-in-the-crypto-world-a40ff02b8d57.

I hadn't heard of your crypto yet before this thread.
You may need to get press releases out there and perhaps try to reach a younger audience via Reddit and so on.
I do know for a fact that traditional marketing channels don't really perform for cryptos. Cryptos require word of mouth marketing. A trusted person to convince another one to use cryptos. When you spend $$$ on TV and so on you're not really touching the "trust " side of people's desire to invest in crypto.
Interesting views on the subject. Thank you for your input! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

It's either you might have the wrong market for your product or you have promoted it badly. I myself is staying in a country in South East Asia but for once I have never seen any promotions regarding X infinity market not until now. Also if you want to test out your product which I think is a great idea you should have some recruitment process on some volunteers to see if their life was made easier with the use of your debit card linked to their cryptocurrency. Usually a product like what you have is afraid to be tested first by them if they are not seeing any good reputation behind yours, having a good feedback as well as partnering up with reputable banks is the best way to build their trust.
We have dedicated a fair bit of funds to marketing in South East Asia as you can see here https://medium.com/@XIF_Official/x-infinity-world-music-showcase-2018-f36d70314e0d. With regards to your suggestion on choosing volunteers to see if life was made easier using our product, is a sound idea! Thank you for your input!

how would you guys go about reaching out to real users? The problem is that 90% of altcoins are concentrating on making paid campaigns on their own altcoins that most of the time these same altcoins are worthless, if the owners of the altcoins concentrate on doing signature campaigns paid in bitcoin then they would have bigger exposure of your product, because many people would participate in the signature campaign, participate in twitter campaign, facebook and yotube. Of course, running a paid campaign in bitcoin implies that project owners will have to take money out of their pockets, but the results will be much better. Another very important point is that the project team must interact in the thread and in the social media. I believe that making explanatory videos about how your product works becomes much more inviting We are active on these social platforms. However, I feel the most affective platforms for marketing crypto is BitcoinTalk, though we have been neglecting marketing on this platform as you have mentioned. With regards to promoting an introductory video, we will work on it. Creating a product (cryptocurrency) isn't easy and getting people to use your product is JUST as difficult. So far we've done Airdrops, Affiliate Programs, Social Media sharing, and Press Releases, with the marketing strategy all explained here https://medium.com/@XIF_Official/x-infinity-marketing-strategy-getting-merchants-and-consumers-onboard-34e2218aaa54. Our company has created a cryptocurrency wallet/ debit card linked with MasterCard so you can use it to buy a cup of coffee or go grocery shopping with based in South East Asia. For an AltCoin like this, how would you guys go about reaching out to real users?

Now, crypto is a currency people can choose to use. They don't have to. We need to build it as good as possible so that people who choose it, can. And those of us who want and have time and resources, focus on building good showcases, demonstrating that it works. Is rapid adoption that necessary? We need to be able to learn as we scale upwards. Right now, we're in the middle of the development after having learnt that "on-chain isn't the be-all end-all scaling solution". It was a fight getting here, and in the end the big-blockers went and created their own coin, which I think was good for all parties. Has it gone viral already, in a way?
For cryptocurrencies to go viral and obtain mass adoption, crypto has to be integrated into everyday life such as grocery shopping or buying a coffee at at a cafe. X Infinity is a group that has created a Crypto Wallet/Debit Card linked with MasterCard. So far this is how to try to obtain mass adoption, explained better here https://medium.com/@XIF_Official/x-infinity-marketing-strategy-getting-merchants-and-consumers-onboard-34e2218aaa54.

Bitcoin doesn't destroy you. If you can see the huge potential of Bitcoin in the future, then you can quietly hold your bitcoin, and don't pay attention to the recent price, you can temporarily forget it for a while. Looking at the price every day is not good for you. Investment requires a process.
Yes I agree with you. Depending on the amount invested into Bitcoin, it can be very life consuming. For example: Waking up in the middle of the night or checking very price fluctuations every minute just to make sure your investments don't crash. It gets quite nerve wrecking.

For the first time we go public with our idea! so don't be too critical about it, it's still in active development the project: https://Socialcrypt.netIt works just like Facebook & Linkedin but it is about crypto & blockchain only! The idea is to unite people with the world of blockchain-projects, ICOs & Cryptocurrency. Currently the main pain is that for a regular user it is almost impossible to get a picture of what is going on in the world of cryptos. You have to literally to browse tons of websites, chats & forums to get in... We try to bring it all to ONE ad-free platform! Currently we have: "Projects" - Official pages of Blockchain-related companies & ICOs with their latest updates. Pages have Community Support feature, file sharing and so on.. "Groups" - Just like on facebook you can use it as your influencing platform. Also you can create secret groups totally hidden from the web. (Socialcrypt Core Team guarantees 100% privacy) "Events" - all major & minor events like ICOs, Online activities, product launches or Conferences... Have Calendar and "participating or not" option for followers. "Database" - browse & filter users, projects or groups for an exact match. (privacy settings are respected) "Wallet" - where SCG Tokens are stored. You earn tokens for every valuable action like a new Forum post or announcement... etc.. "Talk" - Forum but not from a darkage ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) modern forum with hastags, solved questions, locations, password protections and so on... "Stream" - the main stream where all generated site activity is shown. This is a very brief explanation and you are free to ask your questions right here or in our Telegram group! Mark Lite CEOHi, as a new project you may wanna give this a quick read https://medium.com/@XIF_Official/3-ways-to-survive-in-a-competitive-market-fa7a9a970f81
