1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: fees are very high on: June 07, 2024, 08:58:34 PM
i have some crypto on poloniex, i was looking to send some crypto i saw fees like:
btc:240$
usdc: 12$
dogecoin: 3.23$
shib: 6.26$

i am looking to send 5$ through crypto, is this normal these days?
What!!! This is insane and it better mean a different thing. Are you sure you checked this value very well and what they are meant for? Maybe you have mistaken them for the minimum amount that can be sent through certain means. However, if this is true, then you should know that it is extortion, and perhaps they do not want you to withdraw your money ever again.

I have never used the exchange and this thing we see simply like this may even play through with some customers who didn't know the fees chargeable but just made the transaction as fast as possible and were charged $240 for BTC transactions when the mempool is not congested.

This is inane and I hope it is not true. Why not trash it with the support to know if it is true or some sort of error, as I do not know how an exchange will compete with the prevailing market by discouraging customers and intending ones this way.

Withdrawal fee and transaction fee are different and every exchange has their own way of calculating withdrawal fee which will be way higher than the TX fee that we could pay using actual wallet instead of exchanges. And this is another reason why someone shouldn't use exchange as their wallet.

Besides there are some better exchange out there with cheap fee structure definitely a lot less than $200. Smiley
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't you think you should invest in Bitcoin instead of burning your money in fire on: June 07, 2024, 08:34:41 PM
Invest your money instead of spending it on cigarette is kind of cliche.

I get it smoking is bad for your health but you can't compare every spending of yours with ifs and buts because there are still a lot people who don't smoke but still poor and there are people who smoke 24/7 and stashed with cash pretty much for their 10x of their entire life time. So savings is just the first step but you need to think bigger if you really want to achieve better.
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: Charge new hp on: June 07, 2024, 07:23:48 PM
How long should we charge the battery of a new mobile phone?

Dude, the new era mobiles use Li-ion and Lithium polymer batteries which don't need extended first-time charge like the old model. If you want you can charge it until it reaches 100% for the first time then just use it as you wish.

But every kind of battery has it's life cycle so if you go from 100% to 0% then charge it all the way up to 100% does more damage and reduces the life of your battery then charge it until 80% and use it until it reaches 20% the plug it back until it reaches 80%.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is bitcoin future roles in Finance? on: June 07, 2024, 07:07:18 PM
Bitcoin is an alternative way to make your payments which doesn't involve any intermediaries aka banks so if Bitcoin becomes mainstream payments there won't be any banks.

Other than this there won't be inflation, it's just deflation which is good for the most people but only sucks for the rich that's why avoid the decentralized system and want to keep the bitcoin and crypto from growing any further by throwing whatever they can in the name of government policies and restrictions.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of fake work-from-home jobs, it is a ploy to steal your crypto on: June 07, 2024, 05:47:03 PM
I have a relative that recently got a job after he was scammed by this similar pattern of scammers due to his eagerness to get a job as a fresh graduate. Paid money requested from him by an acclaimed job agent online who claimed to have job openings contracts with companies, after 24hrs of payment all means of contact was blocked that was when he realized it was a scam. Any job that's genuine, whosoever that's involve will always ask you give him a certain percentage from your first salary for his services after you have gotten the job. Anything outside that, run.

Human resource agencies are overwhelmed with people who seek for jobs but still, they won't make it very obvious even when they seek money to do the favor so anyone who is asking/saying you need to pay to get something is kind of a red flag. Even we should be very careful while applying for jobs in genuine websites cause they are also filled with different types of scammers so finding the ob in the hard way is the best way to eliminate all kinds of scam traps.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoins have you blacklisted? on: June 07, 2024, 05:32:32 PM
I stopped looking at them for a while because it's going crazy and if one kind of project succeeds then there will be 100s of projects created with ditto of the project which is not holding any potential at all. I am not denying profit-making because it's just bump and bump-and-dump game but the long-term vision is kind of too much to ask at the time.

But I would say one coin in specific which is XRP, only because it's centralized and mislead people in so many ways.
7  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think that government can stop Bitcoin? on: June 07, 2024, 03:36:19 PM
Quote from: jrrsparkles
Technically they can't stop the Bitcoin from used as Bitcoin but they can definitely shut any centralized service that provides crypto services which can be an exchange, casino, or even wallet provider became the target of Fed in the recent days if you have been watching the news, for example Phoenix wallet has been forced to shut down their service from US.
Government can only frustrate the effort of the BTC users in the country, but they can't stop BTC not to exist in the world because is a decentralized currency that is not control by any government, and it pump when it is time to pump high and It dump when it is time to dump.

Despite the banned of BTC and crypto in my country, there are still BTC users in my country which the government is not aware and they are still promoting BTC and crypto to educate those people that see BTC as a distraction to our currency which is not truth.

I know US government has been fighting BTC and crypto users in their country, but there are some users who are also politicians in the country and they are coming up to include BTC and crypto in their campaign to make sure BTC and crypto users support them in this up coming election.

Government can't stop BTC but they can shut down mining operations, they can shut down every exchanges, they can even announce anyone involved with crypto can be facing criminal charges that doesn't stop BTC but can cause drop in prices let's say it's now at 71K but if governments all over the world decide to ban BTC overnight then it can bring down price to at least below 10K again which won't stop BTC operations but what about the investors who re holding.

Any way they won't go to such moves cause the found BTC tax revenue model is far better than banning it so they will be imposing high taxes and discourage people from using it.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: With is the minimum post require to earn a merit on: June 07, 2024, 03:19:04 PM
Merits are offered when someone find your post's informative, interesting or something that adds value to the discussion but it doesn't necessarily mean you are making low quality posts either because not every quality post got merited too so if you're desperate to earn merit then you can try merit giveaway threads like others suggested or can concentrate posting more where merits shared often.
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm curious about the network conditions in your area. on: June 07, 2024, 11:02:45 AM
The gaming experience is affected by the poor network, especially the 4G memory game.

Are you playing warfare games like COD, PUBG? Even if you play via 5G still you feel the high ping because when we are talking about wireless internet connectivity it will be highly unstable cause we are talking about milli seconds so if you want to enjoy with low ping as possible then best way is to get a wifi connection even if the network speed is low you will still get better ping compared to high speed 5G moile internet.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tap Swap and other new projects trending on: June 07, 2024, 10:45:42 AM
Looks like the project is inspired by one of the Mr Beast's challenges. Cheesy

I can't comment about the legitimacy cause I am not following it but after reading of so many member's replies it looks like one of the coin was recently hyped all around social media now started to invade the bitcointalk too. If you're making money then it's cold but making money all the way only by tapping I don't see any potential for these kinds of projects in the future.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Announcement: LocalMonero and Agoradesk will be winding down its operations on: June 06, 2024, 09:37:43 PM
As for localmonero, this was expected to happen with this platform because of its support for the most important currency in privacy currencies, based on the attack that occurred on all privacy service platforms such as Mix ers.

The use of crypto has spread so much that it no longer subject for ignoring or avoiding dealing with it. On this basis, everything that supports complete privacy is fought, including privacy coins, Mix er platforms, and decentralized platforms. On the other hand, there is still something that cannot be stopped, which is the use of privacy currencies in peer-to-peer transactions because the decentralized Monero network cannot be disrupted by any authority.

It is expected that other applications will be targeted, for which there will be no solution other than activity in the deep web.

Whether Decentralised exchanges or Mixers are not illegal to operate by means of any laws but they stopped the market circulation when they forced exchanges to delisted the Monero means less volume so exchange solely focused on Monero for P2P no longer get business like they do so this happened due to the restrictions on centralized exchanges indirectly affected the market of Monero.
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FTX will repay everybody 118% back on: June 06, 2024, 08:51:03 PM
If I am not wrong it's been months already they asked people to claim their funds and began their process but nothing actually happened cause no one ever got any penny yet so FTX is trying to keep their name in the trend as well as good and I guess they can able to refund the exchange user's funds cause I read they have enough reserves to cover the exchange refunds but how long they have to wait is the next question which won't be possible in anyway soon.
13  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Racism in Soccer on: June 06, 2024, 08:25:48 PM

But the black people don't condemn the appearances of the whites so why the so much hate? It is that we all can't live together happily and proffer solutions to world problems without facing racial criticism? I want to know the reason why the Blacks are mostly the victims of racial abuse.

The western world has been this kind of attitude not just now but it always has been not only in soccer or in sports but in everything they have been cornered and not given the chance they needed just because they are black or any other race. There is no way to justify this action but people need to evolve and that should be taught by their parents teachers and maybe in ht next 20 years we don't see such things.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Things to avoid when you earn a lot or become rich on: June 06, 2024, 06:06:31 PM
If someone managed to become rich in the hard way then they are aware of this because if you try to look rich then it's something like digging your own grave. For rich Debt is a good thing that gives exceptions from tax payments but if they accumulate debt of partying that's bad, it's only good if they have potential of money making in that.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Countless Telegram Mining Apps - Crypto Adoption or Devaluation? on: June 06, 2024, 05:48:15 PM
This already happened previously with meme trend, but at least this time it dosnt cost any money so no loss from scam. Also crypto is popularized by the volatility of the price so new people expecting get rich is kinda expected

I disagree! A lot of telegram mining coins try to sell higher mining power for some money. And it is not just limited to telegram mining. There are a couple of coins which can be mind from mobile phone and the story is same there. They have different memberships to provide you with higher rewards.

I would advise people to stay away from such kind of coins or tokens. You never know what kind of data they are gathering from your mobile device and what they are doing with that.

This is the first time I am seeing telegram mining apps which kind of a lame term by the way cause anyone who is aware of technology know it's not possible.

And from your statement I kind of feel like it's just something similar to cloud mining scams but in different attire that might lure some people for sure but better not to aim for the free money cause no one will be doing that unless they make something out of it.
16  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is there really a path to success? on: June 06, 2024, 03:39:47 PM
i believe that there is a path to success, but not everyone can get this path because if everyone can get this path, then there will be no poor people in this world. i liken success to a 'butterfly', you can't chase it, it will come to you, because you want to work 24 hours a day, but if you don't have fortune, then you will be stuck there, there is no improvement at all. but i'm not saying that hard work is useless at all, because many successful people start from their hard work, but sometimes we need to be realistic that working hard alone cannot make us successful, because there are many factors to make someone successful.

We need to understand the term working hard, for example if we work hard for our success then it's good it will get us to something better than current situation but if you work hard that gives only success to your boss then you are working to make someone better and gaid paid a little. Another thing that we always copy someone's path that won't work most of the time that is why I said everyone has their unique way that they need to find it on their own.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of fake work-from-home jobs, it is a ploy to steal your crypto on: June 06, 2024, 03:23:20 PM
The scammer will message you and offer you an online job. The scammer will be receiving the money from the job and he will not later pay you anything. Or it can be a fake job but the scammer will later ask you to pay an amount of money to get more and better offer. The victim account that the scammer created for the victim on the platform would be getting credited but it is not money but just a number to deceive the victim. If the person pay the money that the scammer told him to pay, that is just how he or she has been scammed.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/fbi-crypto-scams-work-from-home-remote-working

Tell your people about this. They should avoid online scam like this one.

This is another old technique that still exists around the market, I hope people will be aware of this mostly.

The scammer will mostly contact the victim via telegram to execute these kinds of traps which they find from random crypto groups that is why it is better not to receive messages from unknown contacts that can prevent 99% of such attacks even from reaching us.

Another method is a scammer might pay you first a couple of times, let's say $10 and $20 then he will ask for something called a security deposit that will give these amount which will be tempting for sure because he already paid so in a hurry we might forget this might be a trap that is also people should be aware of, avoid anything that is too good to be true.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it still possible to retire early? on: June 06, 2024, 09:10:04 AM
People from the middle class can't afford to retire which is the reality not just now but most of the time period, they have to work in their entire life period to survive and save something for the next gen but now it is becoming more difficult there is nothing to save, all just go for the monthly/yearly and emergency expenses.

So increasing the source of income is the only possible way which is not easy either but not impossible so they have to go to the extremes of working 16-18/hours a day in their prime time than settling for a comfortable lifestyle in their 30's.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Universal Basic Income on Blockchain? on: June 06, 2024, 08:55:18 AM
Universal Basic Income (UBI) is a kind of social welfare where citizens of a given population receive minimum income to meet basic necessities. I've read somewhere online about making a UBI system on crypto. Not sure if something like this exists, but it would be cool if it does. In layman's terms, you'll earn crypto by doing absolutely nothing. This will help minimize inequality, by allowing poor people to participate in the global economy. Even Elon Musk talked about UBI in the Dubai summit.

Is there a crypto with UBI? If there isn't one yet, do you think governments will implement such a system in the future? If not, why? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

Let's keep the crypto part away from this discussion.

UBI, is some kind of fund given to people who are below a certain income range seems like a good proposal but we know what government will do to give this money, they will just print out of thin air and give it back into circulation which will do nothing but inflate the economy which is not good in whole unless they decided to pay in something that has actual value like gold or even in BTC instead of creating their own crypto will ensure there is no inflation and the money provided solely from generated revenue.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every possible wrong crypto advices on: June 05, 2024, 09:30:21 PM
Another subtle one that we come across many time which is Bitcoin is made to help the poor which isn't exactly true, it's just a form of money so if you're poor you will still be poor even if bitcoin becomes the mainstream payment but it gives an opportunity to escape from the inflation which is different and that's often people confuse with one another.

Buying hardware from the authentic seller is no problem either its available nearby or you have to import from different country.

That's really funny how can bitcoin help the poor, moreover bitcoin can only be of help to those people who have capital to invest in bitcoin, actually bitcoin is not a manna that always fall down from heaven. i think the days of manner has even ended, i have not heard about manna falling in any country for the past few years now. bitcoin is not a charitable something if you really want bitcoin to help you then you need to work so heard to get a capital to start up bitcoin investment that's the only way bitcoin can be of help to us.

I didn't mean Poor poor, the actual poor so-called someone living from pay check to pay check, who are the one has the dream of becoming rich there is nothing wrong with that but they don't know that it takes time, they want things to change overnight that is why we often see people lost their money in crypto/bitcoin even when bitcoin always on the growing side of every cycle which makes it obvious that they invest but only for short term and doing exact opposite of making profits by entering at peak of bull and lose confidence at bear market.
