2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electroneum is released on: December 13, 2017, 01:29:53 PM
the website is getting slammed. there is no fix for the problem, we just need to wait until things calm down. by the time i get anything transfered it wont be worth selling. as for the website i got the send screen loaded briefly but then it was stuck again, and if i do get all the transaction loaded it probably wont go through once sent.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Electroneum is released on: December 13, 2017, 12:21:08 PM
electroneum is finally realesed. has anyone accessed their wallet yet, or completed a transfer? i've completed the verification steps but my wallet is stuck on working.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Tutorial] Best ROI Mining Rig Build Yet 12x 1060 GPU Mining Rig ETH/ZEC on: November 27, 2017, 06:02:18 AM
i have my 1060's set at 58% power limit and they run under 70 watts therefore i use unpowered 30cm 16-1 risers, also use them on 470/570 which run about 100w. this is because they get their power from psu and there are 4-pin connectors on the motherboard. i've had no problems with risers. i think usb risers are only needed on higher power cards and motherboards that don't have the additional power connectors.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why GTX 1060? on: November 22, 2017, 06:04:36 AM
mining at home you're limited to your electric box. 1060 rigs are low power and are easier to manage on different circuits. also they have very good hash/watts, so it works out better than the higher end cards, you just need more of them. i'd prefer 2 1060's to 1 1070, because it hashes more and costs less.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Electroneum a SCAM??? on: November 15, 2017, 05:52:00 AM
any pool with a decent hashrate is getting constantly bombarded. it's frustrating. i'm sure someone out there is making out well by slowing the rest of us down.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Electroneum a SCAM??? on: November 14, 2017, 07:39:25 AM
only the noobs are crying scam, probably because they haven't been around long enough to have seen the real scams. a months delay is nothing and it's for better security. would you rather have logged into your account and seen no etn there, because you email was compromised without you knowing, (it would have happened to some of you), just so you could have missed out on being one of the very few who would have sent their entire balance to the exchange fast enough to get anything over the ico price. the earliest miners got a good price, but the buy support was very low, it would not have supported a huge sell-off above ico price. and then what? you would have wanted to dump it below your investment. nobody missed out on anything. if you invested you should have only invested what you could afford to lose, it's a gamble. nobody can say what the price will be, you could still make out well. so just sit tight and let the dev team do what you hoped they would, deliver a new type of crypto, protect the brand, add value to the project and so on.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electroneum Mining on: November 14, 2017, 07:07:39 AM
there's a separate board for mining discussions. as for pools i have used a few, hashparty.io is good when they are up and electromine.fr, says they have spam protection, both have good hashrates, but the largest hashrate comes from nicehash.

as for wallets, github.com/electroneum under release. it's a bit complicated to use, basically run electroneumd.exe and that will download the blockchain, leave it running, then you need to run electroneum-wallet-cli.exe. to import your paper wallet run with this argument, --generate-from-keys You_Wallet_Name.bin. then it will ask for address, private key, view key, and password and then it will update your wallet to the current block. to send etn to cryptopia use the command, transfer Cryptopia_ETN_Address amount Cryptopia_ETN_PaymentID, you will have to try a few amounts before it goes through, i do about 3 etn below my available balance to account for the fees. other useful commands, balance, show_transfers.

electroneum has been good to me so far. i hope it continues after the initial sell-off.

those saying that the price is dropping must never have followed a coin from launch before. this happens to every coin. those prices were inflated because of the limited supply. wait until all coins are available, there will be an intial sell-off, and then the price will settle. until then you can't determine the price.

i don't know if this has been mentioned before, but if they want to encourage the average person to use etn there needs to be an easy way to exchange. there probably won't be a way to exchange fiat and etn, but atleast btc and/or eth so they can use other means to get fiat and/or make purchases. something like shapeshift would be ideal for the smartphone users. maybe they can get it listed there or have it built into the wallet. having that simplicity in exchanging would really help etn grow in value and users.
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you going to keep your BTC on exchange during the upcoming forks? on: October 19, 2017, 06:05:16 PM
one thing to consider, which happened with bch, was those that left their btc on bittrex were able to exchange their bch right away when the prices were high. i had my btc in my electrum wallet and it seemed like it took forever to get them on the exchange. i think that was due to the high difficulty from the btc blockchain, and i don't think that will be the case with this new blockchain. also i'm skeptical of bittrex's trustworthiness now and will only use it for small amounts, so i will continue to keep btc in my private wallet.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Beware of Bittrex blocking withdrawals for "security" reasons on: October 18, 2017, 06:55:43 PM
about a week ago i logged in and saw the verify page, which spooked me, i searched to see if others were having the same issue but didn't find much, but i decided to withdraw most of my coins. just now i withdrew the rest. in all it was less than half a btc but i still dont like the approach. ive had an account there since 2014 and it says im a legacy user, 1337 btc daily, but you cant trust that. so i guess ill find other ways of exchanging. i hope dex's finally take off.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Electroneum a SCAM??? on: September 27, 2017, 07:14:49 PM
this project may be ambitious but that doesn't mean they will be successful. with the real business, people and marketing behind it, it seem unlikely to be a scam. although it is difficult to tell these days. i think it's a good bet it's legit, the question being how successfull can it be.

it's good to see that they will have an actual product available after launch, and with the marketing maybe they will bring many non-crypto people into the mix, which is good for everyone. i'm considering buying some today, since i've never invested in an ico and have missed out on all these gains i hear from others. i think the people stating 10x are way too optimistic, and 100x are unrealistic, but possibly 2-3x seems reasonable. if this can maintain its .01c (~240 satoshi) directly after launch then gains would be reasonable as more people come into it. i like the fact that only about half a billion are sold out of 6 billion, and we could assume it will get closer to a billion before the sale is over, so maybe 5 billion would be available to the mobile miners. the whitepaper says they will try to maintain a $30/month reward for the mobile miners by using those unsold funds to boost the rewards to that level, which is an interesting approach. that's about 100 mined per day per mobile user, so you can see how the unsold supply may get used up more quicky as more users join. this method of release is like an airdrop with any user with a phone able to do it. i will be telling my family and friends to try it as a way of getting them into crypto, also the promise of free money sells itself.

so the question for investors would be can it maintain the ico price following launch, which in this ico craze has happened enough; will it be less than successful and drop to some fraction of its value initially, which is possible, and maybe later gain; or can it become virally popular and generate a lot of interest therefore a price increase. i like the project and will probably invest some and hope for the success. good luck

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Not Use Electron Cash! on: August 01, 2017, 07:12:37 PM
same thing happened to me, it showed my btc transaction. just change the server to one that is bch. (click network, bottom right, deselect 'select server automatically' then go to server tab and right click on server (with correct height 478562 as of now, i used casharia) and click 'use as server.' then the btc transaction is gone.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Advice on Mining Farm Buildout on: June 10, 2017, 08:22:56 PM
does any one have input on this subject?

i'm wanting to increase the size of my small farm but the power limits at my house are preventing that (100amp, no 240v). there are commercial lots available nearby that offer 480v 3 phase power. i have very little knowledge of how to run 12v gpus on this type of power. i mostly buy pc power supplies and so far only run them at 120v. A quick search for 480v 3 phase power supplies shows some but they output 24v and are expensive. most servers run on 208v? and i've seen the server power supplies converted for gpu's with the breakout boards and custom wiring, but what is needed to connect even that setup to 480v 3 phase? i doubt there is any inexpensive way to do this except maybe by second hand server equipment. so any brief explanation of how people have powered their mining farms would be appreciated. thanks
