I think the question needs to be a bit more specific. It always depends on the country you're in. And the tax laws that surround capital gains surely. We know that some countries like the US and UK derive joy in taxing the existence out of their citizens. But if you are lucky enough to come from a less inconvenient system, good for you. However, it is always necessary that we abide by the laws. Because in the end, any funds unaccounted for will be discovered. And this will only create bad reputation for Bitcoin investors.

Time has actually answered this question for us. One thing is crystal clear. It wasn't a refresh after all. Honestly, this has been far from a good year for Bitcoin. And I think the unpredictability has not favored the market at all. Sometimes, I really wish this volatility issue could be solved once and for all. But then you remember that it is actually what makes the currency attractive too. I am really optimistic about the end of this year!

A lot of bullshit there really. Too much of mainstream media. The bias is beyond thick and even dripping. There are certain questions you need to ask. If you do proper research, you will find out that there is no greater aggressor than the USA. It's all just masked warfare. The US has destabilized more countries and economies since after the World War than any other. And the process is still ongoing. So, before you even throw statements around carelessly, at least verify them for once.

Crazy crazy stuff really. I really don't know much of our lives the government wants to sit on. I might be the only one thinking this way. But isn't it baseless that this is happening? Why should a man pay for what he is not utilizing? This kinda defies very basic logic. Isn't there some way the man can raise some awareness and fight against this? But who's even paying attention these days?

Currency (money) generally is value. Different cultures historically have agreed to connote value by different means. And I think this has always been by mutual admission. It also always depends on what runs or drives the society at that particular point in time. It is undebatable that the world today is driven by technology. And a lot of what we value today is influenced "digitally". So, it only makes sense that money, currency should also take likewise form. And I think that Blockchain presents a very decent solution.

I think this really depends on the big corporations. I mean big companies in every sector. As we all well know, they are the drivers or major influencers of society. Many of us, sorry to say, are merely sheep following the trendy stuff. So, I envisage that if large grocery stores, electronics retailers and the like begin to accept Bitcoin, things will change definitely. So, those are the signs we should be looking out for. Acceptance and then adoption are key. But that lack of government control will be a major setback.

There's no idea better than creating new jobs. Many people and countries make the huge mistake of just making monetary funds available. That is just the perfect recipe for unending poverty. Teach people how to fish rather than giving them fish. How much has all the financial aid sent to Africa helped the economy there? Sometimes, I'm tempted to think that what the West and US really want is to keep those regions poor and exploitable. Even after creating jobs, the people must also be trained and skilled up to make the best of these opportunities. This is the only route out of recurrent economic problems.

Replying this post in 2018 is interesting for me. Especially considering the fact that very little has changed. And this is irrespective of the fact that the US elected a president like Trump. And really, Trump has been shaking things up. Many allies have turned to enemies and vice versa. But a structure that has taken decades to set up will not be ripped apart so easily. The West still cuddle up to the USA believing in their exceptionalism. And Putin having been reelected has remained his old self. Offering every form of resistance possible.

When religion and politics share the same bed, there can only be trouble. These two tools are really powerful. Even individually, if mismanaged they can cause a lot of havoc. Religion normally is created to nurture the soul of a man. Politics however seeks to oversee his outer interactions. If the same entity wields the power over a man's inner and outer interactions, this is really dangerous. This is why I would always be in support of the separation of politics and religion. I believe this is the only way forward.

So many countries now were prohibiting the use of virtual cryptocurrencies. And to think that many unemployed individuals were beginning to uplift their way of living because of their dealings with cryptocurrencies. Banks doesn't expressly say why it is banning the use of Bitcoin. What do you think is the reason behind this?
The lack of centralized control over the processes is the main reason why governments and banks are afraid of crypto currency. Currencies have weight only because the government of the country said so. For most people in the world, these promises do not mean anything. In fact, fiat currencies are not backed by any tangible assets. The governments control the currency (for this they use central banks). But all this control is lost when non-governmental organizations devise their currency. Here is the answer. Banks and governments are afraid of a decentralized system that can not be controlled.

We recently had election and only about a half of voters turned up for the vote.
Don't people realise it is their democratic right to vote, to be able to influence where we are going as society? Don't they realise what a priviledge this is compared to old times and places with no democracy. It is a duty and responsibility in my opinion. If you don't vote, then don't complain!
I agree that the opportunity to choose representatives of the authorities is not just a right, but a duty and a big responsibility. In my country people are very skeptical about elections. They do not believe in honest politicians, honest elections. My fellow citizens believe that all politicians are the same (lying, corrupt). Therefore, they think elections are a waste of time. They believe that their voice does not affect what is happening in the country. People are passive, because they are too often disappointed.

We don't use smartphones from ten years ago (or phones from ten years ago, for that matter), but practice beliefs from 500 years ago. Humans are organic machines; that function perfectly, when we learn how to take care of ourselves and each other - it's #time for a system upgrade people - right?
If each person respects himself and others, loves his family and friends. Live by the principle: treat others just as you want them to treat you. If we think before we talk. If we try to love all life. If we get rid of the debris in our head. We will be happy and calm. Religions teach the same thing. If people do not distort this world, then we do not need a reboot.

In societies, women believe they've been oppressed hence the need to advocate for the feminist movement. But it has been shown that women benefit from the patriarchal society they claim to be fighting against (e.g Ladies expect the man to be the breadwinner) when feminism stands for the equality of both sexes. I would like to know your thoughts on this
Everything depends on society. In my country women can receive education, work, and do business in the same way as men. Equal rights and opportunities for all, without exception - that's what we need to achieve. Because feminism is now in the trend, some ladies abuse this. The fact that you are a woman (or man) does not mean that you should "play this card" all the time.

My daughter is 10 years old and wants a mobile phone (mainly because some of her friends at school have them). I have told her when she starts secondary school she can have a phone as she will be travelling on her own. Some parents don't seem to be able to say no to their children and I have seen children at her school as young as 6 walking around with the latest iPhones, this is society gone made surely when parents cave in and can't say no to their children.
I'm completely at your side. Sometimes it seems to me that people are crazy. Sometimes I think that it was and will be. Some parents are simply irresponsible. Not only they do ALL the whims of their children. And their children will be egocentric. Such upbringing affects families like yours and mine. Because it's really hard to tell a child "no" and explain why you made such a decision. Some parents are too lazy to educate their children, because it is much easy just give the child what they want and do not think about the consequences.
