1  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why I'm an atheist on: August 17, 2018, 12:18:51 PM
Life’s better without him
Religion is about control and limitation. Rules, laws and rituals that restrict and govern behaviour. In some cases – say the genital mutilation of infants in barbaric rites of passage practised by religions such as Judiasm – they actually persuade nice people to do awful things.

Which is to say nothing of the countless other horrors committed in the name of God and religion. Suicide bombings, torture, genocide, forced marriages, unwanted babies, war – the list is endless.

A life without religion and without God thus offers freedom from all of these miseries. It offers a person the opportunity to do what they like, in line with their own moral code, within the parameters of the society in which they live. Each decision to be taken is evaluated on its own merits, weighing up the pros and cons, and is not forced down a path by a pre-existing code of conduct dating from a time of ignorance and superstition.
2  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should the religion interfere with political issues? on: August 16, 2018, 04:27:35 AM
There are a lot of problems we, as individual and as a society, faces everyday. Whether it be physically, mentally, environmentally, pyschologically or morally it seems that these problems are inevitable.

The role of the government is to stabilize and provide the basic needs of a citizen including the order and organization among individuals. While the religion is to ensure that faith and morale of the citizens are still in equilibrium with whatever aspect.

In terms of the political issues that arises between the government and the opposition, should the sector of religion interfere with whatever the citizens and the government must decide?
I think there are reasons why it shouldn’t. There are many religions, and only one state. If all those sect/denomination would interfere with the political issues it would be chaotic. Both religion and politics have one common goal: that is to acquire political power and use it to fulfill their aims. However, to achieve this object, their methods are different. Religion mobilizes religious sensibilities of people in order to get their support to capture power; while politics uses intrigue, diplomacy, and makes attempt to win public opinion either democratically, if the system allows it, or usurps power with the help of army, if the society is under-developed and backward.

Despite the use of various contraceptives, the world population keeps ballooning. Will there come a time that all food will be extinct and we cannot feed ourselves or what is the way forward because we are tilling all the virgin lands etc .
We not only could, we will outstrip our ability to feed everybody if the our population keeps increasing rapidly and if our population keeps on growing exponentially, we will inevitably reach the point where there is physically no way to grow enough food for everyone. On our journey to that point, we will lay waste to most of the remaining wild areas of Earth, burning down the forests and filling in the swamps to create more farmland, and in the process causing a mass extinction. We are already well down that path, but have not yet reached the point of no return
4  Other / Politics & Society / What is the most ideal form of government? on: August 12, 2018, 10:01:01 AM
For me the best form of government is democratic government because of all forms of government that have been utilized by human societies throughout history to organize and protect our kind. Democracy is the only one that operates on consensus to create solutions to the problems society faces.  And by saying, democracy is the best system of government; it does not mean it is perfect, just that it is better than all others. There is no better substitute for it. Democracy has its faults because people have their fault. So whatever fault we find to malign democracy is not because of the system, but those running it. Thus, the efficacy of democracy may be got only from the sincerity of humanity.

There are many other reasons people might not vote — from anger at the government to concern that being a registered voter will make the government more likely to call them up for jury duty.  Some says it doesn't make sense at all because at the end of the day those who have plenty of  money will still win in the election.

Chris Pine (Just my Luck)
Adam Sandler (Fifty first Dates)
Leonardo De Caprio (Inception)

Their ability to make me laugh and cry while still looking hot there is just something about them that had me swooning.
7  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: August 11, 2018, 06:30:32 AM
Science can never prove or disprove the existence of God, but if we use our beliefs as an excuse to draw conclusions that scientifically, we’re not ready for, we run the grave risk of depriving ourselves of what we might have come to truly learn.

Dan Brown's works epecially Da Vinci Code. It is a typical cliffhanger story inter-mixed with a dose of Historical Conspiracy Theory, Christ’s bloodline and Templar Knights.
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to get girls when you're not handsome? on: August 10, 2018, 10:09:22 AM
Loyalty is the key. We do not need your money, we can finance ourselves. We need assurance that you will remain loyal no matter what happened.
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will religion save you? on: August 10, 2018, 06:24:57 AM
I don't think that religion will save us, our faith does. As long as you believe that there is Supreme being ruling everyone to be just and humane we will never go in vain.

Studying by day, working and studying by night. It is not easy (nobody says it was easy) but i made it. I know you can do it also. You dont need someone who will donate on your btc account. 15  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your favorite movie quote? on: August 07, 2018, 04:40:07 PM
Well, finally some good thread where I can share one of my favorite movies quotes! Cheesy

Let's begin with the Matrix. According to me, Matrix was definitely a movie of all the times and here is why...

Agent Smith: I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure.

This is one of the best sci fi movie that I ever watched.  But Cypher's "Ignorance is bliss" is my favorite quote in this movie.
16  Other / Off-topic / Who is more wicked? God or Satan on: August 06, 2018, 11:08:47 PM
First I would like to clarify that I am neither atheist nor devout Christian. I am an agnotheist (I believe that there is supreme being but he is unknown). I met few friends online who claimed that they were atheist and this is what they told me: God is more wicked than Satan, Satan punished those who are sinners while God punished everyone even those people who have been good to him and spent their life worshipping Him.

18  Other / Off-topic / Boycotting NUTRIASIA products amidst Labor workers controversy in the Philippine on: August 05, 2018, 02:35:41 AM
Despite a compliance order still denies nearly 1,000 laborers decent working conditions & rights. Yet they have resources & willpower to violently disperse a peaceful strike. Greedy and opportunistic capitalists like NutriAsia are the reason why majority of this population continously suffer despite the hardwork.
19  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate christians? on: August 02, 2018, 09:15:16 AM
I don't hate Christians, I simple don't care at all. I think the reason that some people are against Christianity is that they have had some (or many) negative experiences with others who are (or who say they are) Christian especially us Filipinos. Philippines had been colonized by Spaniards for 333 years and spread Christianity. Life in the Spanish era is best described by two great novels of Rizal, namely, "Noli Me Tangere" (Touch Me Not) and "El Filibusterismo" (The Reign of Greed). Though, its characters and events are fictional, those two books are among the best candidates that describe Filipino life during Spanish era.
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's the point of democracy when there's only 2 parties? on: July 31, 2018, 12:22:49 PM
Actually there are two types of party system-two-party system and multi-party system. The reason why most country prefer the two-party system is because the candidate running under the banner of one of the two major parties has the higher to have a legitimate chance at winning a general election. That reinforces why the two major political parties in the United States have an incentive to keep it a two-party system. Democracy rely on the system enforce by parties involved. For that reason the leaders of all parties, old and new, urgently need to engage with their own grassroots and with the wider electorate to give politics and political parties back to the people and to prove that our multiparty democracy is the best means of securing political stability into the future.
