1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TPC COIN][CRYO] - Highly profitable trading bots financed by Masternodes on: December 27, 2019, 06:32:51 PM
If coins are frozen in CRYO on Vault platform for 6 months, why does Vault only offer free hosting for 90 days? Investors should have the choice to remove the coins after 90 days or the free hosting should last for 6 months, otherwise it is unfair to be required to pay a hosting fee because you have no choice but to keep the coins locked in mandatory CRYO.

Get my point?

This goes to show I need to pay closer attention to details. Did not even look at the original date until I saw someone else point it out. Thank you for saving me from wasting more time looking into this.

I did report it and the outcome was that my posts showing that the culprit/farmers copied my post from Discord was deleted. Their posts still remain. Is that what you are referring to by "dealt with accordingly?"

I am still very new to bitcointalk even though my account is over a year old. I recently found out what a useful resource this forum can be. I now understand the rules, how the rankings and merit work. Still a little fuzzy on the trust thing, but rule 33 on unofficial rules I found here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

Says no plagiarism and the only detectable outcome of my report was the deletion of my post showing the proof and calling out the culprit!

I completely understand not wanting to give a false sense of security of banning the sale of farmed accounts because it is impossible to enforce, but rule 33 is enforceable.

Perhaps the moderator took too quick a glance at it. I don't know but what to do now?
Your report might have been correct, but it depends on what you included in the report field. If you have simply stated "copied from discord" then that's unlikely to get removed unless the moderator has time to join your discord, and check it. It's much better to provide a source, and as much evidence within the report field as much as possible. Even, if its including where the message exists exactly (what channel etc), and/or screenshots.

The report provided screenshots. I will provide here as well so that you can see for yourself.

4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are Merits to you? on: September 19, 2019, 06:10:47 PM
While I created my account over a year ago, I have recently realized what a useful resource and wealth of knowledge this forum is and can continue to be.

To me, merits are still what I think they were originally intended to be: a means of showing gratitude and reward for your contribution to the crypto community in the form of post on this forum. That contribution could be in any form deemed worthy of showing gratitude. Insight, innovation, profound, and even funny. Sometimes you need a little comedic relief to move things along.

But now that I have come to know a little more about how this forum works and the benefits of using this forum, and also the abuses of the masses and the many ways the intended purpose is perverted, I want to grow in my knowledge and usefulness in crypto and I also want my merit/rank/trust to reflect that growth.

Having said that, given how freely some merit is given (note: I mean freely given, not earned), perhaps the merit requirements for various ranks ought to be raised to offset some of the frivolous abuses.

I do realize that in this merit system where anyone can give merit that has enough to give allows merit to be dispensed at their discretion, but there are now so many topics that making "merit-worthy" posts in many topics, may never actually earn you any merit. Perhaps, the system needs to be updated. Recalibrated. Fine tuned to adjust for inflation. Perhaps requiring more merit to reach higher ranks is in order. Another idea would be for merit to expire.

Just as bumps had become abused and therefore the system overhauled, the merit system could use a revision that would help bring it back to have more meaning for more people.

Perhaps, I have it all wrong.

Btw, anyone who reads this and would like to impart some more wisdom about the forum, please feel free to message me with informative threads or tips on how to wade through the garbage threads more efficiently.

I will now pass the mic to the next person hoping their post is merit-worthy! Good day!

Hope you all have a wonderful day and thank you for reading!

Please do take a look because the last thing this world needs is more possible scamming.

I know that what they are copying is not profound or ground breaking stuff, but that's not the point. The point is why are they plagiarizing someone else just to post?
This has been a common practice of account farmers for a number of years. Basically, they copy posts made earlier in the thread, because I assume they want it to appear on topic, and less likely to be reported. However, whenever you see this sort of stuff just report it, and it will be dealt with accordingly.

I did report it and the outcome was that my posts showing that the culprit/farmers copied my post from Discord was deleted. Their posts still remain. Is that what you are referring to by "dealt with accordingly?"

Positively certainly not will affect, most importantly, there were no adverse effects.

Only a few users participate in airdrop. It turned out that only a small number of users have high ranks.

Anyone can achieve the rankings. It is simply a reward for being active in their discord server. They do not wish to frivolously dump coins on the market, so in order to qualify, you simply need to chat about the project and crypto in general and be active for 4 days total to reach the minimum rank required to receive free coins as your reward. As you increase your rank by further activity and time, the rewards go up!
This tiered system with requirements ensures that not too many coins flood the market at once and that they only go to those interested in the project and not just random joiners or bots looking for free coins!

Their airdrop system is well thought out and one of the better ones I have seen.

While reading this post, I came across the word plagiarism several times. I was recently plagiarized several times by several people in the same thread.

It bothered me. So I quoted the post with a screenshot of where their post was my original thought. I never thought that mods actually checked and banned people for this.

My reason for bringing this up now in this thread is because my theory is that there are several people trying to build up bitcointalk accounts in order to sell them to "would be coin devs" because I have heard of bought accounts so that the person looks more experienced than they are.

Please do take a look because the last thing this world needs is more possible scamming.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀 [ANN][POS/MN][SOVE] Soverain technology group presents! 🚀 on: September 18, 2019, 08:34:15 PM
Someone asked me my opinion on Soverain as they are looking for a good longterm project. My response:

I would say, if the project stabilizes and the price hasn't dropped again in by Monday, you may have missed the best time to get in.
On the flip side, the coin is young and there is definitely the possibility we could be in for a wild ride!
I would say as far as for a long term project, this one has a long list of both pros and cons but if the price does hold or rise through Monday it could be a really nice short term investment.
In short, it is now extremely profitable to buy SOVE? Am I reading you right?

Presale was the extremely profitable time to buy. Now, it could still be very profitable but it is definitely more risky because one early investor dumped his node and rewards for a loss due to a "financial emergency". The market has absorbed it well so far. If the price remains stable or grows over the weekend, then it will prove that now was still a very profitable time to purchase. However, the risk is that other holders may panic and dump as well. If they do not, then I think we will be back above presale price within 7-10 days.

Hope that clarification and explanation helps.

Given the situation in the market, I have some doubts about investing in such young projects as Soverain.  Do such projects have a future? Sad

Almost everything has a future, the question is whether the future is an outcome that is pleasing or acceptable to you!
I personally, have invested in SOVE because I think the future is acceptable to me. Yes there are risks! But to me the rewards outweigh the risks.
I think this project has started well and even though very early, there are encouraging signs to me.
1. Team is active.
2. Community is growing.
3. Price is stable or growing.
4. Team is beginning to deliver on roadmap already

All positive signals to me but DYOR and draw your own conclusions!
If it's not a secret, how much did you invest? Are you already an experienced investor?

Honestly the amount doesn't matter. If I have $2 Million invested in crypto and invested $8000 in SOVE, that does not mean more to me than someone who invests $500 when his total crypto investment is $1000.

See my point?

To that effect, I will tell you that upon initial investment, SOVE made up about 18-19% of my crypto portfolio and now my SOVE holdings make up about 24-25%%. Some of the increase is additional investment, but most of it is ROI and stable price/growth.

Decided to copy my own post from Discord.

Looks like trading on Crex has started to consolidate between 27k-28k sats and volume is high. With lower starting emissions,  presale buyers still have not reached the point of selling many rewards and the volume available for sell is very low! As the price is still above presale price and holding steady or slowly rising, this could be one of the last times to get in before the price jumps again.

Even though there is not even 1 master ide worth of coins available to pur hase on crex24 at the current moment, the availability and functionality of the instant shared node on the Sove Discordbot means that picking a few hundred coins right now could be a very smart

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀 [ANN][POS/MN][SOVE] Soverain technology group presents! 🚀 on: September 16, 2019, 06:56:04 PM
Also, regarding the bot. I made my deposit 24 hours ago on shared node pool (mninvest) and have returned 2.3% in that 24 hours!

(mninvest) is extremely beneficial. These numbers scare me.

More emissions could mean more coins on the market therefore driving the price down. However, some investors chase high roi coins and therefore the higher roi could attract more buyers and drive the price up.

This is crazy! I see several people posting literal quotations from what I posted in Soverain Discord.

Don't know why someone would claim opinions or commentary as their own on this topic.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Neutron (NTRN) Version 3.0.2 Mandatory available now, ATOM coming soon. on: September 13, 2019, 10:19:19 PM

https://github.com/neutroncoin/neutron/releases/tag/v3.0.2

Great things are going on in the world of Neutron! Through thick and thin this team has been there to support the community and provide development to continue improving this project and community! I know more big things are on the horizon and look forward to watching this team continue to deliver a quality blockchain initiative for the entire blockchain community as a whole.

Be sure to check out their discord for more information! You won't regret giving this project a look or even a second look if you checked it out 2, 3, or even 4 years ago!

This project does have potential but seems to be aiming too high at the onset. Turning smaller partnership opportunities kiln hopes that landing partnerships equals guaranteed success.
Let me clarify. MDC Hash is a new shared node/pool/stats/info service. We are 100% fiat funded and do not dump coins to pay the bills. We also charge the lowest fees in the market with no strings attached. Meaning you don't have to lock up a certain amount of Midas or buy our coin to get a discount on fees. We don't have a coin.
We charge 2% of rewards as fees.
That is what is best for project's communities. We also have one of the most transparent dashboards that allows users to see every reward that comes in, both stakes and nodes.

Right now, before we launch our new site, the official partner listing fee is loaning an instant node. It is a loan that is paid back in full. The purpose of the loan is so we can spend our funds providing the excellent service we provide.

My discord username is Rite#6713 if anyone has any questions about our service, partnering with us, or creating an account so that you can grow with us

MDC Hash saves you more to make you more!!!
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Neutron (NTRN) Staking and Masternodes since 2015, longterm crew. on: April 16, 2019, 11:12:11 PM
I do not come from a computer or crypto background. Everything I now know (which is still very limited) is self taught. I started following cryptocurrencies in general about the time that a lot of people did because of the meteoric price rise and mainstream media coverage.
Since that rise and subsequent fall, there have been so many scam artist and profiteers that altcoins and masternode coins have earned a brand. It may seem unfair but we, the crypto community, are guilty of allowing it to happen.

I support Neutron because I have talked to Tommy and know his story and the story of Neutron. He does not hide behind anonymity. He acts with integrity. Neutron will continue to grow because of his passion.

The beauty of crypto is in its freedom, not its privacy. Accounting will always need accountability, it just doesn't have to be to a government or a governing body. We can and should hold ourselves accountable.

I look forward to remaining a part of this growing and thriving community and continuing to hold audiotopix and team accountable!

Have played on the platform myself and really enjoyed it. As this project and poker site gains more traction and exposure, this could really take off! I am excited about the possibilities. I would really love to see them partner with MDC Hash as their official shared node service provider. MDC Hash provides instant rewards through instant nodes for all official partner projects.

I know panda will continue to build additional services and feature and may even have some partnerships in the near future!

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bithereum (BTH) - Bitcoin hard-fork, Ethereum hard-spoon on: January 24, 2019, 05:01:34 AM
Going to be honest, probably in over my head. This all sounds very good but is this real? If so, if BTH has such a problem with how BTC achieves consensus with 4 mining pools controlling  61% hash power therefore minting a majority of the new blocks, why give them the higher ratio of coins? Simply to encourage a higher value for BTH? Just curious.
