I got mine today too. They work very well. Exactly 70 KH/s. Easy to install, seem like good quality too. They do get hot though! Nothing crazy, just be careful touching them after awhile.

I want 4 riser because i'm gonna make the same setup like this http://shrani.najdi.si/?13/jG/2qlupwe3/img0110.jpg for better cooling

CPU will be Intel Celeron Dual-Core G1610 Box

Ya, that's a good CPU to go with. I'm interested in trying out USB risers. You can get them much longer than your standard risers.
4  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [Help!] ASRock H81 Pro BTC Build Questions on: February 17, 2014, 08:14:35 PM
You should be able to do 2 risers.  You can do 2 cards in the PCIe 16x slots then use the two risers. The reason that it's better to use some in the MB is because the risers do pull power.

Edit, actually 3 risers. 1 Card in the PCIe 16x.

Just an FYI, she is the founder of Bitcoin Botswana. The very group the Quantum Leap Foundation Inc. is working with.

Question 1: Would this be overkill in terms of wattage? Perhaps I can save $50 and go with two 1000w? And how should I connect everything up.. 4 cards on one psu and the system + 2 cards on the other?

You'll want to use a PSU calculator to determine how much approximate power you'll be need. http://www.pcpower.com/technology/power_usage/ shows max ranges, most of these are pretty high. Here's a good link to get an idea of the Power Consumption of 280x cards http://www.overclock.net/t/1454426/r9-270-underrated-the-holy-grail-of-mining-rigs-2-important-metrics.

I've heard of people linking power supplies together so they get turned on at the same time, how do I do this and is this necessary? What do they mean by "do not mix" when doing this.

Organik is right on, you can use a paperclip or even an industrial staple to short the 24 pin, you just insert it into the pin with the green cable, and a black ground pin. You can then setup your BIOS to turn the computer on when you power it on. Otherwise you can use a screwdriver (plastic handle) to short the motherboard to start.

I have 6 USB powered risers.. some of the posts I've read from people make me nervous about this whole power concept. But my plan now is to connect the two molex on the motherboard up, as well as connect all six powered risers to each card. I guess I'm concerned about frying the motherboard or the cards. Hopefully someone can give me some advice here on the plan.

I wouldn't worry about this, the risers are 25W max additional load. The powered risers will pull from the PSU (if I'm not mistaken).

Last thing. Your RAM is overkill unless you plan to game too. 2 GB max, the idea is low power for everything but the GPUs. Use Linux and a USB thumb drive (I use 8 dollar ones). Honestly, I wouldn't got with 280x, but that's up to you.

9  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I am having problems trying to get refund from AvalonShenzhen on: February 15, 2014, 06:13:02 PM
I tried asking and my post was deleted as was another one. I started PM some members and it seemed as thou a lot of the buyers were newbies and was afraid to PM to many of them as I thought he may have been doing some of that himself with more fake ID's trying to make the GB look legit.

He almost got me. I was looking at the prices of these on ebay and got the old "if it's too good to be true, it's probably is" feeling. 300% profit that he was losing selling on here than ebay.
10  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I am having problems trying to get refund from AvalonShenzhen on: February 15, 2014, 04:07:07 PM
Yeah, fuck. This is a large scam. Did he not have confirmed previous sales? Let me see if I can contact some friends to track him down and get some legal action against him.

12  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The Quantum Leap Foundation - Example Africa on: February 15, 2014, 02:21:26 PM
Perhaps you can elaborate.

You are running a for-profit entity, and calling yourself a "Foundation"?

I am assuming that this website is yours?

http://www.navigatechange.net/services-2/personal-leadership/yourlifevisioncoach/

If this is your "for profit" website, why are you asking the bitcoin community to donate money for your personal trip to go to Africa?

I am happy to make donations to entities which actually further the advancement of bitcoin. Have you made any advancements for the bitcoin community so far that you can show me? Or is this your first attempt at attempting to do so?

The INC is important. I forgot to add that in the title. As of right now, I'm just a volunteer and have no official role in the foundation. I expect suspicion, negative feedback, and accusations of fraud. It's inevitable. Try actually going to bitconfused.org. Do you see anything that remotely suggests that we're for profit? No, you don't.

Let me answer your question in detail. I tend to get mad and then think about it later.

This is incorrect. We are in no way affiliated with that site. Our website is http://www.bitconfused.org

This is kind of outrageous, but no, we do have a kick starter planned to help fund a team to goto Africa, but that is separate from Example Africa .

I'm not sure if you read my post or not? I answered this question already. I'll direct you this link with an interview with the founder of Bitcoin Botswana to show what QLFInc has already done to advance Bitcoin.

Edit: To answer your last question.

Are you a registered Foundation?

From what Steven has told me, we are registered, but not tax exempt as the fee for filing in the state of Georgia is $400. That is one of our first priorities to cover.
13  Bitcoin / Project Development / The Quantum Leap Foundation - Example Africa on: February 15, 2014, 12:48:54 PM
Example Africa

Good Morning Everyone,

The Quantum Leap Foundation Inc is about to embark on a mission to change the dynamic of the world we live in using cryptocurrency.  We're going to work with the first Bitcoin meet-up group in Botswana, Bitcoin Botswana, in order to have a launching point for spreading Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Litecion, and other cryptocurrencies to developing African nations. Through Bitcoin Botswana, we plan to go directly to the people of Africa and find out from them how we can help make their lives better through cryptocurrency.

Short term goals:

  • Fund the founder of Bitcoin Botswana, Alah MotherPk Itireleng to go to a national conference in the United States
  • Fund a documentary about Bitcoin Botswana
  • Help Bitcoin Botswana reach out to other African nations in order to empower them
  • Send a team from QLFInc to Botswana for 1 week to educate, collaborate, reach out, and anything else we can do to make this project succeed

This foundation is bigger than any one currency. We see the huge potential for digital currency in this generation and see no reason why we can't make a difference in this world.

Volunteers Needed

  • Multi-lingual speakers
  • Donors
  • Programmers
  • Web designers
  • Social Media liaisons

If you want to help, you can contact Steven at www.bitconfused.org, me /u/drof69 on reddit, or /u/jadams2874, the co-Founder of QLFInc.
We're going for complete transparency here. We want anyone who donates to know exactly where there donation is going and how it will be spent.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions.

Regards,

Drof69

I'll have to move some USD to BTC, but it's not a big deal considering the volatility of BTC right now. More than willing to help.
16  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed - Group Buy]Dualminer USB ASIC sha/scrypt miner $85 [USA Only][Batch #2] on: February 13, 2014, 05:28:51 PM
Sending payment now at the asking price + shipping. I'm doing 3 instead of 6, you can open up those other 3 now.
17  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN - Group Buy]Dualminer USB ASIC sha/scrypt miner $85 [USA Only][Batch #2] on: February 11, 2014, 05:27:07 PM
The price is still $85 right, the price of Bitcoins is way down so we just need to adjust amounts due to the fall, correct? My coinbase transaction went through. I'd like to change my order from 6 to 3.

I just saw this posted on Reddit, I'd be interested in future bulk purchases if you're currently out. Are you taking payments for batch 2 now?
