I just purchase more whenever I think it can't go any lower.  There by decreasing my cost per BTC.  This been my game plan for the past 6 months.  Would NEVER use on $$$ that I can not afford to completely lose.  Thinking I am more interested in the price in a year then the price at any given moment.

Kind of think that it's the other way around.  That the more useable BTC becomes the more valuable it will be.
A little scared that over 60% of the coins in circulation have NEVER been used.  That could adversely effect the price of the BTC
if a larger number of these coins are released into the market at one time.

On the same day (24th), we found out large discrepancies between the amount of cash held in financial institutions and the amount deposited from our users. The amounts are still under investigation and may vary but they approximate JPY 2.8 billion.
We are investigating the causes of these problems. Since there are probably a variety of causes including hacking by third parties, we need to investigate a huge amount of transaction reports in order to establish the truth. As of this date, we cannot confirm the exact amount of missing deposit funds and the total amount of bitcoins which disappeared.
Once we discovered that bitcoins had disappeared and the discrepancies between cash funds and deposit balances, we judged that it would be difficult to continue our activities normally and we therefore closed our site at noon on the 25th (Japan time).



OK. So as a financial guy.....Here is my question.  It's one thing to get hacked and lose 100s of thousands of BTC.
How is the CASH on the 24th missing?  Shouldn't this have been audited on a daily basis, a weekly basis perhaps, but certainly on a monthly basis.  To say OOP...we lost 2.8 JPY is the most troubling thing here for me.

Was very lucky on this one.  After registering for Gox in the beginning of December, I was approved just at the time GoxBTC was at it's lowest.  Thought about buying in the $100 range.  TG I did't have an any BTC in my account or I would have gotten beat as well.  But after all what was $1 last year could be $1 next year. Kind of look at this whole thing as a gamble.  In the past few months I have bought BTC, sold BTC, mined BTC, purchased items for BTC and have been scammed of BTC on this journey.  I am kind of liking the whole BTC thing, but I do realize that it's all a gamble and I would never play with any money I can not afford to completely lose.

Was recently ripped off for .2 BTC thru an obvious scammer.
Had to do with EBay and PayPal.  (I know....I know)
I am sure it is possible to track that transaction.
Just do not know how to do it.

Got the same message the day the S$#t hit the fan with them.  Luckily nothing there for the crash.

Trying to find mining contracts that are a win/win situation.
Purchased a few on eBay and always got 50-60% of the btc I would have gotten if I would have purchased from coin base.
Why would anyone sell a mining contract if they could mine the btc themselves.
Thinking that just purchasing the btc is the best way to accumulate.
Any suggestions?

New at this game.  Felling pretty sure I missed the boat on this one.
I have been purchasing small mining contract on Ebay and the yield per contract seems to be @$1.00 per hour at 180Ghz.
Want to know how this fits into the range.
I use BTC Guild as a pool with a PPLNS setting with a Minimum Difficulty of 128Ghz.
Guess my question here is are there better settings/pools I can use.  Also if I join up with a "team" will this increase or decrease the potential yield.
