1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to buy Eth? on: August 20, 2018, 12:38:05 AM
Newbie here... I've been thinking about buying my first crypto. I think I want to buy ETH, but wondering if I missed the boat already?

Primarily I'm choosing ETH because I think there are less foreseeable limitations than BTC, and it seems like ETH is basically accepted everywhere BTC is. Plus its cheaper  Grin

Is now a good time to buy it? Should I wait?
It looks more like this question is new every day, even though it's old. That's because the cryptocurrency market works by fluctuations. We are currently at dip for the whole market and convincingly you can say it's the right time to buy Ethereum or Bitcoin because even if it dips more, you are still good. They can easily recover above the present situation
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I give up now? on: August 20, 2018, 12:27:20 AM
It's better to earn real tokens, not fake ones as most of these ICO's are scams and they promise in any method to scam people. I joined so many Airdrops, bounties, but only 2 to 3 paid me and they were in less price. I wasted my time by promoting them on Social media sites.
I suggest you to discover much, but after all these also they don't pay anything for us.
I think if you could be more strategic in engaging in the campaign, you would be fine. Not everything is about energy. Also avoid running bounty and airdrop in isolation, build a trusted team and work with them in that way some work is shared and more result can be achieved too

You made the first mistake by not paying proper attention to the project you are joining and rather than using your valuable time to select quality projects with products, you were busy using all those times to want to pack up as much as possible different altcoins including shit ones and now you are thinking of giving up.

My advise is for you to see what you have not been doing right and make amendment and in this case, try to do some little research on the project so it can be worth your time. Getting a quick glimpse about the authenticity of a real project should not take you hours.
You totally nailed it mate, and that's the perfect way to describe the experience of most people running Airdrops and bounty campaigns. It beats my imagination until I decided to calculate using the same formula the campaign managers use while distributing either bounty or Airdrops.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why invest in altcoin? on: August 19, 2018, 11:56:58 PM
I think the question should be "why not invest in Altcoin?"

For the fact that stock and real estate exit doesn't also mean that they are the only certified ways to make profit. Crypto is new compared to those two, and could be a very good source of investment seeing what happens in the case of internet ans web, much more is calculated to happen in cryptocurrency. Most of the early investors now will smile when the whole world will finally get hold of cryptocurrency
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to The Community - Any advice on where to start? on: August 19, 2018, 11:16:17 PM
Hi! I'm a complete newbie to the bitcoin community. Do you guys have any recommendations on what I should be doing first? Would truly appreciate any advice you can provide. Smiley
If you are newbie to the forum the best thing to do is read up the forum beginners help and get use to couple of dos and donts in the forum, the advantage of that is that it can help you find the right info when you need them, and also help you focus your time to things that are more important in the forum while ignoring the irrelevant matters

This would be a good place to start with: Things you shouldn't miss as a newbie: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4922651.msg44328089#msg44328089

When big boys enter the picture, the rule has changed. Bitcoin then becoming a fprm of investments, and no longer the original vision of satoshi, iguess its really inevitable, specially during the 2016-2017 when it peaked at around$20,000. It become a speculative asset, and others tske that as a opportunity, trying to make quick bucks, or even putting thier whole life-savings hoping to become rich.

This is a common occurrence as you said since 2016/2017 especially the 2017 period that gave birth to a lot of ponzi investments using Bitcoin as a base currency and this has totally dample people's mind about Bitcoin because most people now thinks that everything about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is associated with ponzi scheme which is wrong. The best we can do to correct the situation is by exposing the good side of Bitcoin to them and discouraging them from joining unvarified crypto investments
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin down, altcoin rise. why? on: August 19, 2018, 09:25:26 PM
I do not understand what happened to some altcoins, I know that when correction, red altcoin dominates the crypto market.

but when the bitcoin correction, there is still altcoin that has increased and rises significantly.

what factors make altcoin rise when bitcoin falls?
share your knowledge with me!
This simply happens because people are responsive to the price movement and as they react to gain from either side that's considered to move upwards, the market then find a balance until their is a common equilibrium. That's why BTC and Alts don't usually move upward together especially during a very steepy move otherwise both could just move gradually together

The crypto market lives according to the laws of the usual market-if the demand for one product increases, then the demand for another decreases, respectively, the same happens with the price.
You are absolutely right, and that's why the market tend to balance up the unease that's created during the demand for either altcoin or Bitcoin

It would be good for newbies to read it but why did you open this topic in altcoin discussion. It seems nothing to do with altcoins.
I thought it might be easier to find it here while they are surfing this session of the forum, but if it can be moved to the required session I won't mind, I guess the mod can do that if they want to

Very important post to let newbies know how to start over this forum and how to keep their rank increasing by achieving merits.
I might give you merit points on this useful topic but due to lack of sendable merits in my account i couldn't do so.
I'm glad you find the post useful @Fatlever, and for your position at the moment I read about it here in the forum yesterday so I can relate with that. Thanks anyways
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What you should not miss As a Newbie in the Forum on: August 19, 2018, 10:56:50 AM
It is very difficult for novices to upgrade now, because the advantages are very rare. Only if your post is good enough then you can get some advantages, so it's very important to post some good posts. I think the most important thing is to be able to learn more in this forum than just to upgrade.
I'm very sure that upgrading ones rank is a resultant effect of your contribution to the forum, and if we are thoughtful of others when we post, then growing in Ranks would be easier for us
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What you should not miss As a Newbie in the Forum on: August 19, 2018, 07:37:47 AM
Nice dude..

In my oppinion, I think Rank is number 2, Quality POST is more important. You will never get merit if you made a low quality Post. No Merit is Means No Rank Up (jr.member to member). I suggest, if you want to get merit you should made useful Post, meaningful Post, informative Post / News, constructive Post, educative like tutorial. Good Luck..
You are absolutely right, quality post means a lot, if everyone is committed to making a useful post on the forum, that would mean a pretty fair work for the mods and it would be easier for users to find good contents rather than populate the entire forum with craps
