1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mining History on: May 10, 2024, 12:38:42 PM
Total hashrate from Ocean Mining pool has been increasing about two times within one month since January 2024. It has been not stable yet but with their pool growth trend, it will be soon stable around 1 Eh/s.

https://ocean.xyz/dashboard

though their dashboard speaks of X00 participants. the very fact that 600peta joined the pool at the exact same time of jan 27th shows the top half of their pool is one participant..
..wasnt their premiss to be more decentralised..

You could be right, but there could also be that somewhere else something happened that made people to leave another pool. Or, a indicator of a batch of new miners being delivered globally.
I find Tides promising, but I do not fully understand these things yet.

My only miner mines at Ocean though. I'm currently #112 in the ranking at 342 TH with a S21 Hydro, estimate is 40 days to first payout Cheesy
2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Have i connetced the wires wrong? Two phase vs. three phases for S21 Hydro miner on: May 09, 2024, 03:48:20 PM
Not knowing the connections and guessing seems like a bad idea to me. In the very first instance, I would have sent a support request to Bitmain and ask what the colour coding for the connections is.

I'd say it's feasible that your problem could be down to wrong wiring, but also you're lucky you haven't fried the miner completely.

Is the S21 Hydro designed to connect direct to your power distribution or is it meant to have some kind of control unit?

Yes, you are right, I did but never got an answer.
However, I connected the third phase to the blue wire, and then it finally worked correctly.

The bought that cable from mineshop.eu, and I later received a cable from the same place as I bought the miner from, millionminer.com and that cable had other colors on the wires. It was also using somewhat ticker wires and made a more robust impression overall.

So, all solved well. S21 Hydro is mining BCH now, its really a bunch of heat in these 5,4 kW  Cheesy
3  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S17 PSU fans on: May 04, 2024, 02:56:50 AM
I got old S17pro, 2 boards hashing, two PSU fan are dead (broken wire on fan).
Original fan is 2 wire, I have server fan 4 wires, can I use it.

Likely the 4 wire fan is just using 2 for power, and the other 2 for fan-speed control. Using two wires will (likely, i'm not sure) just give you full speed all the time.

Or just fix the cable on the original? Is it hard to get access to?

Is this from me doing the wiring wrong? (not enough power)
The cable comes with four loose ends, I connected it to my three phase so that I excluded one phase.
This because there was only four wires, and EU three phase have five wires (Ground, Neutral, L1, L2 and L3).

The S21 Hydro four cable wires was Blue, black, brown and yellow/green. Connecting a blue wire (normally Neutral/ The 0) to a live phase seemed wrong.
But perhaps this was what I should have done?

Ordered a S21 Hydro a few days ago. Will be sent to me in April.

I’m new to mining, and I wonder if someone knows what the material in the S21 Hydro cooling blocks is?

I think that I perhaps need to buy a set of radiators and a pump that is compatible with the cooling block, but I do not find this written in any of the sparse documentation.

I have two leftover radiators and a pump from a computer build, but these are not recommended for use with aluminum blocks, it’s a EKW D5 pump and two EKW P420M.
Either I buy four more of these radiators or I will look for some that is copper free.

Svensk!

Väldigt sällan här dock.
Hade en borttappad inlogg till en gammal BTC plånbok som jag hittade hjälp med att få öppnad här, så är såklart glad att jag hittade hit Smiley

I received the gold bar as expected, it was about two weeks to Sweden. A perfectly genuine bar, with the correct enclosure and branding as described in the ad. 100 gram "Green" gold from the Valcambi refinery.
The waiting was, as always when I shop with bitcoin in these amounts, somewhat nerve-wrecking, but I'm happy that I did find this shop and that they were the real deal Smiley

Great tread.
Happy to discover that I could buy gold for BTC in Europe, and encouraged my googling to find that it was free from import fees to Sweden.  Smiley
Much looking forward to adding a bar to my savings.
