1  Economy / Goods / Nokia E71 on: August 06, 2011, 04:56:56 AM
Hello all:

I have a fully functional Nokia E71 for sale.  It was purchased, unlocked, for the Local GSM carrier Immix (Central PA), but I've since moved onto Verizon and a CDMA phone.  It's hardly been used, and has been reset back to the factory settings. It comes with a back cover, Phone itself (obviously), two batteries, and a charger.

Not sure what to charge, was thinking ~$150 or the BTC equivalent.  PM with any questions/concerns.  Shipping will be to the lower 48 (US) USPS with insurance.

Edit:  I'm a moron.  Sorry, it's late, but a grabbed a quick picture with my phone, so sorry for the shit quality.

*-*-*Make sure you send from an address that you can receive with, so don't send from online wallets please.*-*-*

This is a whole new type of random winning game, a small lottery of sorts.

To win in this game

I'll be taking the transaction-hash from the first submitted player that sends in a chance to play, and be converting the first 12 Hex digits (to keep from using absolutely huge numbers) to Decimal, and whoever has the number closest to zero after subtracting block timestamp of last entry, wins 97% of the pool. The base play is 1BTC, however, anything above (up to 10 BTC) gets the answer divided by the number of BTC the person sent.

I'll do the calculation to determine the winner exactly 24 hours after this post.

If less then 3 or people play, all funds will be returned (minus transaction fees.)

-------------Example--------

For Example, the receiving Tx-hash is
Quote
3f10cfa3bb93765bb94d3a917a8ca258ac1f3a2477168308999770b68821c4be, which after converting the first 12 hex values comes out to 69341435640723.

I used the time stamp of block 134244 for this purpose.
   69341435640723
-      1309539187
---------------
69340128101536 (Say the person played with 7 BTC)
/                      7
---------------
    9905732585933.

At the end, whoever has the lowest number, wins.

-----End Example------------

The minimum entry amount is 1 BTC, max is 10.

Send your entries to:

I really not sure wat you mean by "The base play is 1BTC, however, anything above (up to 10 BTC)"
...anything above 1BTC?

and where did you get the 1309539187 number from?

Should have been more clear....base play = minimum.  I'm not the best with fleshing out stuff like that:)

I got 1309539187 from the last completed block as of the time of this post (Block 134244).  If you look at the block in BlockExplorer, and click on "Raw Block Data," you see that under time.  It's just another random number generated, and verifiable, by the network to make sure I'm not scamming anyone.

I'll do the calculation to determine the winner 12 hours after the last person submits their bid, if no one else submits one within 12 hours.

To make it varied, if less then 5 or so people play, all funds will be returned (minus transaction fees.)

Just a note however…If the time value ends up being bigger than the Tx-hash value, I'll end up using the absolute value of the answer (so it cannot be below zero...for instance, a -1025456465 would end up being 1025456465)

Edit: Fixed the wallet Address, sorry about that.

I'll rejigger this then for that, and post it later on today-since no one entered.  Thanks for the advice!

Is there a reason you're trying to get no one to do this?
Would you rather people accidentally lose money? Or someone cheat only to find out after? I'm trying to help. I want the bitcoin gambling scene to grow. I want more stuff to come. It's good for everyone. I try to help all the new ones and point out potential problems. That makes the scammers go away and the ones who really want to do something good stay around. If the gambling scene filled with scammers then no one would gamble. That is bad for me. It's in my interest to help others and have a thriving Bitcoin gambling community. Take no offense! If you don't want help that's ok, I'll leave you alone.

Sorry for sounding kind of snippy, slight headache when I posted that, and no idea where it came from:(.  No offense taken, and again, sorry.  Since you do see potential problems with this, how would you go about fixing it?   I thought it was pretty air tight, but like you pointed out, it can be exploited:(.

Interesting. Problem though, is that people can't pick what address it comes from. They could be resending from the same address.

Yea, didn't think about that...my bad.  It's been removed from the OP.

9  Economy / Services / Google+ Invites on: July 01, 2011, 11:10:12 AM
Normally, getting into Google+ is impossible because they closed down the beta invites, but there is a way to get people in.

Send .1-1.0 BTC to 1CkWui2DAqgHNS845jFrG2eMGPWRtQ2xcR and a PM with your email address in it to get invited.  1.0+ donations will tell you how to invite people even though it's at "capacity".

No. You paid for your lesson. Why would I rob you of it?

Because you're a clown fish with a gimped fin?  Sorry...best I can do.
11  Economy / Marketplace / I am a moron! on: June 26, 2011, 07:00:14 AM
So I got a little over-zealous with these games and didn't fully understand them until I actually wasted some money!

Ahh well, live and learn.  Good thing is only 3 BTC went wasted...bad thing is that is all I had (only been at it for ~1.5 weeks already).

Let the laughing and ridicule commence!  If anyone if feeling generous, there is a link to donate in my sig...I won't be doing this stuff anymore!

13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Comments on the components for my new mining rig on: June 25, 2011, 06:59:04 AM
If you bought the 3rd 6950 for something other then mining, then you'll be fine with 620 Watts.  In addition, Antec has some awesome PSU's.

15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Has anybody used ExchangeBitcoins.com on: June 20, 2011, 03:12:04 AM
I have not used it:(

Although tradehill is I think the second most used exchange and it is pretty truth worthy.

If you do sign up, can you use my referral?  Thanks!

-----------------------------------------------------

As for your second question...

Get something like this :

And stick the biggest/coolest videocard you can in there, stuff it somewhere, and let the thing mine and mine and mine:)

Well yea, but these are the best "sweet spot" settings I could find.  Take them or leave them, they're the best I could do, and wanted to share-if only a little-to the bitcoin community.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / To anyone with a 69xx device! on: June 15, 2011, 07:40:30 PM
After fiddling around for a while, this is the best I can come up with without crashing my computer or having the videocard say "Screw this" and start to artifact!

These are the settings I have with Phoenix miner, and produce (for me) a consistent 365-375 MH/S with a 6950 (Shaders unlocked running @ 930/1375 @ 1.175 volts)

-v -k poclbm VECTORS BFI_INT WORKSIZE=64 AGGRESSION=5 DEVICE=0

Any questions, I'd be willing to help to the best of my ability....still new here.  Just wanted to help people in the best way I can with what I found worked best for me and my 69xx series card.

If these settings helped you or you would to donate for any reason : 1CR5i7ay6FsatdB47AoL6okJSnBwFJp4Zm
