I'm new to this coin, which is truly intriguing, I happened to find a graph of the price action at https://market.merit.me/ and it seems it's now going sharply down after a sharp rise and peak. Any opinions on this price action? It is so early in this coins journey. The price action can be all over. Right now more miners than buyers so supply and demand is out of wack. Price will stay lower till more demand is found. |

I have joined the Merit network since the idea is in itself quite mind boggling. The mission of achieving a more effective decentralization than most of the other coins out there through a system of invitations is great.
However after having joined the network I'm having a few doubts. First I had to beg for a few invitations which I could use to convalidate the invitations I would make for my friends. Then, once I've finally managed to invite two friends whom I could validate, now I am unable to supply them with invitations that THEY can use if the want to invite anyone. In other words, the growth of the network in my direction is stuck and so it will probably stay, since we won't spend our time begging for more invitations because we are not beggars, and if it has happened to me and my friends that would probably apply to most of newcomers. Of course, beggars will possibly succeed in getting more invitations, in which case the system is likely to select a population of beggars, not the kind of community I'd like to be part of.
This means that once again early adopters got too much advantage over later adopters, which is the same paradigm of Bitcoin and the other coins - in other words the mission of a better decentralization will probably not be achieved by Merit either.
If I'm wrong I'd like to hear why. If there is no smooth way to allow me and others to perform the "Proof of Growth" without having to beg, then such growth simply won't happen.

Did you ask the person who invited you? Or did you ask on discord? Many of us hand out invites to those who need it for free! When it comes to getting them on your own, the best place for a casual miner would be to pool mine in the parachute pool. Invites are not distributed by hash power. If you're a serious miner you shouldn't have any issues getting invites from any pool. I hope that helps explain a few other ways. Invites shouldn't be too easy to get though! |

How many MERITs I can get per day if I use 6 AMD 570 4GB graphic cards to mine this one? Has it been profitable for miners at the moment, current price, current difficulty and block rewards? You can't mine Merit with AMD cards yet sadly. |

The mining process is actually quite simple. Especially for mining newbs like me. The lightwallet client allows mining in a pool with a click. And the lightwallet client is not the run-of-the-mill QT client. 10% is not for "new" miners but is rather to random addresses (could be PoW miners, could be not). And there is no manual setting or human bias in the distribution. He might be talking about the 10% that the IceMining pool keeps... but either way! We're all right  |

What can I do to receive more invites or invite tokens? Don't really have the gear to mine this at the moment.
Hey Sockpuppet! What is your alias? do you know who's link you used to sign up? Reason I ask: 1) You can always ask your "sponsor" for invites. It's all helpful for both you 2) You can ask the community. Many will help out for real users (lots of scams and fake ppl out there sadly) 3) You can always join the discord and buy some on #trading channel. Watchout- not many for sale these days so price is all over. Thoughts on 1/2 ? |

Today ive sold a ps vita game (redeemable code) in exchange for merit, might be the first thing sold with it I'm new to this forum, if I can how will people know they want to join your community over the other links everywhere? It doesn't matter whose link you join with. Everybody's link works and makes no difference whichever one you use. It's just that some may not have free invite tokens to accept your invite request anymore. The people who have posted most recently, may have though. Best to check on explorer whether someone has available invites at all to invite you in: https://merit.disifi.com/walletI think whos link you join can be important. There are many people who give out invites, merit, and help to people who they invite. We have a very helpful community overall but some people are more helpful than others. I agree and not because I have my own link, but some people very obviously just spam the link everywhere with no intent to help/grow. While others are active on the social channels and trying to help and be there for new users. Please pick your invite link carefully! |

I have been looking into new currencies to mine. I didn't see any that brings something new to the table. They all looked like a copy-paste of one other. So because of that I think Merit needs a little backing, deserves some credit. Hope you reach your goals I agree. What got me excited is it's not your typical ERC20 copy/paste project. Has some unique elements to it for sure |

Remind the person who invited you to Merit to confirm your invite request.
Once confirmed, your wallet will be unlocked and you'll be able to send, receive, and mine Merit.
So WHO is this person? Do you know what alias or link you used to sign up? Feel free to PM me here, on discord, or telegram and I'll help you get it figured out. KAMO287 on all platforms. I managed to mine quite a few invites with my small Nvidia farm, I want to make sure I am inviting people that I can verify will be legit users. Does anyone know if the mined invites expire after a certain amount of time?
Nice work! As of today , invites don't expire! So you're good to hold em! The algorithm stops giving them when your balance is over 50 I believe ✌️ |

I like the project goals put forward and exploit the great growth. I like the powerful MeritMoney protocol that also solves one of the most common human problems. Accidentally sent the wrong amount of merit to someone ? Or accidentally entered the wrong address ? These are everyday events for most of us and, and are handled elegantly with the Certificate of Merit. Merit's deposit links may be canceled until the transaction is accepted by the recipient.
Agreed! And the web wallet + lightweight wallet validate if the alias exists or not , so if you type it wrong it'll show red! Helps prevent any bad transaction really! On top of MeritMoney and MeritInvite links😍 |
