1  Other / Off-topic / Re: New Smartphone needed - OnePlus 5? on: June 29, 2017, 04:27:13 PM
As someone who works with phones regularly I'd like to throw HTC into the ring, I'm not a huge fan of glass in general but the HTC10 and 11 are excellent easily rooted phones with a strong community for roms.
(information about the phones, some of which i've written)

Did I miss anything exciting? I see we're still on the same ancient forum software.
3  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitronictech Tech Service on: February 25, 2015, 04:44:15 PM
Am I the only person unfortunate enough here to be using this?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [Pokereum] - An Ethereum-Telehash based provably fair decentralized Poker on: February 24, 2015, 04:42:44 PM
So just to clarify, I looked at Pokereum's whitepaper a bit and provided a few comments; I'm not any kind of official advisor. But will be interesting to see this progress.

I wonder how many other people in that list were included without their notification
5  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitronictech Tech Service on: February 24, 2015, 04:37:01 PM
Is anyone actually using Bitronic Technologies as a webhost or vps provider? I've been having some issues with the service there and wanted to see if it was just me or the general service level.

EDIT: This is the service in question by the way https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=744179.0
6  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Automated Transactions (AT) is changing things (despite those trying to stop it) on: February 24, 2015, 04:28:25 PM
That sounds like where bitcoin should have started, 25 steps is rather impressive(I've written simple calculators with more steps) Can this run on any block chain or just burst?
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Giving away BTC for Christmas on: December 10, 2013, 06:13:32 PM
Get some nice flash drives that you can get personalized paper... well you might as well just give them a 20 without a card Tongue

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Any issue with multiple wallets on the same drive? on: December 10, 2013, 04:17:06 PM
as long as the client is only allowed to access one at a time you should be all set, if you're really worried run a few vm's with a simple linux distro to isolate each one OS wise(and keep them inaccessible until you bring it online, probably eaiser to manage that as well)
9  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: show hashes (hmac) of IP addresses on: December 10, 2013, 04:15:48 PM
seems counter to the people asking for more privacy(tor friendliness)
10  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Where to buy USB erupters on: November 25, 2013, 03:02:18 PM
I was about to say amazon but they seem to have spiked to almost 50usd there(wish i had bought some just to resell) the recent jump in price means hardware is going to spike as well, then crash when the bubble bursts(best time to buy)
11  Economy / Digital goods / WTS itunes songs on: November 25, 2013, 02:59:56 PM

12  Other / Meta / Re: Where's the new forum Theymos? on: November 18, 2013, 04:01:25 PM
This is only an issue at all because my good management of the forum's finances resulted in a gigantic stash of money.
I'm pretty sure good management would have resulted in a small surplus not a 3 million dollar one, the money could very well have been spent both promoting bitcoin and doing all the things that people have been asking for as far as the forum is concerned as well as paying full time support staff(including an admin) long before we reached this point.
Also can I nominate myself to be on the committee?
13  Other / Meta / Re: Matthew N. Wright has scammed again but locked the topics so we cant post :( on: November 13, 2013, 04:40:45 PM
Matthew hasn't been on the forum since august, it's November now how in the hell can he scam if he's banned from the forum? and how can he comment on these things at all himself.

He got himself banned and i suspect as cover for this scam. That puplic list of payment addresses well not so puplic anymore.

Anyway if showing how he scammed again gets him unbanned ill just shut the fuck up.

This forum needs matthew n wright like it needs 100 more smoothies.

If your hate for him is so great then i suggest following your suggestion then, like him or not he does have the right to defend himself as a human being and would have to be unbanned, otherwise it would all just be circle jerk matthew bashing with no actual result.

15  Other / Meta / Re: Change how "activity" is calculated on: October 28, 2013, 01:39:02 PM
Would it be possible to not count towards activity replies with less than 5 words ?

+1 that is a great idea. thanks.

next we're going to not count anything in the off topic section! and then the Alternate cryptocurrencies because neither is bitcoin related!
16  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: My O.S. freezes when GPU mining on: October 24, 2013, 01:49:23 PM
okay, you got reason, it was by temperature... but not problem of gpu temperature, i'm having same temperature than sometimes when crashed and now it's fine... what i did, i removed the cover of my computer case, so now haven't crashed anytime yet. I guess it should be problem of... mboard chipset??? maybe. Back fan was taking a nice hot air, power supply fan too.

well, tks by replies!!!  Cheesy

What was your temperature, I rarely crash due to temperature even if it hit high of 80 C.

5xxx cards used to run stable at 95(grudgengly and in fits but they could stay there for days) so he must have approached 100c

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoind ram consumption on: October 18, 2013, 02:53:47 PM
not much If I recall it's ~150mb(or used to be ages ago) and can run on a raspberry pi, What kind of system are you setting it up on?
How time flies, I wouldn't set it up with less than 2gb of memory the way things are currently.
20  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 8 Kw/Hr in one room? Possible? on: October 16, 2013, 01:26:50 PM
*yawn*
X Kw in any room is possible with proper wiring, upgrading your breakers at the panel won't let you run 8kw from those miners all on one line however. lets work it backwards from your existing setup
you have 8kw worth of mining equipment, you need  ~67AMPS available to you, without having one of these to check it's inrush current i'm going to say you actually need 80 insted. if your house is wired with 12gauge wire(as opposed to 14, how cheap was your electrician) you could use 4 20 amp breakers. Assuming your electrican used 15 amp outlets you'll need to replace them as well, then it's just 3/line(so 2 lines per outlet)

or as mentioned instead of rewiring a room and running 80/200 amps residential get them hosted
The cost of the electrician alone, atleast based on local numbers here, would be greater than 2 months of hosting for them.

The cost decision is up to him, myself? I'd do the wiring(as opposed to an electrician), but I know the difference between 12 and 14 gauge wire but considering what copper wire costs on it's own some days(yay shitty economy and commodities market) plus the cost of electricity and cooling(yes you'd probably want a window AC unit to cool that room so add another line just for that) hosting does certainly look attractive
