1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Different Hash Algorithms on: May 05, 2014, 04:51:58 PM
Popped over to CoinWarz today for the first time in about a month or so and I saw that they have added a number of new Hashing function calculators for some algorithms that I have never heard of (X11, Keccak, Groestl, etc) Does anyone know of somewhere that has, or perhaps can briefly explain themselves, the differentiating characteristics of some POW functions? My searches have turned up some information, but its usually coin-specific, and some of these actually employ up 5 different POWs at the same time. Just wondering if there is a known reference guide that I was unaware of.

Thanks in advance

If anyone with a blade is willing to try this out, I have been working to include blade support on Scripta, a RPi controller for Scrypt hashing. Here is link to my latest attempt to incorporate the blade:
https://mega.co.nz/#!YZMRUZgA!aCRXr1W860jcic5bl12fbSRpHZwSX0WEgmu4PcuZlDE
The image is unzipped at 15gb, but that is just the size card I was using, it should easily fit on 8gb

This is still in alpha/beta development, but without a blade of my own it is tough to test.
Here is the repo for the development branch of Scripta: https://github.com/DocGonzzo/scripta
And here is the original Scripta announcement: https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=9908.0

Please be aware that although the BTC cores should not be running, it would probably be wise to keep an eye on the device temp when running this distro

That didnt upload right. This should work: https://mega.co.nz/#!ZVkACTAD!aCRXr1W860jcic5bl12fbSRpHZwSX0WEgmu4PcuZlDE

4  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Problem with GridSeed - 0 shares accepted or rejected on: April 11, 2014, 03:29:30 AM
Having the same issue. I have Five gridseeds and just got one in today. It will work in BTC mode, but not on LTC. I've tried them on a few opperating systems, and bfg, cg and cpuminer. Nothing. Calling Zoomhash tomorrow about an RMA
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LightningAsic Gridseed Controller Firmware V3 on: April 03, 2014, 04:29:05 PM
Has anyone had any luck yet getting this flashed to a fresh wr703n, I know Hashra's raspberry Pi is based on the image used on the controller, but I would really like to play around with one of these, without paying $100 for one
6  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HASHRA CONTROLA on Raspberry Pi for Gridseed on: March 27, 2014, 07:27:48 AM
Still having issues, not all my miners are being picked up in the WebUI and then it goes ahead and shuts down (the UI does but it still seems to be mining). Had a similar issue when working with Scripta, but it seems the latest Hashra firmware has new login information...
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Antminer S1- Question about installing screen on: March 25, 2014, 05:05:05 PM
Hey guys,
So I've managed to install screen on my S1 using the package manager within the OpenWrt WebUI, but I was wondering if anyone had an idea of where I should insert the command to open up CGminer within screen. Would it work to add something like this to the beginning of the /etc/rc.d/S99cgminer file?
Code:
/usr/sbin/screen -dmS cgminer

I know that it works on the OpenWrt cgminer I compiled for my Hex16a2 which uses an MR-3020, but the way the Antminer is setup is a bit convoluted.

If you just want to do LTC a note book is easy as cake. I ran mine on Multiminer until I figured out dual mode on the RPi. I am actually helping to build a Distro that can dual mine gridseed with a webUI on a PI you can check it out here https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=9908.msg144472#msg144472

I think, for the time being at least, that it really is worth it to run dual mine on these. It is only profitable for 3-4 months (I pay $.10/kWh) but it will reduce your break-even date by about half. Otherwise LTC mode on a PC especially is incredibly simple, and I know that Nwoolls and Luke-jr are working on support in the next release of bfg.

In the meantime you can compile yourself from here https://github.com/nwoolls/bfgminer/tree/feature/gridseed-dualminer-support
and there are some particularly good instructions on how to do so here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=517451.0

Feel free to shoot me a PM if you need any pointers

This isn't exactly what you are looking for, but I did this halfway into my warranty and have been very happy with the results.

Everyone where I can find all information of dualminers for raspberry pi.
Thanks
Really not trying to sound like a dick, but did you try their website?

11  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S1 - mass configuration changes? on: March 21, 2014, 05:42:54 PM
I don't like the idea of that much GHS going through a proxy if it doesnt need to, I use MultiMiner to remote control my S1s, it allows you to switch pools though, not a lot else. You can always install nano in Openwrt and use that to edit your config files. I even set mine up with SFTP so I could just open them up in ForkLift or CyberDuck

Ummmm I know I don't post on here often, but 808 is a solid dude. He helped us get a patch for the Hex16c miner's to run off MinePeon. Probably doesnt mean much with as little activity as I have, but I'd vouch for him
13  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Gridseed and BFGminer. Easy setup compare to CGminer on: March 21, 2014, 02:12:24 PM
Hi everyone,

I am actually really interested on Gridseed. Has anyone tested Gridseed out on BFGminer? If so, how easy is it to use on BFGminer? If you could give a simple run down that would be great.

I can't add anymore BTC miners it would be too much load for my home. So would love to run a couple Gridseeds.

I have, I am running one on an RPi with BFG that I compiled from Nwoolls gridseed fork. It is a bit more difficult than most mining setups, but if are comfortable with running your miners by command line you shouldn't have any major issues. Once you've got it all setup with the correct flags and written a config file for both BTC and LTC, then mining is pretty easy, but there was a fair amount of trial and error that went into it
14  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone been able to contact Minersource.net? on: March 21, 2014, 01:46:27 PM
I've never really had trouble getting in touch with them, they weren't as prompt about their delivery as they said they would be, but they got me an S1 and PSU (albeit about 5 days late)
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner Remoting & MobileMiner: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: March 19, 2014, 05:27:36 AM
I'm going to look for an API tutorial. Is 192.168.0.0/24 always the address to use Huh My miners are 192.168.1.101/114

Nope - if your miners and network are 192.168.1.101 then you want to use 192.168.1.0/24 in the API allow command. That include the W: as well. That will allow any PCs on your local network to control the miner via RPC API.
Thanks, that's what I did but it doesn't seem to be working.
Code:

config cgminer 'default'
        option chip_frequency '282'
        option miner_count '24'
        option api_allow 'W:127.0.0.1,W:192.168.1.0/24'
        option more_options '--quiet'
I had the same issue, you also have to edit the S99cgminer file.
http://pastebin.com/YEiyPjuH This is a handy post on installing nano and which file (and line) you need to edit
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=499837.0 This one shows exactly what to enter.

Hope it helps, I dunno if you are on Ant or Avalon the process should be the same

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner Remoting & MobileMiner: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: March 18, 2014, 11:56:55 PM
I've got it such that MultiMiner has API access (control) over all of my standalone units, but the Antminer S1 in particular likes to keep switching back to its default pool (BTC Guild) but with the terrible luck we've been having, I like to have the option to switch if I am so inclined. I have a couple Technobit's routed through an MR-3020 which is a similar, although not the exact same, type of setup. What is the best way to get multiminer's commands to stick so when I tell the S1 to mine elsewhere it will. I'd rather not use MM as a proxy to control the miner, but if thats what I have to do then I will...

MultiMiner 2.8 is now officially available with the following features and improvements:

  • Official support for 1-chip and 5-chip GridSeed ASICs (requires BFGMiner 4.0)

Does this mean it won't work for Mac? I tried pulling your latest BFG with homebrew, but it tells me I'm already at 3.10[/list]
20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to upgrade TPLINK TL-MR3020 firmware to technobit openwrt on: March 12, 2014, 04:37:15 PM
Hey, so let me know if I am beating a dead horse here, but I stumbled across this and I was wondering if it would be possible to patch this cgminer status script into the technobit distro of OpenWrt. If it is a hassle or just impossible then no worries, but it looks like it is either a precursor or a downright copy of what the S1 uses. Lemme know what you think
