1  Bitcoin / Project Development / Bitcoin Twitter Bot on: January 06, 2015, 12:54:11 PM
Hi,

I have created a Twitter conversion bot. I just converts Bitcoin to fiat currencies, not the opposite so far. In order to do so, you must mention @bitconversions and send a number amount together with a hash tag of the international currency code in capital letters.

To know how much is a half Bitcoin in US dollars is just tweeting:

@bitconversions 0.5 #USD

You could also ask it naturally in any language:

@bitconversions how much is 0.5 bitcoins in #USD?

The bot should reply with the answer in just a few seconds. The bot uses bitcoinaverage.com API to retrieve the price. You can check which is your code in there. Rates are updated every ten seconds and are worldwide.

I believe it's a nice way to promote bitcoin and to get a fast conversion on the way. I'd like any feedback: https://twitter.com/bitconversions
2  Bitcoin / Mining / USB Block erupters with lots of hardware errors on: February 19, 2014, 12:30:27 AM
I have a Raspberry Pi running bfgminer with an Orico USB hub and 10 USB block erupters attached to it. The problem is that actually only 3 of them work well. The others show lots of hardware errors.

I have tried testing the erupters individually and switching them to see if there was a problem on them or on the hub ports themselves. But they appear to be ok. I'm clueless about what can probably be causing this behavior.

Can anyone give me a hint?

Thanks in advance.
