I'm still running the 2.0.1 version released on Set 1st. I downloaded it the next day and it appears to be clean and stable.

You can keep running this version, nothing has changed in the new release.
We only recommend people upgrading version if you downloaded the 2.1.0 release after 2018-10-28

Security Warning
If you downloaded the MintCoin wallet between 2018-10-28 and 2018-11-01 then you may have been infected by a virus. Please uninstall it and run a virus scanner immediately.

this needs a bit of clarification - git was hacked much earlier than 2018-10-28,
afaics on 28 there was just next trojan version "update".
i haven't exact data about MINT but NYC git which received simultaneous "update"
was already infected on Oct 11, when i dl'd it, and again, prolly that started much earlier

You are right, At this moment we are looking further into it. We have found changed files in the 2.0.2 release on Github, these files got changed on 20-8-2018. just a few days before we released 2.1.0.

We have released MintCoin 2.1.1, which has no major changes but you can upgrade to it to make sure that you are not running an infected version:

We want to thank the users of Bitcoin talk that noticed the hack.

This is gaining a whole new level of strangeness  Huh

First the Github repository was hacked.

Now we are told to upgrade our wallets by a user who's making his first post ever on this forum? A total newbie is taking care of MINT? Since when?

I'll stay with my current version, if you don't mind  Cheesy

You are right, i had to make a new account because i lost my original account about a year ago. If you scroll back you can see my original account Deepcreek pop up allot in the history of MintCoin. Im also a Reddit, Twitter and Telegram moderator.

The current MintCoin team is not really active on Bitcointalk. Main reason is because we do not own the account this thread is started from so we cant keep it up to date. We are looking at ways to solve this.

You can join our official Telegram , Reddit or Twitter to verify that im not just a scammer.
