China's "development" is still globalization driven. With almost 1.4B producing great numbers isn't exactly rocket science. So far China's tech sector is a bunch of copycats that only exist due to protectionism. I'm skeptical about China all of a sudden producing true innovation in AI.

It's not okay to mock fat women but somehow it's socially acceptable to make fun of bald men?

Bald men are discriminated against for jobs and are often joked about but it's not like they can control their genetics.  Fat people can actually lose the weight.

I have noticed a lot of men in their teens and 20s are balding these days and no one is standing up for them.

The bad guys in movies and media are almost always bald.

And how often are fat women the top character in a movie etc? I don't think it's too different.
There may be more people singing praises of unattractive women but at the end of the day, they're like everybody else.

People are suckers for good looks.

Glad to hear this thing still exists. It doesn't look like much has changed but you gotta give it to them for perseverance. I'd give up long ago.

Quite contrary to what most seem to believe I'd say wasm will only strengthen javascript. At the end of the day most of the web will still use js, most libraries around "web'y" stuff will be js and wasm will help js overcome some of the performance limitations (and  js VMs are already performant as far as dynamic languages go). Many of the wasm libraries will probably be designed with js-interop in mind. So while technically it may be easier than ever to use whatever you want to write your web thing I don't think many will for real projects.
