1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ||| Why is Ripple getting higher and higher? ||| on: December 11, 2014, 02:49:45 PM
Can't understand why Ripple is raising and raising when all other coins are going to fall.

I'm truely wondering about the phenomenon.

Where can I buy some Ripple coins and what is so special about it that is has got such a hugh market cap at the moment?

Do you want to buy with USD, BTC, or what?

Either way, you will want to start a new account at ripple.com

I use SnapSwap with USD.  You can do an instant deposit within seconds through 13 major banks.

The total number of supported banks is now thirteen. The initial list of supported banks included Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Capital One, Capital One 360, TD Bank, US Bank, PNC, Chase, Citibank.

http://blog.snapswap.vc/2014/11/four-more-banks-are-available-for.html

For Btc, create a wallet in ripple and below is a little tutorial on creating a new bitcoin address inside your ripple wallet to transfer btc to it.

Ok, thank you for the info.
Just one further question I'd like to ask.

You listed so many supporting banks - is this coin held or controlled by those banks in any way?

Great question.  100% NO!  Just a rail to get your money out of those corrupt bank accounts into a gateway(snapswap) to place into the ripple network as a USD.SnapSwap IOU.  This is until you convert to XRP, that it is officially an asset on the protocol with no counter party risk.  XRP cannot be frozen.

Thanks for the info.
I guess I'll try it out primarily by investing a small amount later when it falls again. The today's price is too high for me.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptos that Actually Hold Value on: December 11, 2014, 02:32:27 PM
Neoscoin hold a great value/Roi atm, there 4k sat for 3 million coins.

But big updates comming later today Cheesy , were they fixed a lot and upgraded many things.

You should at least read ther forum (all 3)

I'm sorry to have to say this, but Neoscoin didn't hold it's value very well...

If you bought $100 worth of Neoscoin at the beginning of September, you would have about $9.50 today.

Thats happened to me. Well not in that hard way but I invested 1 btc and lost 0.5 btc.
I truely believed in this coin after I saw the first increase. Later I was hoping the actual fall was just a small one. I was wrong and went out after scratching my mark of 0.5 btc.
Anyway if we see bitoin is gaining again, we probably see also gaining alts again.

Ripple (reluctantly)
Doge (reluctantly)
Maidsafe (reluctantly)
Counterparty (reluctantly)
Nushares (reluctantly)
Fuelcoin (reluctantly)
Start
TIT

1/3 of my coin is in Doge and about 1 bitcoin worth in each of the other coins.

I bought about 22000 Ethers ....

....

really confused right now ..... Back in late August I had got back into trading when I caught wind of Bitshares. I made 300% on it. Made like $11,000 USD profit ..... that $11,000 profit is now down to about $3,500 ..... should have just stayed out ...

...not sure what is going on .... feel like I am completely being "played" ...

... just gonna sit it out and see if BTC finds a bottom ... maybe things will take a turn for the better with all the talk of bank bail-ins coming

I guess this is also the reason why so many members suddently disappeared. Lots of us are afraid about the future of Bitcoin and are losing interest.
I still have a small portion of NXT on an exchange just for trading purposes. But in these days i'm feeling bad when I check coinmarketcap.com.
As you already said: We have to sit it out.

Maybe we see all raising during the christmas-time. Now is the right time for some kind of wonder.  Grin

I'm holding NXT and NEM. Thats it!

Whatever is said, Doge is third most popular coin among 99% of world, with exception of users of this forum and few more. I wrote it a bit strange i know.

Anyway, they are third. What i hope is that they will not show world how crappy alt coins are. But i think exactly that will happen.

No link to proof the correctness of what you said.
Until you can proof it, your comment is useless and says nothing special to me.

I proof that DOGE is on the 6th place in coinmarketcap.

@ all: Please explain why you're thinking your coin is a good investment for Christmas.

I miss everywhere some good qualified comments... Cry

Altcoins aren't crappy at all and one day they may overrun Bitcoin because of newer or more secure features.
But you'll never see DOGE surviving the next couple of years. Remark my words!  Wink
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest $10,000 into Quark or Dogecoin? on: September 14, 2014, 11:47:08 AM
Let's see .....

Whatever I invest in, it's Money CASH, $$$ POWER!!!
   So, I better invest wisely.
Let's see....

Dogecoin was created as a joke......I could invest in it, because there are creative marketers and I know the value will rise, so I can make money on it.
But do I believe in it as a coin? Not really. No reason to, that I have seen so far.

What about Quark coin ? Looks like LOTS of development on the horizon.

I have to figure, do I want short term rise in investment for the sake of making money fast?
Or should I invest into something that actually has a future? Although it may take a little longer for the financial rise to happen, because there aren't 100 fake hypsters being paid in dogecoin to spread such nonsense.

Decisions, decisions....

May I help you with your decisions.

Number 1: Don't think in a short term. When you want to invest in a coin you should choose a longterm investment. No pump and dump coin for example will survive longer than necessary to enrich some few persons.

I don't know enough about Quark to give you a good advise. But I know enough about Doge.

There will be no case I would recommend you to invest in DOGE. At least not as a longterm-investment!

In case you decide to invest longterm you should choose something which will be supported by thy community "like DOGE".

NEM has already that "kind of DOGE-community" which indicates a possible longterm-investment.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Crowdsale has begun[Updates & Discussion] on: September 14, 2014, 11:37:20 AM
Now I'm afraid of every message I received the last days.   Sad

How can we prevent such pishing-attempts?

What can we do in case someone has already stolen our password?

Is it sufficient to change our password?
Any recommendation?

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Poll] What anonymous coin will succed? on: September 14, 2014, 11:28:48 AM
Can't vote for but it's XMR! Smiley

What is XMR? Never heard about it.

Can you explain why you think this coin can succeed?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are some good coins to invest right now for Christmas vacation money? on: September 14, 2014, 11:24:09 AM
I actually can't understand why everyone is just looking for a quick investment.
Generally a longterm investment can afford a much higher profit distribution. Just keep that in mind when you are looking for an investment.

My best recommendation is NEM.

Certainly the value of NEM will also gain in early days after distribution.
But as longterm-investment you may earn 20-50 times of that what you've invested in early days.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wow Doge is exploding right now on: September 14, 2014, 11:14:05 AM
for the love of god don't give me the Doge community bullshit  Roll Eyes

uggggh god spare me  Roll Eyes

well you may not like it but it is the reason there are so many devs and frankly the only reason doge is where it is today.

having lots of techno idiots supporting a coin is actually what any coin truly hopes to gather, you shouldn't be so hateful

who's hateful ? don't accuse me of being mad because you can't accept the truth.

if you take away the community (spamming Bitcointalk with abuse) what do you have left ? a fucking clone coin period .

..community LOL  Roll Eyes

In this point I share the view with Spoetnik. DOGE has a great and hyping community. Instead of that Doge is just a gen. 1 clone.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to grow 1BTC into 250BTC by Christmas :) on: September 14, 2014, 11:08:43 AM
I'm always one for a challenge, and proving that I'm not too good at trading myself, I want to come to you, the community, to see if we can turn 1BTC into 250BTC by Christmas 2014.

I know that sounds like a hell of a challenge, however I personally seem to have been in the right place, just selling at the wrong time
(Blackcoin, Cannabiscoin, Guldencoin, Boolberry for just a few examples.)

I'm willing to put up 1 BTC for this, which I prefer to trade on Bittrex / Cryptsy / Mintpal.

So, what I'm looking for are well reasoned suggestions where to invest my 1 BTC.

If I do well from this, then I'm happy to share some of the wealth with whoever I believe has offered the best advice.
If it all goes wrong, then I'll look at it as another learning experience.

Clearly this is a high risk gamble, but hey, who knows how well this could go!

So come on, let's hear your suggestions, and see where we can grow this experiment to!

Take your Bitcoin and buy as much as you can parts of NEM-stakes via NXT-AE.
Have you already realized what NEM can do?
Normally I would say hold it for longterm.
But when you can't wait so long, I guess the value of NEM will be at X-mas the 5x-10x of that what you've now invested.
This is my recommendation to you.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET - ICO conducted by BTER + ... on: September 14, 2014, 11:00:19 AM
I regarded TOKEN under NXT-AE.
The whole volume of TOKEN is so big that I'm doubting about it. It seems to me not so realistic that others Assets.

Is there a certain reason why Tokens volume is about that high?

This would be awesome!

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the price of Doge every rise again? on: May 24, 2014, 10:55:40 PM
no because its worthless.

Exactly that, what I was thinking all the time about dogecoin. Nevertheless Doge succeeded for a while.
