2  Bitcoin / Pools / Which Pool ??? on: March 08, 2014, 07:44:49 AM
Huh Hi All I'm totally new to world of BTC, yes I know I'm late to the party but there's no time like the present. I've received my first machine the Antminer S1 and now have it up and running, What is the best pool to get my workers on? I'm based in the UK if that makes any difference to the choice. Thanks for your help and you'll probably get a lot more questions from me.
3  Bitcoin / Mining support / antminer cant connect to pool? on: March 07, 2014, 07:28:07 PM
Hi I received my first Mining machine and have been through the setup. Once it was connected it began mining fine to the default pool set up from the manufacturer, However once I deleted these and entered my own BTCguild details the miner hasn't done anything the green lights have gone off on the PCB and miner status details are totally blank. Can someone please help me get it going. Thanks.

edit: How can I tell if my machine can 'see' the internet?

Sounds like either a syntax error in the url or the machine can't "see" the internet. Have you tried using the tools from the web interface to ping your pool?

Sounds like a plan, how do I test if the machine can see the net?

7  Other / Beginners & Help / New to bitcoin is buying from MTGOX too big a risk? on: February 15, 2014, 06:15:17 PM
Hi all I know I'm very late to the party but if I don't get in now I may never do it. I'm about to spend about £650 / $1000 on bit coin and see that the prices at MTGOX are a lot lower due to their current issues. Do you think it's worth purchasing my first coins from them or pay the higher price from say Bitstamp or another trader. Any tips are welcome as this is all currently new to me but I'm keen to learn more about it.
