Yippee! https://heatwallet.com/#/new opens for me too!

.. and that's as far as it goes.

Howdy new user

Click on the home button in the toolbar to go to your new account, you have yet to receive your first payment so payments are empty.

Your account gets activated (and messages become visible) once your account is registered on the blockchain, this will happen in the next block which is to be expected in the next 30 seconds.

Registering account on blockchain, please wait

Just hangs there for tens of blocks :-(

Is the secure connection to https://heatwallet.com/ working for you?
It's working for most people yes. There were DNS changes whose propagation take up to 48 hours, nothing to do with sysadmins or server config, it's just the way internet works. Most of the world received the changes properly 12+ hours ago, you're probably colliding with either your ISP's or your endpoint's DNS cache. Flushing local DNS cache from OS and browser (or trying another browser) may provide remedy

The http IP address mentioned isn't configured properly to use the mainnet and not maintained as a service by Heat Ledger Ltd.

http://heatledger.com company web site isn't hosting a wallet service, is mostly for view only and is not secured by SSL currently like most standard web sites.

So I presume https://heatwallet.com/ maintained by your company? What ip is the secure connection supposed to resolve to?

Seems like I'm not the only one with problems. https://mxtoolbox.com/domain/heatwallet.com/

Hm, for me it's up all the time.
As far as I remember, there were issues with the DNS host.
Try with the IP directly: http://78.46.99.11 (just for test, no TLS)

Yes, there seems to be a login screen at that ip address using an unsecure connection. Doesn't help much in boosting HEAT confidence.

Is this possible via https://heatwallet.com/ ? If it is I just can't find it.

Who has the passphrase for the ~1.5m HEAT C-Cex account?
18252099885545499037
Only C-CEX does.

Might want to renew Wink
Thanks Smiley

Well, C-CEX claims that they don't have control over the HEAT tokens as stated here:

Sweeeeet, is this 1,5M Heat burned?

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: It is time to question Poloniex market manipulation on: May 17, 2016, 09:15:16 AM
Yeah... too much conspiracy. Cheesy

More like simple math.

It's blatantly obvious Eth is and has been wash traded by a single entity on Poloniex for literally months now.  Their fee structure is setup where someone pushing that volume would have 0.10% taker fees and 0.0% maker fees, so 0.05% if wash traded.

On a slow Eth day of 20,000 BTC volume, that would be 100 BTC per day in wash trade fees.  Does anyone honestly believe the Poloniex Eth manipulators pay that much?  Hell no.

20,000*0,05%=10?

micryon thanks for sticking along...hoping you will stay for longer time.

I'm still around Smiley

James started this coin with a good motive but I feel as he didnt fix number of GPU coins required per GPU so the coin had no backing to maintain its value.

I think you hit the nail on the head here... the problem is , it's a huge risk, esp with the PoW generating more coins.  I think that could work for a PoS-only coin.  Good news is while trying to help the AC project i've started working on the PoS code base...

I would still suggest that the GPUCoin price of any item in the store should be set by selling that amount of GPUCoins _before_ completing the GPUcoins for hardware transaction.
This way the store keeper will always have funds to restock the store and the prices for items sold are real.

Yep, less than 1.5 btc worth of purchase orders over 1 sat. And just yesterday I thought 25 sat was a deal..

i think 100-200 sat is reasonable within a few weeks. it all depends on whether the buissnedmodel is sustainable, it it is i wouldnt be suprised to see 500+

So if you need some, now is your chance 24 sat:

Good post!

The way to figure out the price for the next GPUCard to be sold out of the store is to FIRST sell the associated GPUCoins back to the market. There you have the correct price and won't have to dump the coins afterwards. This way you will always have the money for restocking the store too ;-)
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Rig Contest @ gpucoinforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2736 on: March 17, 2014, 09:37:56 AM

Well if they are smart bagholders they will try to keep the price low now, let's say under 20 sat, do microtrades and buy as much as they can while mining it then when the store openes up push the exchange price to a very high value, let's say 200 sat, so they can purchase more items for their coins. Repeat that each time, at least the first few times, then the store could counter it with microtransactions from the coins they got for the items. Just my logical view on what will happen.

Would you like to explain why someone would pay substantially more for the coin compared to what it costs to mine it? I understand things might change once all the coins have been mined but that's little further out. A few posts back we heard that it's profitable to mine at 20 sat so there you have the market value of GPUCoin?

At the current price of 20sat one would have to dump 325m coins back to market to buy 100 new display cards at 400usd each.

The interesting part of this equation is where the 100K USD per month comes from. It does not directly come from people mining the coins since they just want to change to coins to GPUs and have already given their payment to the electricity company. It has to come from people buying into cryptocoins to create the monthly 100K that then exits to the display card manufacturer.

In other words, it's like people would be allowed to print their money at a small cost for a certain time. As long as it's possible to print money people won't pay much more than the cost of printing. It all changes when you can't print the money (GPUCoin) anymore.  The GPU factory/wholesaler won't take this printed money (GPUcoins) so the storekeeper has to exchange it somewhere for real money. The only way to do this is to sell the printed money back to the people who printed it while they keep on printing more - and they for one won't be paying a premium on the self printed money returning to them.

Interesting times we live :-)
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin on: March 13, 2014, 05:29:47 PM
There will be a shortage in 457 days, the mining schedule as it appears in the ANN is only 457 days since the block rewards do not halve. So in roughly a year and a half miners will only get transaction fees, which is a fairly short schedule.

Right. Lets say the day was tomorrow and all 13 Billion coins were mined. Lets also say that the price per card is 1M GPUCoins. These 13B coins would mean that evenly distributed this would lead into 13,000 "vouchers" good for a card each. Once the voucher is used it's resold (at a profit) back for someone else to use. As long as there is someone to buy the 1M CPUCoin "voucher", at the commission the shopkeeper sees fit, we have a market. So in 1,5 years we will basically have shop where you are buying hardware with money.

I really hope this project turns into something great but at the moment most can do is keep their fingers crossed.

Ps. Like I wrote earlier, what stops anyone of you from starting to accept GPUCoins in exchange for hardware right now? This way you can set a price and get things going tomorrow. If I had a spare card, I'd auction it off to see what the value of CPUCoin is ;-)
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin on: March 13, 2014, 04:26:01 PM
Well, here is my problem, and I have been mining this since the start (each one).
I usually mine a coin 24/7 and sell just enough of it to cover my electric bill,
holding the rest (for gpus!). Now I can't do this anymore since the price on the
small exchanges is so low  and no buyers.  So I mine GPU coin a little and spend
the rest of the day at clevermining, wafflepool, hashcows, or middlecoin.  You
guys need to promote and get the value up, and at least a medium volume
exchange is needed so people can buy GPU coin by selling their other mined coins.

That's how it goes. As long as electricity can be turned into GPUCoins, it is roughly the max price of the coin.

If there, for some reason, was shortage of the GPUCoins and at the same EXACT time a big supply of graphics cards available, then the price might momentarily exceed the cost of creating more coins.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin on: March 12, 2014, 09:12:45 AM
I still think the price of electricity is pretty much the only thing that will determine the price of this coin for now. This is because you can make more coins for that cost in the near future.
As there is huge variation on the price of electricity, even 1c difference in kWh will make a 5-15% difference in the purchase price of the graphics card.

Still, there is one even bigger issue we haven't seen much talk about. It's the fact that anyone could start selling whatever hardware or goods for GPUCoin right now!
And in a sense it already happens. Just check out how many GPUCoins you need to convert to BTC to buy a 400usd graphics card at TigerDirect: 400usd = 0.63BTC = 2.1m at 30 sat.

So buy up all the GPUCoins and then you can control the price. At the current price 13 billion coins will set you back 6200 graphics cards, 2.5M usd or the sole use of a large nuclear power plant output for an hour ;-)
