1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 253 blocks solved! on: October 29, 2019, 11:18:26 AM
Hi CK,

Thanks for your reply...

So this is the right format:

Server: solo.ckpool.org:3335
Username: btcaddress.worker
Password: x

BTW, I'm running a full node myself. Bitcoin Core, but on a windows rig. I'm building a system to run on Linux instead and when this is ready I would like to use this to be able to solomine myself. But, what do I need to do, to make this happen?
Yes, I know. Your answer would be in direct conflict with your interest in your full node service here.. But I'm asking anyway Wink

Thanks you for cgminer and this service too Wink

Kind Regards,
Dan

Hi,

Pointing an asicminer towards this "pool" we are told to use  solo.ckpool.org:3335  ...

Coming from Denmark, I'm noticing "Pick the server nearest you - Germany: mine to de.ckpool.org:3333" which makes me think that I should do this. But, am I getting this all wrong or do I just config my miner like this:   de.ckpool.org:3335  ??

Kind Regards,
Dan

http://solo.ckpool.org

Configuration:
Just point your miner to: stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 or port 443
Asicminer tube/prisma owners need to point to a special proxy at solo.ckpool.org:3335
If you use an incompatible rental service that refuses to work on port 3333 try port 4334

Set your username to your btcaddress with any or even no worker extension, and any password.
eg: cgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ.0 -p x
If you enter an invalid address you will be rejected

Server locations:
US Mid: mine to solo.ckpool.org:3333
Germany: mine to de.ckpool.org:3333

Hi Royse777, Bitmover & Bob123,

Thanks for your answer guys Wink

I'm not quite sure what to do...

Royse777:
Hi Royse,
Nested Segwit, is this what Ledger calls "Segwit"? So that the choise I have, "Native Segwit & "Segwit" actually is " Native Segwit" & "Nested Segwit" ?

"...Try using legacy address which starts with 1.."
A legacy address? I don't recall a option "Legacy" on the Ledger Nano X?!? Will you explain this to me Wink

Bitmover:
Hey there,
"...Do not try native segwit (bch...) Because it may not work with those exchanges.."
This was exactly what I did. As it was the default option. I don't care if I have to pay a $ or two to transfer, I just want it to work. And those dollars, aren't they supporting our community somehow? Wink So , having set the Ledger Nano X up, what would you do? Transfer the funds to another wallet and set it up again, this time as "Segwit" ??

Bob123:
Hello Bob,
"...Every service/exchanges supports nested segwit.."
Here's the message I've got from Nicehash trying to withdraw funds to my LEdger Nano X set up as Native Segwit.:

4  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Ledger Nano X - Withdrawal to from e.g. Nicehash Wallet - Enter valid BTC addres on: September 04, 2019, 02:39:57 PM
Hi friends,

I've bought myself a Ledger Nano X (and a Nano S). I've setup the Nano X to hold Bitcoins and Ethereum. Transferring funds from my full node bitcoin core address went without issues, but trying to withdraw funds from Nicehash where I've got a few rigs running, it couldn't be done. I got the error message "Enter valid BTC address".
I'm thinking it may have to do with the type of account I chose setting it up. I had to choose between "Segwit" and Native Segwit". Not knowing what this was, not able to find info letting me know what to choose I chose the default setup "Native Segwit".
I read something about, it had to do with the time a transferral would take. And I must say I was a bit impressed with the 2-3 min. it took to transfer onto my Nano X. But is this where I'm doing something wrong? Or is it Nicehash that should be having this option of transferral as well?

Please help me here, I really don't know what to do. Well, yes, I can make an extra transferral of the BTC, but that not the way it should be right? Wink

Kind Regards,
Dan

Move your topic to mining board.
Better to Mining (Altcoins) since GPU rigs can't mine Bitcoins.

@DRAHdk Both GPU were outdated for mining Ethash (for Ethereum and forks) nor "mainstream" Altcoins, though 1050Ti can mine a lot of "Shitcoins".
I suggest you to go to whattomine.com to find the most profitable (or rather: less wasteful  Tongue) coin to mine using those GPUs.
Then go to the Mining (Altcoins) board and find the suitable miner for your OS and selected coin to mine.

Hi nc50lc,

GTX1050ti 4Gb I bought just last week. Checking the numbers on profit, production/mining versus cost/consumption it's clear that even this newest card (best low profile card for the time being) is useless. But, as I explained, I produce a lot of power myself. I have 4 systems with 4 cards each ready to run on free power. Which therefore means that the numbers are in the green..I've used a lot of time finding hardware and putting rigs together using everyday hardware bettered with some industrial components. These 4 cards use less than 300watts including the CPU running the rig.
I have 6x 1000W resistors almost glowing in the dark, burning electricity as heat to get rid of my overproduction. This is why I'm a little inpatient. Wink 4 systems with 4 cards each. GTX1050ti 4Gb has mined 0.31USD per card per day. (0.31USD x 4) x 4 = 4.96USD per day in the piggy bank instead of blowing it of as heat. So, not much invested in hardware. And, I do this because I think its interesting and funny to do. And, because I like the idea of us giving the banks something to think about. Wink

So I'm mining much less than everybody else, I know. But the coins I mine is 100% profit. I mine at nicehash as I write, which mean that I'm paid in BTC.

What I was looking for was a few guidelines from one of you guru's - on how to install these 2-3 mentioned miners so that I could mine using my 4 Linux systems with each 4 cards.

If I was to build a miner, mining with a GPU and had to pay for the electricity, then I think the best standard profile card consumption v. production is Nvidia Titan V. Very interesting! Look at the the high rate of production compared to the low rate of consumption. It's a little expensive, not everyday hardware so it's not be the one for me, but what a card. Compare it to e.g. the antminer S9. My second choice would be Nvidia RTX 2080 ti. Or just buy 100 of the newest antminers, move to the Danish island of Iceland, where power is almost free because of the geothermal conditions and mine there Wink

So, please... Anyone who has got the time and want to help a person who is in the same situation you all where once. If you know how to install and setup CCminer, EWBF, Gminer(maybe Phoenix instead of Gminer) and T-Rex on Linux Debian/Ubuntu server CLI. On a clean installation of Ubuntu Minimal Server 18.04.x. With a example on how to run the miner a pool and solo. Do I need a config file or is it ok just to run the miner with the startup command and the right flags and setting? Automated using Crontab.

Right now I would like to have those 4-5 miners installed, or is it enough with 1 or 2? I want to mine:

T-Rex miner on stratum+tcp://x16r.eu.nicehash.com:3366
Phoenix Miner on daggerhashimoto.eu.nicehash.com:3353
Gminer on: stratum://zhash.eu.nicehash.com:3369

For what I picked up, it seems like these algorithm do best on my system:
Zhash, x16r, daggerhashimoto, skunk...

I don't quite understand the which miner is mining what algorithm and how to find the right ones. But I'll settle for getting this installed and then I'll go from there. Please help me guys.

Move your topic to mining board.
Yes, of course.. I'll certainly do that next time.

Better to Mining (Altcoins) since GPU rigs can't mine Bitcoins
OK, didn't know that. I know there's been written a lot about it not being profitable, but not possible - I didn't know that. Thanks.
I did order 2 Antminer9S just to test these as well. They are outdated as well, but again, when having this amount of free power every day, I just want to use it. But, I like my Linux rigs more. I've written a lot of shell-scripts which monitors and logs all kinds of stuff. Monitors temperature of each CPU core, each GPU and logs and warns if a certain limit is reached and shutdowns the system if a certain limit is crossed etc. etc. And I have all installed in RACK's so I like my Linux machines Wink

I hope for a friendly Linux miner to help me out...

Sorry for the long post, I wanted to explain it properly.

Hi,

Anybody that knows a tutorial or a site where I can get some help getting my Linux Rigs mining?

Systems: Headless Ubuntu/Debian Server Multiple GPU's.
OS: Ubuntu Server 18.04.x
GPU's: Nvidia GTX750ti's and GTX 1050ti's 4Gb

I know how to make my systems run with CUDA, headless, multiple GPU's etc. What I don't know yet, is how to get it mining. I've got them mining on windows, but I want them to run headless on Linux again, using all my shellscripts to handle upcoming issues.

I've got my bitcoin addresses. I've noticed the WinRigs do well when they are running the GMiner, T-Rex Miner and CC CUDA Miner.

What I wish for is a quick list on how to do this. Either installing each miners and a command sample on how start the miners mining in a pool and solo. Or just how to install nicehash poolmining on Linux.

This is what I've been able to find, but it still wouldn't run.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining multiple GPU's on a headless Linux Server CLI (Ubuntu/Debian) on: April 05, 2019, 11:26:06 PM
Hi,

CUDA/GPU mining on Linux

I've been mining on a windows rig, to check my hardware. It runs on windows. Now I'm ready to get my Linux rigs running. I've been running several rigs using CUDA / Ubuntu servers, headless and multiple GPU's without problems. BOINC and other stuff. Now I want these rigs to mine. So I know about ubuntu server, know how to get a >Linux rig to run using multiple GPU's, I know about CUDA - what I dont know is hos to install the miner on Ubuntu and the command to run it. I've written down the info from the widows rig mining, regarding my bitcoin address and, the server, port, host etc. and I believe it's about the same that I need to run it on Linux. So, if there's a helpful fellow inhere, who would give me a few examples on how to:

1. How to install the miner/miners on Linux/Debian/Ubuntu..
2. A couple of examples on the command CLI to solomine and mine in a pool.
3. Which miners would you suggest as the best? It seems that the best results so far has been T-Rex NVIDIA GPU Miner and then GMiner.

Algorithm: I want to use (I think) Equihash 144.5
Host: stratum://zhash.eu.nicehash.com:3369
User: MyBitcoinAddress.worker1

I've read about running on Linux on NiceHash' site, but I do need some info here. What about a couple of sample CLI commands to show how you run the miner. Apparently nicehash think that ccminer is the one when using nvidia cards.

echo 'export PATH=/usr/local/cuda/bin:$PATH' >> ~/.bashrc
sudo apt-get install build-essential libcurl4-openssl-dev git automake
git clone https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer.git
cd ccminer/
./autogen.sh
./configure CFLAGS="-O3 -Wall -march=native"
make
./ccminer

But I still need those samples of the command to run the miner using my info. So that I can put it into crontab. And is there a config file to do first? Can I run several miners? I read that theres a watchdog made now, and it would be very nice to know how to do this too.

The reason I want to use Linux is that I've been making a lot of shellscripts which watches over each CPU core, each GPU and controls and handles temperature issues. I'm getting warned if stuff heats up and if it gets to hot the system will shutdown. So please, point me in the right direction Wink

Any kind of help will be greatly appreciated

Kind Regards,
Dan

Hello again guys...

I got me one of those GTX1050ti 4Gb cards, the one from MSI. Now I'm trying to figure out which algorithm to mine... Right from the start it mined at 21.000-19.000 Sols. According to my calculations I would be able to mine the same in 1 day as I've bin so far in 1 month. Quite a difference. Then I tried to select which algorithms to mine and then it went straight down to nothing again Wink

But, now I should be able to mine running e.g. CGminer I guess. I'll be running my Linux systems and should the cards perform OK, I'll fill all 4 systems with 4 in each. I'm building a couple of raspberry pies, RACK mounted, mining using those USBminers.. Which is best do you think? And I don't think in used electricity, I'm producing my own power.

astraleureka, you install all of CUDA10 to mine???

Those GPUs are too old to mine any coin effectively. Even with free power you would be earning less than $1 per month. Also, why are you switching to a Cisco 18xx ISR for a router? They're very underpowered (an 1841 can barely do 20Mbps NAT throughput without maxing CPU).

Which CISCO would you suggest? I've got Fixed IP, and 16 extra IP's for internet servers. I've got a modem so I need a CISCO with a WAN port, no built-in modems or anything. My line will be upgraded within a month, we've got the fast lines out here (the sticks) at last Wink

Anyway one of you Linux Miners could help a fellow out ? Maybe making a little todo Wink I've been trying this for several months now, or maybe even a year now... It may just be due to the old cards, which I just didn't get was that old. Nevertheless, lesson learned...

Thanks,
KR

750Ti can mine Monero at a very low hashrate, but it is quite power efficient. Probably capable of some other algorithms too, although at low speeds.

If you want a new piece of hardware, just get a small x86 rackmount (with Atom or Celeron is okay) and use something like VyOS (https://vyos.io/) or PFSense (https://www.pfsense.org/) - it will be able to handle much more traffic than an 18xx ISR as well as many more features. Supermicro makes some good cheap barebones machines with Atom CPU in a quarter-depth 1U, about the same size as 18xx ISR.

Hi ... Again Wink

Well, now things are gertting better Wink I installed this GIT'ed CUDA 10 and suddenly my drivers GUI (TWEAK Bragging stuff) worked again. I did install CUDA earlier on, but this from inhere (link down below) bade a difference. Still, the GTX770 would take, but 750ti was OK i think. Look beneath. I still dont get it, 770 is more powerfull, but 750ti is a newer card though.

Look here...
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.0

More comming..... processing Wink

Sorry, it wasn't GIT'ed, its from inhere - But this is the CUDA 10 I installed just to see what this could do... Haven't tried the "nhm_windows_2.0.3.0.exe" yet... :
https://mega.nz/#F!O4YA2JgD!n2b4iSHQDruEsYUvTQP5_w

I especially like the words appearing "Mining with High Intensity"  Grin

This was what had changed compered to the other cards:

And here's some positive feedback:

What say you Sire Wink

OK, it's done... let's see what happens next... Trying the installled version of nicehash first then the one I found and the maybe we should try that LEGACY thingy...
Please notice that this windows tweak thing, it's possible to change card config there. Clock etc... And I've been hearing much about that. Not that I'm going to beat my card in any way. All my Linux rigs, the ones I buiuld for SETI etc., those I've been setting up with a lot of testing in advance, shellscripts I did which checked coretemps on CPU's but GPU's as well, and if one was high, I got a warning. If one or more was to high I got a warning, it went to a log and then the system shutdown... Using CUDA on Linux, the Ubunutu distro anyway, made the nvidia tool nvidia-smi go bananas.... only a simple readout of temp was possible, so I fitted some scripts Wink

Well, enough talk here... lets try it out Wink

Hi,

750Ti can mine Monero at a very low hashrate, but it is quite power efficient. Probably capable of some other algorithms too, although at low speeds.

Thats exactly why I chose them for my 2U Rackmounted serverchassis. Theres 4 in each chassis and it runs mobo and 4 GPU's for SETI under 300 watts! So using the more common 300watts 2U PSU its not that expensive. The 500watts 2UPSU costs twice the price of a 300watts here in DK...

OK, maybe I misunderstood firewall. In this case you mean firewall locally/the rig we are working at here Wink ?!?

Forwarded som ports... And, Installed a GTX750ti as well to see if it works better ´.

Well, I would have liked all these cards to work at something, because I've invested in quite a few. I will buy 1050ti 4 of them next week.. But still, I would very much like it to run... to solve this.. And as you say, smaller cards can be used, a guy I

AstralEureka, I can't seem to find a DL link to the Legacy version.... I'm ending up at all sorts of smelly sites with a lot of wrong stuff Wink

Hi AstralEureka Wink

Thanks my friend.... for helping us Wink We are being closed in by snow BTW Wink Well, I've got a GTX750ti as well (well, 8 or more I think), but this doesn't change anything, right?

Sorry for the late answer, I had an job to do this whole weekend.... I'm still building that cooler I refereed to earlier on. It'll be done this afternoon and the I hope to be able to solve the problem. I've tried the things we talked about. I need to find the one place in my config of the router, where I open all ports just to test this too. As we talked about I cant just "off" the whole shebang due to the DMZ setup. I couls shut everything down and reconfigure the router , but is this the thing to do now?

Well, to be honest I'm not sure what to get. There's a lot off different models in each series. I've written the firm i UK that I plan to buy it from.

You've read my little setup. What would you suggest? Budget max. 1000USD. Need to be RACK mountable Wink Prefer full width, not a kit Wink

Need to be able to bake a "safe side" and a "unsafe" where the web-servers, name servers, SQL and mail

Regarding the 3Gb, I was referring to this reply:

Quote from: BitCryptex on January 18, 2019, 03:50:22 PM
Ethereum mining requires at least 3 GB of VRAM due to constantly growing DAG size. Unfortunately, you won't be able to mine Ethereum with those two cards. I haven't used the new NiceHash app but the older one allowed user to choose algorithm. You should be able to mine something else.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash Mining - GTX on: January 19, 2019, 06:41:37 AM
Hi Mikey,

Did you see this about 3Gb?

It's just that AverageJoe from Youtube did it 3 monts ago using 1 Gb and 2 Gb... He did talk about a BETA driver or something like that... Can't remember the exact word. Do you know anyone using stuff like this now?

And its not ethereum only, for me. I want to mine bitcoins directly, but due to all of this "rubish" about it being or not being profitable, irritates me. What if you live on iceland or one of our (Danish) other islands... where electricity is almost free!?

Regarding firewall. Well, I can't disable NAT obviously Wink But a port forward maybe? What Say You Sire ?

just disable the firewall.

Theres not a ON/OFF option here. Theres Firewall settings only. This is where you set your place your webserver "outside" the NAT (DMZ). The "UnSafe" side as we usually call it. NAT does the firewall'ing here. DMZ, in case you don't know it, only work for one rig, no more. I cant just cut NAT. Then all machines would be out there...
But, I seem to remember theres a place where I can allow incomming ports and vice verse, I'm not sure... looking for it now.... Please see this.. A log from security&firewall:

I'll just try and throw that port  58133 in the face of my rig. It's just that I never, as in NEVER, really had luck in assigning a win rig with a fixed ip. I simply cant make it work...  On Linux distros no problem what so ever Wink

I'll give it a go Wink

Thanks Mikey!!! Really!!

Ethereum mining requires at least 3 GB of VRAM due to constantly growing DAG size. Unfortunately, you won't be able to mine Ethereum with those two cards. I haven't used the new NiceHash app but the older one allowed user to choose algorithm. You should be able to mine something else.

Hi my friend...

I feel like a complete idiot... I've bought 2x4 GTX750ti LP for my Linux rigs to get going and I had 2x4 GT640 LP. I'm lost for words.. Actually I'm pretty sad about this. I'm greatfull you helped me realising this so that I not wasted more time than I've allready did.. Cry

So now I'll go build my DIY combi cooler for my lathe and drill.... I've got my part of eBay from china yesterday... 7 weeks in transit Wink

Hi Mikey,

Thanks for your quick response... Really, thank you!

I so need a win on this......

I talk R2D2 pretty well so we can talk about routers, configs etc as its done Wink

My router (until this 1. february - It'll be replaced with a CISCO 18xx cant remember the model number and we haven't decided:)) is a DLink DIR 655 With static IP (Real static) . We've been given additional 16IP's from 1.2 also. I'm NAT'ing and this WIN Rig is set to DHCP. So, let's try that:

1- disable firewall/antivrus make sure NH folder is not in any protection mode
Antivirus completely uninstalled.
Regarding firewall. Well, I can't disable NAT obviously Wink But a port forward maybe? What Say You Sire Huh

2- check your router firewall , if you tell me what is the exact router you using,i  may be able to assist you,and easier way to trouble shoot this , would be to use a different router.
OK, its just that I was thinking that if its possible for it to mine using the CPU, then why not the GPU's?? Same "street" they are travelling at or? Wink

3- use a different version of nice hash, try Lagecy.
Well, there you lost me completely Wink I'm not familiar with the different distros... hence me being super greatfull for the help. First help I 'm getting beside Rinoa Super Genius and FAQ's - a lot of them..

I've got 3 images I want to share with you. Trying to ipload those images to our webserver . It'll appear beneath this in a moment.

Again, thank you!!!

OS: Win 7 Pro 64Bit [ver 6.1.7601]
Miner: Nicehash Miner v.: 2.0.3.0

CPU: Intel i5-4670K 3.4GHz
GPU1: Asus GT640
GPU2: Asus GTX770

I'm trying to get my windows rig to mine using one or both of my GPU's ... One is an older one, ASUS GT640 2Gb Low Profile from my SETI Linux Rigs I made, and the other is a GTX770, a very expensive card I bought a while back. I've got some GTX750ti LP as well, haven't tested those yet, but I don't want to use those, because I using those in my Linux rigs which I hope to get to work using Linux. But, this win rig here, I've heard that you can mine using nicehash even if your GPU isn't from yesterday. And this is why I'm trying ethereum.

Running the benchmark shows both cards, but only the CPU is chosen when running the miner. I've been trying for 3-4 weeks now. I'm not just asking away here Wink Please help me Wink

Kind Regards,
Dan
