1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: August 02, 2014, 03:24:33 AM
Slick pool Terk! I've been struggling to get a decent poolside hashrate on all the major and many of the minor scrypt switching pools which severely affected profitability. The 87MH/s I've pointed to Clever Mining is hashing at an average of 82.5MH/s with reject rate of only 1.3%. I struggled to get a poolside hash of mid 70's anywhere else.

Thank you for the great info on calculating worker difficulty for scrypt asics. That may be what is contributing to a better poolside hash. I was letting vardiff determine worker difficulty everywhere else.

Good LTC profitability too compared to many other pools.

I was a little baffed initially trying to figure out what coins I was mining, but I am happy to get better performance while you protect your proprietary info.

Keep up the great work!

Hello,

I started mining x11 with HD6750 which mined scrypt at ~200K and is now running at ~730K much cooler which is neat for a gutless gpu.

I've also started mining x11 with my CPU just to see how the two compared. Mining with 5 of 6 cores is hashing around 63K.

I'm wondering why the GPU mining is showing accepted shares that are decimal points such as Accepted ff78ffa5 diff 0.004/0.002 GPU 0. In the screenshot below you can see the GPU mining in the top window and the CPU below.

Is this mining the way it is supposed to, or have I mis-configured something?

Thanks.
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Why such a hashing difference between pools? on: May 26, 2014, 07:40:39 AM
I've been mining 5x Antminer S1's on BTCguild.com and Multipool.us for several months. I've noticed on BTCguild the units hash at about 915GH/s and on Multipool they hash at about 1005GH/s. None of the ants are overclocked.

Any thoughts as to why I am seeing such a discrepancy between these two pools?
6  Bitcoin / Mining support / Hashrates keep dropping on: May 09, 2014, 09:25:57 AM
Hi,

I'm running 5x Antminer S1 and the hash rates keep slipping lower and lower. I'm mining through BTC Guild with the worker difficulty set to 256 for each unit. All units were originally overclocked.

One unit began to shut off intermittently as temperatures began to increase from the winter. When I removed the overclock, that unit functioned without shutting off anymore. I determined the power supply on that particular unit was the issue as it had only 1 PCI-E power cables which I extended with an adapter to reach both plugs. Another unit also experienced intermittent shutoffs at the highest temps and subsequently had the overclock removed. The other power supplies have 2 PCI-E power cables and those units haven't experienced that problem.

The 5 units ran consistently between 930-950GH for weeks and now in the last few days it's been sliding. The units show that they are hashing between 170-215GH/s depending on each unit at any given point in time within the Antminer WRT software. In the BTC Guild dashboard the units are hashing a pathetic 135-195GH/s.

I tried redirecting all 5 units to MultiPool and didn't see any increase in hashrate.

After that I suspected I might be overloading a circuit and causing a brownout, but after turning off a computer on the same circuit, and moving 1 unit to another circuit, the hash rate is still abysmal.

Any ideas as to what I might be missing here?
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do I Reindex? on: April 25, 2014, 03:46:44 AM
You mean -rescan option? If your client failed to read blocks, write -rescan in console.

The easiest method is to start bitcoin-qt with the -rescan flag, by running "bitcoin-qt -rescan" in a console or command prompt.

-rescan is for finding missing transactions

-reindex is to rebuild the blockchain (some of the data might be corrupt, so you dont have to download everything new, just the corrupted files)

I see all kinds of results in Google and on here advising to reindex to solve the "failed to read block" error. I don't see anything that shows how to reindex. Any tips?

Just launch it with

bitcoin-qt -reindex from cmd (windows) or terminal (linux)

Ah command prompt did the trick, thank you!

Awesome, thanks guys. Yes I realize it is pointless, just trying to understand as much as possible.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / CPU takes hashes away from GPU on: April 24, 2014, 07:01:20 AM
Hi,

I'm running some antiquated hardware and when I run the GPU by itself, it hashes about 200KH/s. The CPU by itself hashes about 40KH/s. Obviously neither of these is impressive, and I'm just stockpiling some worthless coins on ScryptGuild. When I run the GPU and CPU together, the GPU drops to ~160KH/s and the CPU remains at 40KH/s. How can I prevent the GPU from mining slower when the CPU is also mining?

I'm running the following:
- Windows 7
- AMD Radeon HD6750 on CGMiner 3.7.2 and Catalyst 13.12
- AMD Phenom II X6 1090T on Pooler CPU Miner 2.3.3

I managed to get it mining via wifi, even though there is no antenna attached. The S1 is within 2' of the router. I can't figure out the WAN settings still for using an ethernet cable, but at least it's partially working.
12  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Can't Find Antminer S1 On Local Network on: March 09, 2014, 01:04:30 PM
Thank you guys, I have successfully logged into the Antminer and updated the CGminer settings.

I changed the WAN settings according to a tutorial on bitcointalk.org and moved the ethernet cable from the computer to the router. At this point I could not access the Antminer anymore until plugging back into the computer, so my WAN settings on the Antminer must be wrong?
13  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Can't Find Antminer S1 On Local Network on: March 09, 2014, 09:57:28 AM
I've gone through about 18 different tutorials which all have basically the same steps and I can't get connected to the Antminer S1 WRT login screen. By the tutorials, it seems to be very similar to setting up an Avalon Mini which I have done in the past, but I can't for the life of me make this happen.

The Antminer was shipped with a piece of paper that has a different IP address than the sticker on the back of the unit, and neither of the IP addresses are working when connected to the router or the computer (tried a couple computers too).

I did try the reset button as well, holding it down for about 20s and still can't get connected to the unit.

The power supply is jumpered and the unit is receiving power.

Any ideas?
14  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Trouble Setting Up Avalon Mini 60GH/s Rig on: February 26, 2014, 09:26:51 PM
That worked well. Running at 375 frequency and played around with worker difficulty on the pool. It's pretty consistently around 55GH now +/-3.

The only problem left that I can't solve is wireless. I have it running on a LAN right now. When I go into network settings I can set up wifi and disable the LAN and it continues to hash along great. As soon as I power it down and move it to the intended location, it doesn't connect when I power it back up until plugged into the LAN again.

Any ideas on how to get it to connect via wifi only after rebooting?
15  Bitcoin / Mining support / Is it possible to increase Avalon Mini frequency beyond 375? on: February 26, 2014, 05:05:40 AM
I just set up an 4 module Avalon Mini 60GH asic at frequency 375. In open WRT it is pretty consistently hashing at 55GH. In BTC Guild dashboard, it is usually around 50GH. My temps are peaking around 45, so there seems to be plenty of safe room to play with before the cutoff of 70. Is there anyway to increase the chip frequency beyond 375? When I try, it stops mining until I reduce it to 375 again.
16  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Trouble Setting Up Avalon Mini 60GH/s Rig on: February 22, 2014, 09:23:41 PM
I used the reset switch and now I'm online hashing at 39-40GH/s. Can you recommend any good documentation on tweaking the Mini to get that hashrate up?
17  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Trouble Setting Up Avalon Mini 60GH/s Rig on: February 22, 2014, 07:40:45 PM
Thank you ManeBjorn, I have successfully located the Avalon through the router and am at the login screen. The username is preloaded as root and the password I was provided doesn't work. Is there usually a default username password? I will check back with the seller to see if it was changed at all.

Hi,

I recently aquired an Avalon Mini, and have run into some difficulty setting it up.

Here is what I am running and what I have done so far:

Any ideas why I would be getting a page not found error?
