Hey,
I am planning to make 3 mining rigs. With the following config:
Mobo: Asrock H81 Pro BTC
Gpu: 6xR9 280 (per rig) i.e. 18-R9 280
PSU: Corsair
Ram: Corsair
HDD: WD
Firstly, please tell me if the following config will be good enough or not.
Secondly, how will all these three rigs mine together. As in will using the same configs and details of my pool on all the three rigs will do the thing or is there something else that needs to be done.
Thirdly, I need a minimum monthly income of $1000 and plan to mine DogeCoin, will that be a good choice or not? If No, then please do suggest me a good AltCoin.
Also, i am expecting the cumulative hashrate to be around 12,000 Khash/s. Am i right?

Why do you want to buy a hard drive? So you save on risers. You can use risers but not all powered. Actually i live in India and Asrock officially does not sell H81 PRO here. If i have to get one i probably will have to import it from Malaysia or USA. The problem with that is, if something happens to the mobo their won't be any warranty for that. This is why i am thinking to go for a Gigabyte or some other mobo to which at least 5-6 GPU'S can be connected. Suggest me one? I am looking for the best available options actually. R9 290 was going out of budget, so didn't go for it. Suggest me something good in 280? I'll see if i can manage to get it in India.

Hello,
I was looking forward to make a mining rig but am confused between XFX Double D R9-280X-TDFD and MSI AMD R9 280X. I am not able to understand as to which has a higher hash rate and would be more durable and profitable for a long term use. Would be glad if ya could help me.

I don't think its worth spending an extra $1000 on 6 waterblocks + radiator + pump.
Thanks. Also,to avoid the noise why can't just an air conditioner be used in the rig room? A proper AC. What do you think will it keep the room enough cool to keep the rigs in a stable condition? |

Just one last thing, should i go for a Liquid Cooing system? As in can i use a single cooler to cool 6 GPU's running on a single mobo? :-) |

Do 6 rigs. 3 cards per rig.
PSU min.1000w golden/platinum efficiency, could use two 750w powers also but considering you are noob, I wouldn't start with two PSU. Google this.
Undervolt your GPU's. Google this.
Ram 4-8Gb 1333 DDR3 /rig
HDD: NO hdd use litecoinBAMT and usb-stick. Google this
Remember to use only two rigs behind one fuse. So you need at least 3 individual supply-lines from your fusebox to your rigs.
See that there is no other load behind those fuses.
You will need allso risers for your GPUs and a case of some sort. Google this

i dont think he meant supplying 5000w via paying the bill. you need to be able to supply that much to the wall without burning your house down.
Yeah i have several switches, so 5000w from the wall is not an issue. Also, Is 5000w the accurate supply or their is a need of +/- in terms of power. Thanks Yes you need enough outlets from separate fuses, so that the fuses wont go off.
From 230V outlet and 10A fuse you can get 2300W.
Also when the time comes to enlarge your mining farm you will need to know do you have big enough main-fuses in your house to
support such a high energy consumption.
Also you will need big enough PSU's for your rig.
I would prefer you to use only 3-4 gpus in on motherboard, since the cost of the psu will be ridiculous.
This way you could save money, use it on gpu's and scatter the risk of rig-failure.
