1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox source code leaked ... on: March 06, 2014, 07:35:06 AM
I posted about this before.
There are some doubts about its validity.

Well, there is slim to null proof and it seems like people arent very interested in this.

http://techcrunch.com/2014/03/03/mt-gox-source-code-leaked-by-hackers-along-with-team-information-customer-data/

Comments?
Dont know about the validity of the source and I also know MtGox lost its database long ago, this could be just another copy of that.
The IRC history leads me in that direction since the guys says "yes is old" and "new document not so many".

Smells like BS.
4  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGox Official Statement 03-03-2014 on: March 03, 2014, 08:40:53 AM
So this means when MtGox starts up again people will drain it, slowly, of all the funds.
The only way people will stay is if they start to provide something new, like some kind of interest rate or something else.

All hail the Lord of Confusion!

Immortals would be Mega-Procrastinators if they existed  Grin
I do exist!
As long as you dont ignore me...
7  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Karpeles sent an email to Reuters, Feb 25th on: February 25, 2014, 03:23:30 PM
I harshly agree, ever watched Highlander? Immortals really have a differant concept of time, Mark's not immortal, he thinks he is though, So lets calculate at His time
Multiply by three?
I relatively agree with your agreement, but only because time is relative.
Relative to what? Well, to Mark ofc.

I think relative Mark-time is one decimal point. So, if you think "days", then in Mark-time it is "weeks".
If you think "weeks", then the Mark-time relativity states "months".
8  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Karpeles sent an email to Reuters, Feb 25th on: February 25, 2014, 03:11:57 PM
I think we should look at this from another perspective.
In Mark Krabapples dreamland he is immortal. Immortal people tend to have a different estimation of time compared to the rest of us.

So the question you should ask your self is, how fast does time pass for the immortal Mark Krabapples?
I think we need to write some software to show people how Mark-Time works.
9  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why is blockchain.info & competitors telling us the news about MtGox on: February 25, 2014, 01:52:56 PM

Where is the gox official announcement?

Next up... burger king have a statement about mcdonalds

Why?
Cause Mark is a horrible CEO.
He has no idea what he is doing in that seat.
If I had my way I would send him to business school just to see him fail.
10  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: DO NOT LET EMPTY GOX, GOXXED YOU! READ THIS! on: February 25, 2014, 01:37:04 PM

Should say "Mark", instead of "Matt"....

That must be a function of the forum?
<ALLCAPS>Test Test, Hello World</ALLCAPS>

I would not be suprised if we see prices hit low $200.
11  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Mtgox lost 744,408 BTC due to malleability-related theft!!! on: February 25, 2014, 12:46:41 PM
Quote: " At this point 744,408 BTC are missing due to malleability-related theft which went unnoticed for several years."
I fail to see how such a loss which was, as far as I can see, directly related to the malleability issue that MtGox didn't take into account when writing their wallet system, can be considered "theft". If you're sending out more coin than you should be, all on your own, how can the recipient be considered a thief? You gave them to him.

I agree in the rest of that quote except for that 1 word. Perhaps gifting a thesaurus to the originator of that quote would be in order?

=squeak=

Is it illegal to drive past the speed limit, even when the police are not watching?
What has been done is abusing a system for economical gain, very illegal in most countries.

a nice analysis of Mtgox's current financial situation from Ryan Selkis. I am amazed by the details he provided.

source: http://www.scribd.com/doc/209050732/MtGox-Situation-Crisis-Strategy-Draft

In the paper it says: "The cold storage has been wiped out due to a leak in the hot wallet".

How is this possible?Huh??. Are they coupled?Huh. Or is it a huge theft by Mark Karpeles???

Has someone an answer for this?
Hot Pocket held, about, 2% of all BTC.
So, if the Hot Pocket (wallet) was less then 2% it was topped off by the Frigid Wallet.

Yes, but not automatically, otherwise it would not be a cold (frigid) wallet by definition, or am i wrong?

Its all about definition.
Some one or some thing updated the Hot Pocket with new coins from the Frigid Wallet.
If it was a dedicated hardware, a person, software, whatever... doesnt matter. The thing doing the transfers did not take notice.

How many duplicate threads do we need?
Perhaps the reports about illiterates are true?
15  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox is bankrupt, and Mark Karpeles is a thief! on: February 25, 2014, 10:38:56 AM
Man, how do you accidentally lose three-quarter million bitcoins and not notice. It's like sleeping through Hiroshima and not noticing anything different when you wake up.
I think Mark is still sleeping, dreaming.
16  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: html source of mtgox.com on: February 25, 2014, 10:27:28 AM
i think this might have been done purposely to deceive in to thinking gox is coming back.
Could have been a good tactic to steal more money, if they left the market open....
17  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox is bankrupt, and Mark Karpeles is a thief! on: February 25, 2014, 09:51:15 AM
So what's the proper term here: Goxed or Zhuo Tonged?
I think there are several words for this.
"Raped" was the first that came to my mind.
Thanks for making that much clearer.
I was worried that people did not see what I wrote, again, thanks.
18  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: To all the ppl that wired money to MtGox in the past weeks on: February 25, 2014, 09:42:04 AM
How do you feel now?

Did greed get the best of you?

When i saw threads regarding how to wire money to MtGox, i wish those greedy pigs would lose all their money.

No sympathy for you!

Everyone is greedy to some extent.
But the worst kind are the greedy ones whom are jealous of others, thats what people call "Douch".
19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Possible lead on MtGox stolen BTC? on: February 25, 2014, 09:29:27 AM
sums in millibitcoin
Total of 782,558,724.9885 mBTC, thats 782,000 BTC.
MtGox report said a loss of approximately 744,000 BTC.
20  Economy / Service Discussion / Possible lead on MtGox stolen BTC? on: February 25, 2014, 09:22:01 AM
Just found this:
https://blockchain.info/address/1Drt3c8pSdrkyjuBiwVcSSixZwQtMZ3Tew?currency=MBC
Could amount to nothing, but the matching addresses and BTC amount is scary.
