I don't see why 60 minutes would be a big deal for any company to wait anyways, unless perhaps they are selling digitally transferred goods
Or if you are purchasing something in store. I would hate to have to wait 60minutes for a beer from some local vendor.

glad this thread got a bump...I had $5 in BTC that I had forgotten when I cashed out all my ghs last year.

And people join/leave the IRC channel all the time.
which creates the fun part of the IRC channel. someone pops in and asks..."what is going on"...get's an answer then ten minutes later another person pops in and asks the same

Meanwhile my payouts keep coming....
yeah, that is the thing I find confounding. this whole idea of a scam originated from the claims of a single individual who created an account to grouse and moan that he didn't win a free miner in a contest. that the pool has continued to pay out and those who are actually mining have gotten excellent support from the owner and his designates for months now doesn't appear to be enough to clear the specious claims of one clearly fake account.

Lure of a 10% bonus on earnings as stated on the thread page? No. Because it's a fabrication of course.
Many of us got the 10% bonus for several months. It was great while it lasted, especially since we all knew it couldn't last forever. Maybe you prefer the constantly late payments?
Late payouts can occur when this pool is catching up from an unlucky block. This has been made pretty clear and we all understand the risks but so far, s0br has made good - sometimes with extra for inconvenience so we stick it out because the pool pays better than any other and waiting a few hours every once in awhile to get that is something that may of us are willing to risk if you don't want to take that risk, it is understandable. Mining is risk anyway. Or maybe you like the complete lack of support/info/posts here by the OP?
I wasn't aware that providing support in this forum was a requirement for starting a pool. Frankly, given that weakly substantiated attacks can continue by accounts clearly created for no other purpose than to defame the pool owner, I am not surprised that s0br doesn't come here to provide support. What would be the point? It would just devolve into an accusatory troll war and would be useless to those seeking help. s0br provides direct support in IRC, email, and via the site tickets. He and his folks are responsive, helpful and have always made it right...at least from my perspective and from others with whom I have spoken. I am not generally one to jump onto things that appear to be too good to be true - which is pretty much how this pool has been characterized in this thread by a few who probably aren't even mining there - but the honest answer is that for those of us who have actually been mining there for the better part of 10 months now is that the pool does pay out and does so much better than the majority of other pools.

All PPS pools will eventually payout more than it mines if paying a 0% bonus, let alone a higher one. There is a reason why PPS pools charge a fee and need a sizeable balance
I am confused about the first point...statistically speaking, over a period of time the luck should even out and even a PPS pool will "break even" yes? the second point I understand...as we have experienced first hand, the pool needs to have a pretty good buffer to get over the unlucky humps

BAN is paying out just over 0.01144 BTC /THS per day for the last couple days....while the other large PPS pool is paying 0.01086027 BTC / THS per day.
yeah...it must be a "SCAM!" ...Really said so <grin>

More proof: This is the type of information that was requested from BAN previously by the people mining on their pool when their "giveaway" was rumbled - which they were unable to supply. Why? Because the giveaway miners were never sent. As I have said since day one. dude! are you still on this "I didn't win a miner so it must be a scam" pedestal? the freebie miners were a giveaway.....I didn't win one either and even if (and I don't think they did) they were given to friends...who cares? the pool has been paying out better than average despite your claims and that is all miners should think about oh, wait...I forget you aren't mining at the pool....never mind....carry on grousing about nothing btw..kudo's on creating your identity and then building it up with nothing other than specious claims against a pool...and refusing to respond to requests to prove you didn't....it is clear who the "scammer" is here ;-)

is it possible the file is in another directory that I may have overlooked last night.
no, btcgarden didn't use a cgminer.conf file to configure cgminer...that is why all the configs are on the script when it starts cgminer so, you have api-listen running, it should be going you might try downloading miner.php from https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer/blob/master/miner.php and putting it in the /var/www directory on the miner. If that runs and works, you know that the cgminer api is pushing data
|
|
|
Does anyone know how to get these so they can be monitored from other apps through the API,
check /var/www/run.sh to make sure the cgminer startup script includes --api-listen

got the following email just a bit ago As much as we like to write you with good news, today we've got the unfortunate task of telling you our hot wallet was compromised again last night. 2 blocks confirmed, hit the wallet, and immediately send the BTC to https://blockchain.info/address/1B6eWiYx8ZobX3rw62o23KybxjxwJg3hRYThis, is the reason payouts have been delayed so long. But, we're not done yet. Not by a long shot. As you're reading this, the payment system is being recoded and made even more secure, and payment processing is being moved offsite and redone. At this time, we anticipate these payments will begin processing by midnight EST / 9 PM PST tonight. We know this is an inconvenience, but we appreciate your patience and your loyalty. We're still 0% fee Pay Per Share with bonus, and still the best place to mine Bitcoins. Thanks again for sticking with us, and contact support@bitcoinaffiliatenetwork.com if you have any questions. Thanks again for your support, Gil and the BitAffNet Team

Here is the difference: KNC is might be scamming you, but your business partner crook in the third world countrymight will be scamming you.
there ...fixed that for you ;-)

since the thermal paste isn't an adhesive, I am betting that most of the strength in the bond is from vacuum which can be pretty significant.
it isn't going to have much shear strength so sliding or twisting should break the bond.
warming it is going to be challenging because the heat sink is designed to radiate the heat away from the chip itself. You are going to need a pretty decent heat gun to overcome this.

(greedy companies wanting to make a buck)
As opposed to greedy individuals wanting to make a buck!?!?! sorry folks, just because someone else has more resources than me and/or is willing to take a bigger risk by investing in more mining power than I doesn't mean that it's unfair. Changing the protocol so that it break ASIC mining or has folks forever chasing a changing mechanism would hurt individual miners like me more than a big company because I don't have the resources to keep replacing my miners every few months where a big company probably could The only way you could ever completely remove the incentive for people to invest heavily in bitcoin mining and become big would be to remove all of the value from mining that would certainly shut down those greedy companies wanting to make a buck real fast
|
|
|
Rather than do cloud mining, might have better return sending the miners to a third-world country where stealing gigawatts of electricity is as easy as bribing the meter reader guy $30 a month...
yes, because instead of investing thousands of dollars and trusting KNC, who might be crooks, I am better off sending thousands of dollars of equipment to a third world country and trusting someone who is a crook and willing to steal electricity for me.

Still hasn't proven a thing...
yeah..he seems to forget the rule of law is that the burden is on the accuser despite my repeated attempts to help him understand the flaw in his argument by requesting he too prove a negative. sad thread indeed
