1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BBT] BitBoost - The Block - Decentralized Ecommerce on Ethereum Blockchain on: October 11, 2017, 05:51:20 PM
no relevant news here, no in the italian thread and just a little change in the token sale website page... not good... princeshake there are some further news on telegram?

I've checked less that an hour ago and there were nothing so relevant. no business owners intervention and no official news about problems or comments on the token sale. I will let you know if there will be some changes later.

Orderbook seems to working now, after they made some upgrades. But they gave us a bad start, and now we have to repair the damage and reach out to investors who got turned away.   Angry

In any case, we are also working to get large investors into the system, so I think we will see some big movement in the coming days. Our sale is 4 weeks long, it's still quite early.

Orderbook has indeed been causing us headaches, with some people locked out, or the widget not loading at all. We are working with the vendor to get it fixed.

The beta test invitations have been sent to everyone who signed up.

A few things to note:

- There are three versions, one for macOS, one for Windows, and one for Linux. The Linux version hasn't been tested on every flavor of Linux, so we'd appreciate feedback on that. (And feedback on everything, of course!)

- You will need test ether in order to buy anything, and test BBT in order to list anything. Your invitation email has instructions on how to get those.

- There is one known issue that we are trying to deal with: the app runs on the Ropsten test network, and computationally expensive operations, like listing an item, have become infuriatingly slow recently, so we are working on a fix, either to the app, or by setting up a private test network. We'll have a fix as soon as possible, hopefully by the end of the week.

Thank you for your help with testing! Please break things Smiley

Still waiting for the release of the beta test, or has it been launched already?
For now,  there's no news yet. But we all waiting towards it, hopefully before the main token sale starts on the 10th October. Am sure it will be announced on all social platforms

We tried for tonight, but couldn't quite finish. The invites will go out starting at 9.00 in the morning on the 10th, Swiss time (CET).

These events that you have linked here are related to Bitboost or these are just some events in ICO ecosystem that should be interesting for us potential investors?

These are blockchain-related events that we are attending, or presenting at, or exhibiting at.

I am particularly excited for the expected release of the beta version of The Block on 9th Oct,  to try out all the amazing features.

Is it an official news? I'm curious from a very long time to finally see how BitBoost will appear to its users. May you quote or link where have you read this news, please?

Not official, but we are working like mad to get it out tomorrow. We will announce it when it is certain, along with links to the macOS, Windows, and Linux versions.

Bitboost is one formidable project that impresses me so much.  I just learnt that they already started to work on the listing process in exchanges even before its ico commences with plans to go into as many exchanges. With this kind of hard work from the core team,  the BBT token would gain more value over a short period of time.

The last few weeks have been pretty intense for the BitBoost team. I haven't been in this thread in quite a while because of that, but someone in our Telegram channel gave me a heads-up on the activity here.

By the way, our channel is here, and is our preferred way of staying in touch with the community:

https://t.me/BitBoostint

A quick summary of where we are at the moment:

1. Our token main sale begins Tuesday (Oct 10)
2. We are trying hard to get our public beta out the door on Monday (Oct 9)
3. We'll be at several events over the next couple of weeks. I'll add a post with the dates and locations. Come meet us!

Finally, in case I didn't say this above, I am Paul Mahone, the CEO. You can find me in the Telegram channel, or at paul.mahone@bitboost.net.

I have made a contract:

0x934cbbe5377358e6712b5f041d90313d935c501c

It's a small experiment, just 5 participants (so 4, since I have joined it already), mixing 1 ether.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt Marketplace & Freemarket - two decentralized ecommerce on: June 25, 2015, 12:26:20 AM

Yes but from the superNet slack I read that one of the next features of Freemarket will be coinUSD payments Grin

That is correct, and we have CoinoUSD payments functioning now and in testing. Should be in the next release.

And yes, we use ShapeShift for coin conversions.

And no, those screenshots are not photoshopped. (I am flattered, I guess, that they fooled someone!) That is what the UI looks like, and it is functioning and available right now.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: NXT freemarket - new decentralized physical goods market Released! on: March 06, 2015, 01:38:21 AM
Does NXT Freemarket have an escrow service?

Escrow is built into the next version, which will be out soon-ish.

What... what was that?

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in OpenBazaar? on: November 14, 2014, 04:21:53 PM
Disappointed to learn this about OpenBazaar:

http://forum.openbazaar.org/index.php?p=/discussion/105/need-a-permanent-node-to-set-up-a-store

That is not decentralization for me.

If true, that sounds a bit... risky. If you need to run a node in order to sell your items, then you are a target, possibly an identifiable one. This is exactly the structural flaw that SR, SR2, etc have. If you rely on a server, you will be found and taken down/prosecuted. The blockchain solves this particular problem.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in OpenBazaar? on: November 14, 2014, 04:09:49 PM
A web interface has already been developed (not by the core team, but by another NXT user who liked FreeMarket). They still need an SSL certificate, but here's the address:

https://freemarketlite.com

That might work well on a phone browser, I am looking forward to trying that out  Cool

I could be wrong but I think the web interface was developed by the core team.  That NXT user just made his node publicly available so anyone can connect to it over the internet via the standard web interface (and I believe it's overloaded right now).

The web interface was made by that same user. The core devs didn't make it.

Doesn't the core FreeMarket interface work via a browser pointed to localhost like NRS does?  If so, that's a web interface.

The core interface is a web interface, yes, but the interface at fremarketlite.com is different. That one was not made by the core team, that's what I meant.

I have not yet tried either on a phone, but the core one is responsive, so I am hopeful that it will look good on a phone.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in OpenBazaar? on: November 14, 2014, 03:58:18 PM
Why not invest in Nxt FreeMarket? It is actually already released.

nxtfreemarket.com

FreeMarket is not really free, coz sellers have to pay to post items there. There also fees for each transaction.

FreeMarket is "free as in speech," not "free as in beer." It is without restrictions, not without cost.

The fees are extremely low though. You're looking at 15 to 20 US cents to post an item and sell it. A buyer will pay about 2 cents. That's no matter how expensive the item is, and variable quantities will be in the next release, so if you sell several of an item, the fees to post per item will be even lower. Post 100 of an item, and you're paying 0.02 cents per item.

The interface is very simple, I bet it works great on a phone through a browser.  You need to be able to connect to someone's node though.

In my opinion, FreeMarket's devs seem to be a friendly and intelligent group, and seem dedicated. I think there will be more cool features to come

O HAI.

I am one of the devs. I like to think we are friendly and intelligent Smiley

We certainly love feedback. "The devs are listening," I like to say. We are committed to making FreeMarket as good as it can possibly be, and for that, we need to know what users want.
