6  Economy / Service Announcements / [ANN] [ProofOfKeys in 2019] Top 3 Decentralized Successful Crypto Exchanges on: September 25, 2019, 11:32:38 AM
The concerns around centralized cryptocurrency exchanges being hacked, corrupt, or operating illegally has spread fear amongst traders for years. From Mt. Gox (the largest crypto exchange in 2013) closing its doors and leaving its users without ~850,000 BTC to the 1Broker exchange recently seized by the FBI, you can assume the worst when it comes to leaving your coins in these companies hands.

Today, we’ll discuss the recently introduced Proof Of Keys movement that could reveal the scammers among centralized exchanges and why you should consider a decentralized exchange (DEX) in 2019. We crafted a list of the most advantageous DEXs that you can use, as a trader or just simple crypto owner.

1)  IDEX
IDEX is a decentralized exchange for trading Ethereum (ERC-20) tokens. IDEX combines the speed of centralization with the security of blockchain settlements.

Advantages:

Real-time
Fills multiple orders at once
Low gas costs
Smart contract protection
Access to analysis tools
Market making rewards
Community trust

2) VDex
VDex is a tradable digital assets platform that integrates the Vespucci analytical interface and its own Verto wallet. Its users maintain their own private keys for VTX and a vast array of other digital assets even while trading.

Advantages:

Easy to use interface
Non-custodial trading
Multi-currency wallet
Enhanced wallet with orderbook “mining” capabilities
Flexible, compatible and open orderbooks for accessing cross-chain liquidity pools
Multisig, atomic swap, and Loopring transactions
Swappable and additive decentralization protocols. Tendermint BFT, parsec and raft on top of EOSIO dPOS triggered by AI according to network state
Fully open source
Evolving architecture*
*vDEX is part of a more complex DAE (digital assets ecosystem) that is governed by a DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) represented by a member-driven foundation and a third party partnership structure that ensures its ability to become self-regulating, self-funding, and autonomous.

3) Paradex
Paradex is a relay platform that allows customers to trade hundreds of Ethereum (ERC-20) tokens directly from their own wallets.

Advantages:

100% decentralized
Peer-to-peer relay
Hybrid solution with decentralized components of a relay and off-chain architecture for everything else
Doesn’t require user accounts or taking custodianship of users’ funds
Real-time trading experience
Generic price discovery
Backed by Coinbase

8  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [ANN]Do you also believe that the future is headings towards DAE's and DEX's?? on: August 29, 2019, 01:53:17 PM
A lot of traders like DEXs because they have some serious advantages. Strangely enough, these advantages are why a lot of traders distrust decentralized exchanges.
9  Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANN] Whose Bitcoin Is it Anyway? on: August 27, 2019, 05:20:49 PM
From a bystander’s viewpoint, it appears that the blind trust story was a way for Wright to explain why he couldn’t access the 1 million BTC he claimed to have owned. Roping in his deceased friend Dave Kleiman seemed a useful way to hide the tracks of his deception.

After all, dead men tell no tales, right?

But their families do. And when the Kleiman estate appeared to lay claim to half of the mythical Bitcoin fortune, that’s where Wright’s troubles began. Now he finds himself indebted to the tune of around $5 billion - and that doesn’t include all the coins from Bitcoin hard forks over the years, which are considered relevant related assets.

Such poetic justice was not lost on either Judge Bloom or Judge Rheinart, both of whom used literary references to color their impressions of the proceedings. Both seem relevant now.

Judge Bloom quoted Sir Walter Scott, writing:

“Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.”

Judge Rheinart referenced 17th-century English playwright John Dryden when he annotated his ruling with the following:

“Apparently, dead men tell no tales, but they (perhaps) send bonded couriers...I completely reject Dr. Wright’s testimony about the alleged Tulip Trust, the alleged encrypted file, and his alleged inability to identify his bitcoin holdings.”

If a courier shows up in 2020 carrying a dead man’s key, then the American judicial system will have been proved wrong. Until then, Craig Wright has a bill to pay.

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NewsBTC] How is a DAE Different from a DEX? on: August 27, 2019, 08:51:40 AM
DEXs will play a key role in the adoption of blockchain and cryptocurrencies. So far we’ve seen the popularity of it increasing lately, where a lot of crypto exchanges are planning to venture into this zone.
Ultimately, DEX and centralized exchanges serve different purposes and different traders’ needs. Understanding how they work can definitely make trading easier, cheaper and more secure for you.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Crypto Futures Exchange Deribit Launching Bulk Derivatives Trading on: August 23, 2019, 01:27:20 PM
Deribit claims it’s becoming the first crypto futures and options exchange to provide large-volume trades of bitcoin and ether derivatives.

The move comes via a partnership with institutional messaging service Paradigm, according to a BNN Bloomberg report on Thursday.

Deribit’s CEO, John Jansen, reportedly said the new service will offer block trades with a minimum of 40 bitcoin and 800 ether for options contracts linked to those cryptocurrencies.

Ten top crypto trading firms have already signed up to use the service, with Paradigm founder Anand Gomes naming QCP Capital in the report.

According to its website, Paradigm offers tools allowing over-the-counter traders to automate price negotiation and settlement. Using Paradigm’s messaging service, parties can set up the options trades, which are then then settled and cleared at Deribit. Commonly, traders use Telegram to carry out such negotiations.

Amsterdam-based Deribit is not regulated in the Netherlands, since local regulation defines derivatives as cash-settled contracts, BNN Bloomberg says. However, the exchange has the safety net of an insurance fund, should traders default on payments due to issues like bankruptcy.

Back in March, Galaxy Capital-backed institutional trading firm Caspian launched trading in crypto derivatives through an integration with Deribit’s platform.
