What are the applications of accounts like these?
Older accounts actually do have practical uses other than to just represent being a long standing member of the twitter community.
Older twitter accounts are less susceptible to being suspended for suspension evasion. So if you have been suspended on twitter before for whatever reason, these ones are less likely to be suspended in relation to your other accounts. (It does happen but a lot less often)
As for bulk usage, older accounts carry more value as they can be deemed as more trustworthy. They are also more likely to have ads enabled and have a higher chance of getting accepted for a developer account. These accounts can be used for marketing and advertising purposes.

I currently live in Singapore, the laws are not too restrictive in the case of crypto as there are numerous crypto ATMs scattered around the island. I tend to use bitcoin as a payment method because PayPal is complete and utter garbage, I've lost $3,000+ to unwarranted limitations and shadowbans. I've genuinely pledged that I will NEVER use PayPal, so crypto is the next best thing other than bank transfer in my location of residence.
