You have not even reached the full member rank yet, I think to become a Moderator you must at least be a reliable member and have a lot of contributions on the forum. You have 210 posts but only 13 merit, which proves that the majority of your posts do not contribute much.
Perhaps you should become a legendary member before you intend to race for Moderator.
Fair enough
2  Other / Meta / Re: I'm running for becoming the new Trading Discussion Moderator on: December 09, 2019, 05:16:11 PM
Maybe you are dreaming of it, nothing true, as you are not talking real things here! You registered 7 months ago and now you want to be Bitcointalk forum moderator! This is a good joke, mate. Even you have a small amount of posts! and merit points? not mentionable! At least try to know how things work here, and be a Sr or Hero member through your good efforts posts and huge support for Bitcoin and crypto! Making jokes/fun posts like this won't help you mate.

Alright Champ

You can ban me for suggesting this but I believe the mod team has some extra fat to cut out.

This forum is negative. Merit or no merit. Hero or no hero. There is too much negativity here.
3  Other / Meta / Re: I'm running for becoming the new Trading Discussion Moderator on: December 09, 2019, 05:04:53 PM

Is Cyrus the moderator in the Trading Section retiring?

Trading section isn't very busy so if you are so fond of reading and moderating all the posts in this section, being a mod is one job good for your personality. I was thinking of the same thing but I think for me to be able to be a moderator in this particular section I'd have to be very good in Trading myself.
Yeah I think Cyrus is mod there but i never see any posts from Cyrus, and never get responses from PM's that i have sent. So your guess is as good as mine.

All really typical responses from people here. All negative and downvoting, opaque. My goal was to bring in new, fun, energy, but wow there is such a dark and boring "Cant be done" "You cant do that" negative Ninnys at Bitcoin Talk. Or the mods just ignore you. At least i interact with members.

Its no surprise to me anymore why Satoshi left this place.

Really where does it say that nobody can ask to be moderator like i have done? In the past i have been a moderator at a community this size for over one decade and I did fine. Then i opened my own message board community and was administrator of that. It is not rocket science, just getting along with people and interacting.

Why not try something new? And yeah I put a weird political flavor to my presentation because it is just eye catching. Otherwise i have no political assortment of any kind. I'd be mod because it would be a big challenge to grow and be part of the community. I had no knowledge that the mods here are paid.
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do expert traders hide their loses? on: December 09, 2019, 03:27:06 AM
How do you toggle a poll into this topic? We needed a poll but now it is too many pages.

It is not really do they hide their losses, it is more like do they just completely hide themselves entirely and act like secret agents with top secret clearance, or.... are they more human-like?

Are top traders like sharks with no life in them at all? All they do is gobble up bitcoins and can never get enough? Or are these real living productive people, or just are they on a totally different wave length?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Week (Dec 22-28) on: December 09, 2019, 01:41:39 AM
It's about that time of year. It only happens once per year. "Bitcoin Week" ... it really seems like it should be a thing doesnt it?

People buy a lot of bitcoins during those holiday times.

All nuzzled up all comfy in clean warm clothes, sitting on comfy couch next to the tree glowing, the scent of pine in the air, sipping hot chocolate! Might as well buy some coin on your laptop. Buy, hold, whatever it is...

So should we coin this and put a stamp on it?
6  Other / Meta / I'm running for becoming the new Trading Discussion Moderator on: December 08, 2019, 04:40:36 PM
And I need everyones support. Obviously once I'm in there, this place is going to start stepping up to becoming a smokeshow of talented traders. Let's clean this place up and do what it takes.

Contests
Journals
Specialists
Special sub-forum

Much more to come!
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Question for the Speculators... (experiment) on: December 07, 2019, 01:21:57 AM
How are they going to click buy and sell if they are not going to look at the pair in the exchange
Well,
We can hunt down a total newbie trader in the Trading Discussion forum
Newbies often post topics there saying "Im totallly new where do I start?"
Then if they agree to be part of the experiment, bring them over to Speculating
Then they can place orders from posting in this topic with a Volunteer Operator
Just use someones account at some exchange, they act as the operator
Let's say it is only $50 USD worth of a trading account
See what happens.
See how many orders they place and if they buy sell or hold, etc

The operator eliminates them from seeing live charts and prices bouncing
So they will be away from the heat of seeing real live charts in action

They only have all us bozos at Speculating to listen to Smiley

I can probably pony up a few bits
8  Economy / Speculation / Question for the Speculators... (experiment) on: December 06, 2019, 06:53:29 PM
What would happen if we took a new trader, somebody with zero knowledge at all, and I give them I dunno, .01 Bitcoins for free, for them to get started trading with. What is that, about $200 worth?

But here is the experiment. The experiment is to have them ONLY read this Speculator forum and nothing else is allowed. They are not allowed to use any charts, not allowed to learn TA or FA.  They would just rely upon being just another bozo on the bus here at this Speculators forum.  So: all of their trades would have to be based upon what they read at this subforum alone.

What would the outcome be?  Big lose?  or Big win?
9  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Global Warming Real? on: December 05, 2019, 01:35:44 AM
I think the earth is simply moving in a solar system. The sun has phases and explosions, and nublas exploding. The earth is right next to a giant star. There is a lot going on in the universe. A change is climate on earth is also due to humans polluting the place.
10  Other / Archival / Re: Need your advice and ideas for making money online and get out of a hellhole on: December 05, 2019, 01:21:36 AM
Can you go start into a political career? There is money in politics.

TL;DR: I need to make a few thousand dollars/euros to save my life from "living" in a toxic environment. I have thought of doing multiple small jobs found in subreddits and here, but I won't make enough money doing them. I've thought about almost everything, from "inventing" a new cryptocurrency to even asking advice from the dark/deep web guys, or making an online platform, maybe a casino or a betting website or anything... but I don't know what exactly would bring me success.  Huh
What are your ideas to make money online and in cryptos from Iran anonymously?
---
I'm 25M and I've always wanted out of Iran since at least 2008, but I couldn't do anything then because my family was poor and I was too small and my parents were so worried about me.

Now that I'm right at the middle of my 20's, I look back and see that I've just wasted my life so far being forced in a toxic environment, no good universities and education, no job, no money, no professional skills, no relationships, no fun, no parties, lived like an isolated old man in his late 80's. There's terrible compulsory military service for two years of slavery awaiting me if I continue to stay here. You can read the following to learn a little more about the conditions.

https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=fa&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.com%2Fpersian%2Fblog-viewpoints-50621064

Seriously there's no future for me in this country. The environmental situation around me is so complicated to explain because probably you can't imagine it by a short post like this. Someone once said he was wondering how I can focus on my life with all the unrest, international isolation, sanctions, failing economy and everything putting pressure on me.

Once I was looking to get a student's visa to Germany, but now I realize that I can't finance myself there... and EUR has gotten extremely expensive for us. My German friends also think that being able to self-finance myself in Germany would be very difficult, if not impossible. Also, scholarships for undergrads are very rare and it's almost impossible for me to get one. They are mostly for Ph.D. students or people with a German visa.

So I'm left alone asking myself if it would be helpful to email a bunch of universities or professors in Germany, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, etc and ask them for a favor... or even publications or newspapers and magazines in order that they would bring me out for a possible job.

I have a friend in Germany but it's very difficult even to get a tourist's visa, as it's very difficult with other types of visa. Currently, you have to wait for more than a year and a half just for the embassy's waiting list (for studying in Germany).

I've looked a lot to find a job and make money enough when converted to EUR, but every time I ended up disappointed and hopeless. As an Iranian, I can't even have PayPal so the only way for me to get paid online would be by using cryptocurrencies which would bring their own unique problems if I'd ever find a job paying with that.

Some say to marry an EU citizen, but I don't know how I can find someone genuine on the internet who would be willing to have an LDR with a poor guy in Iran and to finally get married.

So you see, it looks like I'm surrounded everywhere by deadends. I can't bear "living" in this country anymore...

Do you have any advice for me? Any input would be much appreciated.
11  Other / Off-topic / Business people: How much longer will Amazons business cycle last? on: December 03, 2019, 09:58:00 PM
Amazon, will eventually decay or morph into other businesses. It is just the natural progression of all businesses.

When though? I was never a big fan of their business name. I do not like Whole Foods anymore. I like big box stores but I don't like how practically everything is sold through Amazon. It's just to big. Comes a point when people will all lose an appreciation for Amazon services because Amazon will take things too far and we will have a rubber band effect.

Any thoughts when and how Amazon will decline? Also in my opinion, Facebook is probably already past its zenith.
12  Economy / Speculation / Can one have any expertise in Speculating? on: December 03, 2019, 09:36:22 PM
Some brief thoughts on this subject:

I noticed that speculators often do a lot of speculating. With that said, is it possible to focus on speculating only, reading nothing else but all the speculating topics and then somehow becoming better at speculating than others?
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Business Idea: Nyc service, Grocery Line Hosts on: December 03, 2019, 09:19:23 PM
Oh, man. You have said my thoughts. Frankly speaking I don't understand the people, who don't think about their future. I mean, that there are persons, who in 30 years, haven't even idea about the earning of money. All they do is only spending of it. Maybe, I was thought in other way, because I knew from the youth, that if you wanted something, you should earn money for it. Group of people, who say, that there is no way to earn money for them, deserve special attention, because it's fake, you can look at the examples of the mobile business ideas and make sure.
Nah WFM read my post here and fixed their wait times somewhat in NYC. Also I noticed a new ad yesterday, for Amazon Go. It is "no wait times, no lines, no check out". They should pay me for the ideas but they just cheaply take them and run. It's cheap people who grab up others ideas and run with them without the originators.

Another thing that makes WFM lose me as a customer is how the lines have cameras and they spy on the customer, profiling them, then linking them to a cashier. Examples: a black customer goes to a black cashier, a white customer goes to a white cashier, so on and so forth. Like an eye in the sky. Just a really judgemental and slow minded HR Department pointlessly circulating in the sky..

Hahahaha. HR Departments are so costly it amazes me corporations have HR systems there sucking up all their profits. They should fire HR roles and not even repurpose them with new jobs. Just a full removal. I'd boycot the place if there were other markets around but for the most part, WFM monopolizes the groceries in Manhattan. I do not like WFM's style at all since Amazon purchased it.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin halving 2020 prediction on: December 03, 2019, 02:41:36 PM
I'm still thinking the next halving will show no noticable change in price pattern. It will possibly mimic Litecoins last halving that was a dud. In that regard, I think it IS predictable this time around. Each day we start to identify more patterns with Bitcoin that are ringing true. Bitcoin now has enough history behind it that we can start figuring it out its behavior much better.

To recap: the next Bitcoin halving will possibly just be business as usual without any noticable effect in price or pattern.

16  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin halving 2020 prediction on: November 29, 2019, 02:02:04 PM
An insider with his ear on the tracks, whispered to me this:

The next much anticipated halving event will be a dud. There will not be a parabolic push up in price. It will steadily move sideways in the 5,000 range with low volatilty. Baffling everyone and flattening peoples interest in bitcoin. Meanwhile people will start buying and trading alts again and stablecoins will see a significant rise in popularity especially with big corporations.

So much for making big gains from the next Bitcoin halving event. You are all shit out of luck?
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the Bigdogs doing with Crypto or are they still in old school markets? on: November 29, 2019, 03:23:15 AM
They have been for years. All that's left to do is create the infrastructure and short to mid term demand to sell the coins they accumulated throughout the years to a bunch of suckers buying into that demand.

I'm pretty sure there has been some institutional presence in the previous years, but they aren't building the infrastructure to unload their bags. If that was their intention, they could have done that easier without the infrastructure we have today, which they spent millions uppon millions on and in some cases they suffered reputational damage like CBOE.

CBOE withdrew its futures and they can't get an etf to be approved despite their continuous efforts. It's the second largest exchange known to man, yet they can't force success.

Their current "limited etf fund" hasn't attracted much capital at all. It's truly a fail. There is currently only ~64BTC in the fund, and we don't know if these funds belong to Vaneck or actual institutional investors.
This is the first I have heard about this CBOE thing happening. It seems not much different than the first attempt made by Bakkt. Neither are as far off the ground yet as they would like to be but both of these will eventually fly.

The thing about it is once CBOE and Bakkt start working, Bitcoin will become more boring, and volatility will flatten out, and crypto will probably move slower and resemble the pace and the rhythm of the stock market.
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who are the top traders at this forum? on: November 29, 2019, 03:09:13 AM
I have to disagree with some responses here because there are big name crypto movers and shakers that do make news announcements and headlines. Once their headlines are published and ordinary traders soak it up, then they buy or sell in the opposite direction of the masses that read their headlines. Basically they play the sheep like a fiddle.

So huge traders and whales do make announcements. Also they do tell the public generally how much crypto they hold but it is often in conjuction with the value of the crypto-corporations they are head of. For some reason I think very few people are going to be trading with accounts in the hundreds of millions of dollars with total cloak and secrecy. Most people with tons of coins can not keep their traps shut up about it. It is not much different than the richest fiat holders in the world, none of them are just unknown by the public and media. The cat gets out of the bag somehow.

Lastly I disagree again with those suggesting this is not a popular enough trading forum for big shots to read at. I think many of the successful ones do read over this forum on occasion. What other crypto trading forum is busier? Not many if any. The sentiments openly posted at this trading forum are very valuable for observing basic market sentiment. It is a free and unfiltered look at how ordinary people are feeling about the markets.

Coinbase fees are way too high.
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who are the top traders at this forum? on: November 28, 2019, 02:27:52 PM
Lot's of useful comments!

Let's not downplay Bitcoin Talks Trading forum here! I am certain that some top traders review what we say here! We are the general population and it is highly valuable for top traders to know about our current emotions and opinions about trends, market sentiments, and such.

Satoshi created our forum so, who's the real boss now?? Satoshi is literally the King bitcoin keeper of them all. This forum is valuable. Many of us are novice traders but we are still part of the same markets and actively playing a role in the grander scheme of things. We have skin in this game too...
