Ok, so I followed all the directions, still no coins yet after a week. I'm a respected long-time member of may forums and exchanges, not a newbie kid just here for a freebie. I was hoping to be able to promote this more, but so far it's not looking hopeful. I'll give it one more week, then I will be going back and manually removing my links and promotions.

Cryptsy kills coins, historically. The value is holding steady at this moment. I'll bet you your whole house that if it hits cryptsy, after 7 days there the value will be half of what it is now.

That sounds like Win XP. Go to the C: drive, with any folder open, look up in the Tools menu, go to Folder Options, select "Show Hidden Files and Folders"

Then Go to C: >  Documents and Settings > Administrator > Application Data > Magneticoin

and the .conf goes in there

I can't tell if its the wallets, network in general, or the pool backends, but I'm still getting massive rejects everywhere. I think it might be the wallets and / or the source code. I put the wallet on several machines to solo, and I'm getting just nonstop scrolling "not providing work fast enough", "caught up to new block", and "issuing work for old block" problems. I did hit an orphan block here or there, so I know the workers are working. Got some payout from a couple pools so I know that's working... So I dunno, gotta be some screwey wallets. Its probably why the pools are having problems too

Yes you can always mine with a GPU, keep in mind this is an SHA-256 coin not Scrypt, so in your miner like cgminer .bat file you'll not add --scrypt to the .bat file. If you're using an existing .bat file for a template, be sure to delete the --scrypt to make it run in sha256. Other miners like bfg or something will need you to add -ALGO=sha256d or --a sha256d to the file. I would strognly reccommend putting the GPUs in a pool rather than trying to solo though, because the asics will be going solo at first and putting the difficulty too high for a GPU to be effective solo mining

I know I'm sick and tired of this user "scam_exposer" trolling every thread and calling it a scam. Every IPO coin he blows up with huge red letters like a highschooler from 1999-era-internet and calls it a scam. Yeah okay, we all know there are lots of IPO scams. But how the hell do you know everyone is a scam? You can't. I've personally made money and gotten my coins from IPO's he's trolled and called scams. It's just hurting my eyes, wasting my time, and getting annoying. I know he just wants attention or money or something, there's no other reason to troll and blow up on every single thread.

Yeah it's my new favorite nighttime coin, because its cool and quiet enough for sleeping even mining at max potential.
