1  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is there such a thing as a 2 of 3 phone wallet. (or any x of y for mobile) on: October 06, 2019, 09:11:06 AM
There’s a few multisig wallets for mobile users out there detailed here: https://www.google.com/amp/s/coinsutra.com/best-multi-signature-bitcoin-wallets/%3Famp These wallets should be enough to fulfill your needs.

Have you tried Electrum[1]? It's a lightweight wallet that doesn't require you to download the whole blockchain. Just select "Legacy" as wallet type when creating a new wallet. Since it's only for a quick test, it should be enough.

Or if you still want to use Bitcoin Core, you can generate a single legacy address by opening the console (Windows -> Console) and using the following command:

Code:
getnewaddress("label of your address" "legacy")

[1] https://electrum.org/#download (the ONLY legit website to download Electrum's wallet. Please double check the URL and verify the file signature if you decide to use it).
I just tried the code and I get an invalid syntax error. I'm testing Core's message signing option to see if it works without needing to download the whole chain(related to one of the previous thread I posted in).
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Can't seem to create legacy address in Core on: October 02, 2019, 08:35:56 PM
How do I get a legacy address for Bitcoin Core? I only need one for testing the signing and verification optionns and external one like blockchain.info don't work.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's most important to you in a crypto betting platform? on: October 02, 2019, 08:20:20 PM
So when I go to a betting site I prefer three main things: Trustworthiness, timely and efficient deposits/cashouts, and good support.

Trustworthiness is a major thing for me because I don't want to deposit and have them run off with my money. I would want the platform to receive my money and have it ready for me to play by one or two confirmations(standard protections against double spends which I don't mind), and if there are any problems a good support should be able to help me fix them(or try to fix them) with decently fast response times(or at least a live chat but that isn't really something I worry about too much, long as it doesn't take a week or something to respond or something then I'm fine with a couple hours/a day). I don't really mind KYC but I would prefer to not send it over.
6  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to sign an Unsigned RawTx from 2-of-3 Multi-Sig Address using Bitcoin Core? on: September 30, 2019, 06:32:15 PM
Multisig addresses start with three right? Then unless I somehow did it wrong then you're out of luck with using bitcoin core since they don't sign 3s apparently. I get the "entered address does not refer to a key" error when I tried.
7  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How safe is Electrum wallet? on: August 28, 2019, 09:11:09 PM
Electrum is very reliable, especially since you own the priv keys. It is vulnerable to hacking attempts though. Whatever you do, just ignore the Electrum 4.0 update message that you might get. There is no 4.0v.
8  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer T9+ , 36038 TH Error on: August 28, 2019, 03:53:24 PM
He's probably asking if you have tried turning on and off the device to fix the issue. Sidenote: Is the problem that the realtime hashrate is too high? I haven't really looked into miners much so I couldn't see the problem myself.
9  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitPay -- KYC is here! on: August 07, 2019, 06:59:16 PM
.
Anyone know how long do they store the users' KYC info?
Their faq doesn’t say how long they keep the info but you can request that they destroy it if you don’t want them to hold it for long.
10  Economy / Reputation / Re: fraud in the campaign. on: August 06, 2019, 05:27:36 PM
There’s not much DT can do other then to give them red trust. Not only do they not have the option to ban people, scams aren’t moderated here.
11  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Help needed to spend from paper wallet on: August 04, 2019, 07:24:52 AM
Question: Why do we need to worry about change? Shouldn’t it be enough to send the exact amounts plus fees? That’s what I do with all my transactions at least.
You do it with Bitcoin transactions or are you referring to another currency?

If you have 1 BTC at an address and you need to spend 0.2 BTC, imagine that your 1 BTC is in the form of a paper bill. You need to spend the entire bill/1 BTC because you only have that one bill and no smaller bills. 0.2 BTC is going to the destination address and the rest (- the fees) is the change in the form of a new paper bill, worth 0.8 BTC that is now going to a new address/another one of your pockets.
Literally the entire crypto lineup. Least that way I wouldn’t have to worry about losing crypto(which now I know shouldn’t really be a thing at least in regards to BTC, so thx guys). Edit: On a side note: Am I able to choose a miner’s fee for the return?
12  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I am guessing my money is gone on: August 04, 2019, 07:16:17 AM
$1600 in an exchange long term? That’s pretty crazy considering the exchanges that has been hacked. How’s an exchange going to be any safer then all the other methods?
adaseb probably means that a Top exchange is a safer place to keep your funds unless you have proper means to safeguard the money yourself.
We have seen users not taking note of their private keys, entering and forgetting which passwords they used or falling for the Electrum phishing scam.
All these would be prevented keeping the funds in an exchange but in that case we are open to other dangers arising from keeping funds in an exchange.

Although I don't agree with keeping funds in exchanges I understand what adaseb is talking about.
You point is also valid.
There have been so many hacks, exit scams that it has become like a lottery. A spin of the wheel to see which exchange is next.
Fair enough, an email address is easier to remember then a priv key. So I can see the logic behind that.
13  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I am guessing my money is gone on: August 04, 2019, 06:58:31 AM
This is why sometimes for newbies, its better to just store the BTC in an exchange.

I am sure the OP didn't lose his BTC, it was all an misunderstanding however if you move your coins off the exchange there is so many points of failure.

Such as getting a virus on your computer, a phishing website, phishing software like Electrum had at the beginning of the year, clipboard viruses, etc.

Sure a hardware wallet is better but most won't buy one and in that case the BTC would be the safest at an exchange. So for new people, other than cold storage / hardware wallet the safest place is an exchange and just use a unique password with 2FA enabled.

15  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 26-July-2019] on: July 31, 2019, 02:50:31 AM
Does anyone else feel like that can encourage spam? How often do you see 60 quality posts a week?(I was thinking of posting this in the actual thread but I’m not sure if that would constitute as spam.)
It does not a matter, in my opinion.
Bitvest campaign has run in the forum, for years, not recently.
I know there are some users in the forum, whom usually makes 100 - 120 posts per week, with high or extremely high quality, for their own interests, writing for fun (they likely have fun when they write their constructive posts, or simply for their bussiness).
For the rest, 60-post-quota per week is acceptable. I don't see issues with 9-10 posts per day, in average.

For campaign participants, if they spend enough time, and really concentrate on discussion, on what they write with decent efforts for each post, I do believe that they can make it, without issues.

The last and most important thing, is the campaign's managers. If managers are strictly controlled participants' posts with timegaps between posts (burstposting), length, contents of posts; then reject all unqualifying posts (reject payments for those posts). Yes, there will be no issues at all!
Fair enough, if they can make it then all the more power to them. It’s just that we recently had an incident with Stake’s signature campaign and this just made me think of that.

18  Other / Meta / Re: What has changed in last 60 days to allow Yobit to have campaigns here ? on: June 30, 2019, 06:18:46 PM
Well yeah that goes without saying but I somehow misinterpreted the other poster’s statement to mean the exchange as a whole(which definitely has problems) and not with the sig campaign so my bad. @AdolfinWolf

Keno has been released!

To the previous posts regarding sounds, yes there are sounds, come try it out  Smiley
Can’t seem to hear anything on mobile playing all the games. Side note: The sidebar keeps on showing up sometimes when I press the left hand side of the screen.

(Launch Time <24 hours)

Cant wait to try it. But havent found a "sound" button on the screenshot. Does it means the game will have no sound effects or something like that ?
None of them have sound anyways and it wouldn’t be a big deal if we had sound or not.
