Just a little bump hoping for updated info.

I think this is one coin that would skyrocket if a dev team took it over.
What a shame.

My deepest apologies for the earlier post I made, I had bad information and was told the issue was to do with a chain problem.

Since then i have learned there are no further issues and the wallet will be back online shortly.

I have deleted my previous post

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptsy Withdrawal Delays! on: August 06, 2014, 01:46:36 AM
To those who experience delays in withdraws, there are several reasons a withdrawal might be delayed.

Due to constant attempts by hacks on every exchange to try to steal a users coins, we have very tight security practices.
Many users do not take this seriously and then complain when a hack gains access to thier computer and wipes them out.

In response to this activity, we look at many things to ensure that every withdraw leaving Cryptsy is authorized.

Below are some things you can do to speed up your withdrawals and reduce any delays.

1) Add 2FA security - This tells us the withdraw that was initiated was done by the actual owner of account. (settings page)

2) Create Pre - Approved withdraw addresses for coins you know you will be withdrawing frequently. (settings page)

3) Always withdraw to same withdraw address - This tells us the coins are going to a previously used address and are less likely
going to a hacker who will generate a new address not already used.

4) Do not login to Cryptsy using TOR or any other means that conceals the true origin of user.

The safety of your investment is extremely important to us, and we will continue to do all we can to ensure that any withdraws made on your
account are authorized by you.

On a final note: the user opening this thread refuses 2FA or ANY of the following steps to help us ensure his withdrawals are authorized which causes
him delays and will continue to cause delays.

A user NOT wanting to secure their coins using any of the above suggestions and using TOR to conceal his login is very suspect to us? This brings up
yet more eyes that must be placed on this account.

This note is addressed to the DEV of CNL.

Please make an appearance and put these users at rest knowing you are still actively working with this coin,
or notify the community you are not so that a new Dev team can take it over.

We would sure like to know that you have not just decided to drop this awesome coin.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [POLL] Cryptsy was Hacked ? on: July 16, 2014, 09:58:50 PM
Spoetnik, the whole cause of this entire issue originally was because you made a post where because of the way you worded it, you made it appear that Cryptsy had
been robbed for 89k.  You did not state it as " somebody told me"  you said it as though you knew it to be fact.   I approached you in chat asking you to simply correct this
as you can see by your own copy of that chat.  I see you left out the biggest part of that chat which was the reason you were banned.  Its not cool to spread false rumors
and I thought maybe you had just written it the way you did in error, but now I see you posted that just to start mistrust and uneasiness among users and the community in general.

This will be my last post , and just want to end with this:
Just so everyone knows the truth:

The title to your poll, "Is a confirmed and used Exploit resulting in cash profit considered a Hack?" is misleading just like your original post.
You are trying to put into the minds of all that we had a cash loss which is a flat out lie.

The user involved in this did NOT remove any coins from site, he did not "hack" into our system to make gains.
He took advantage of a issue we were having at the moment with the cryptsy points reward system, but this raised immediate flags
and was quickly stopped, reversed and any effected users were compensated nicely.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [POLL] Cryptsy was Hacked ? on: July 15, 2014, 10:41:36 AM
I am sure many of you know about a recent incident (couple weeks ago now i think)
Where some guy had found a way to exploit Cryptsy..

I had been "given" info from a few random sources as to what happened and i pieced together what i knew and had posted it briefly (on another topic the other day)
So it seems now after i have posted on this forum the Cryptsy staff are in a frenzy insisting they were not "hacked"
Makes sense because if it didn't happen their name is getting slandered unfairly.. i get that.

But i can summarize what i have heard about the incident and then ask you all do you consider that a hack or not.. please vote !

I was gonna let this all slide but since i have essentially been attacked and threatened and banned ..here comes the drama lol

Cryptsy i might add, so far has said virtually nothing publicly about what happened and at most had left a cryptic / vague message on their Main Page Twitter feed before.
Saying they simply rolled back "Points" ..obviously trying to down play it as much as possible.

So anyway the short version of what i heard from guys who where there when it happened and a mysterious un-named guy
was that Points was "Exploited / Hacked" and some guy had figured out a way to pretty much acquire on their systems HUGE massive amounts of POINTS.
 - Note: Points is Cryptsy's exchange currency of sorts.. a points program of some kind i think (not sure what to call it)
So after this mystery guy had got his unlimited points he was able to dump them for Bitcoin to the point the market had been dumped down to 4 satoshi's.
What happened at that point no one knows *publicly aside from Cryptsy found out and rolled back the points sell order / dumping.
And i assumed they banned the guys account.
At that time a mysterious character was popping up claiming to have been locked out of his account and another person and myself saved the guys ticket number
and said when we see a mod we would pass the ticket number on and try and get the guy some help on his account issue..
When i seen one of the mods i posted the guys ticket number and said can you help the guy with his account problem?
i was banned on the spot with no warning by an unseen mod (prob Jshock i assumed) ..so that was fishy lol

So another week or so later the same mysterious character popped up and was saying his account was locked and he would not tell me
if he was the same guy as before i tried to help out.. it was him though i am sure of it !
So since i had the fish on my hook and i was pretty sure i knew what was going on and i started to poke and prod this mystery guy about the Points Hack..

I started by telling him many times i was jealous of what he did and he should just tell me how to do it.. and he kept playing broken English dumb sort of..
And after a little while he dropped the act suddenly and started speaking rather confidently and was no longer sad about his account being locked
but was laughing his ass off hard and in a great mood and saying directly to me little comments like "what do i spend $89,7404 dollars on ?"
So i am pretty damn sure that was Mr. Points Thief based on ALL his comments combined and the rest of the info i had gotten etc..

The mystery guy nor Cryptsy ever said coins were stolen and taken off their servers 'AND' i did NOT say that happened at any time either !
BOTH parties were extremely vague as to what happened technicaly so anyone on Cryptsy Chat seeing it all or elsewhere had no recourse but to speculate..
And my guess was he dumped points down to 4 sat's and got Bitcoin of course then quickly pulled that Bitcoin out and cashed that Bitcoin out for over $89k usd
I think that is a rational assertion to come to..

Bottom line is i did not post false information anywhere at any time nor do i ever.. contrary to slanderous chat box comments implying i do i just got from JShock.
Further more i have repeated what information i had no more no less... i did not exaggerate or add to it etc. (i chose my words carefully as i ALWAYS do)
As it stands we were all told nothing and the market was rolled back ..screwing some people in the process who had dumped to buy up cheap points etc..

So explain to me how i don't have the right to call it a HACK when Cryptsy has to roll back the market and a guy says he got $89k ?
Sorry but if there was no hack then there would be nothing to roll back now would there ?

So hey why did around the same time the SAME GUY win the POINT'S drawing three times ? Care to answer why that happened ?

People deserve answers.. i *tried to provide what info i had nothing more.
Maybe you guys running exchanges should be transparent about hacker incidents and we won't have to piece together info to figure out what happened ?
It's on you guys NOT me !

So VOTE ? IS a confirmed and verified Exploit considered a Hack ?

As I stated in your previous post.  The problem was quickly identified, corrected and no funds ever left Cryptsy.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mintpal hacked (VeriCoin) on: July 15, 2014, 04:22:53 AM
Quote
1) We lost a considerable amount of VeriCoin in the attack, however we have been working with the VRC developers and all major exchanges to hard fork the coin at a position before the attack. This will allow us to retrieve the stolen coins and facilitate all withdrawals. We are also working with various exchanges to accommodate any losses they may encouter as a result of the required fork.

This is a problem right here. Just because it's stolen does not mean they should be able to arbitrarily reverse the hack. If they're successful at hard forking, this will set precedence that any time there is a theft reported, devs can just hard fork again. This will eventually be abused, and corruption happens.

agreed and this reminds me of the BTER / NXT hack other day and the JPC / Allcrypt hack the other month.

on one hand i think we gotta play by the rules.. bear with me on this lol

Ok so we have a lawless market right ?
Then in all fairness it's to the exchanges to run their business how they see fit period.
BUT
I don't like what these guys are doing..
I myself think if they stole the coins then oh well they are stolen and that is the end of it.
Hard forking a coin or other dumb measures is undermining Crypto bit by bit.

a lot of negative precedents are being set more frequently and unless Regulation is put in place and fast i am getting out of this shit scam pit of bullshit scene.

edit:
This shit is getting out of hand..
It also reminds me of Cryptsy getting hacked for Points couple weeks back..
A guy exploited the exchange and dumped Cryptsy "Points" down to about 4 sat's
The exchange rolled it back but guys got fucked over because they sold other coins to buy up cheap points..
so Cryptsy rolled back the changes on points leaving anyone that dumped their coins earlier kinda fucked over.. as i was told by users who did this.
AND the guy who hacked it popped up after a week and i had a little chat with him and turns out he robbed the place for a bit more than 89k usd after cashing out.
He was laughing his ass off asking me directly what he should spend it on.

Crypsty was not hacked, and no funds were removed from site.  We did have a bug that was exploited in the points market, but it was quickly found and corrected. No funds were removed.
15  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitcoinWisdom.com - Live Bitcoin/LiteCoin Charts on: June 01, 2014, 12:09:19 AM
Cryptsy DRKBTC chart has been stuck for quite a while now
It seems Cryptsy has changed their timezone again.

--UPDATE--
The API returns nothing for drkbtc and others pairs. It should not be timezone issue. at least dogebtc works though it returns glitch data  some time.
DOGE/BTC and DRK/BTC uses same entry. that's quite strange for DOGE/BTC works but DRK/BTC does not work totally.

--UPDATE at 15:55 GMT --
The time must be broken once. The repeated trades is found obviously in some cold market such as VTC/BTC QRK/BTC.
I see.
The last trade is in the future with incorrect date. For example, the last trade of DRK/BTC in our database is 2014-05-24 03:19 GMT. All trades is ignored before 2014-05-24 03:19, so the trades is not refreshed anymore.
After trying fix the issue, with current Cryptsy API we used, It could not be avoided. because the tid is based on timestamp. Exchange should keep the time and data  always correct. So finally only roughly remove all data between 2014-05-22 22:00:00 to 2014-05-24 18:00:00

Also tried their authorized API which provide tid and low lag. Unfortunately it has nonce parameter which must be in ascend, it is conflict with the way extract the data in parallel. It will reduce the speed to 1/8.

Hey guys, there is a very simple solution to your issue, You need to break your pool up into three pools. Keep your users, just assign them to one of the three pools

Excellent Idea!

Pool Minor,
Within the context of all notes spoken, it appeared to me that you were calling the new Cryptsy Facebook a scam.
If this were not your intentions, then I sincerely apologize. We have removed the ban.

2 days ago, another Cryptsy story arose. I withdrew 6323 NXT coins, after wards I bought 5000 NXT and the day after I was on a negative saldo, guess, yess indeed -1323.
This means they substracted the NXT withdraw of 6323 twice. I filed a ticket and they claim a ticket takes 1-3 days to solve

My name is Jim
I am the Customer Service Manager for Cryptsy.com
Your original post was made Mon 3/31 (2 days after you submitted your ticket), this tells me you submitted your ticket on Sat.
The reason you were asked to wait 2-3 days is due to our tech support team is unavail on weekends as another user suggested.

Please be patient with us as we grow our team and exchange.
(We had 1 official customer service agent in Nov, we now have over 25
